- Today I will be walking down Ocean BLVD in Myrtle Beach. We will be on the outlook for retro motels. One motel in particular is Coral Sands. I stayed here during the mid 90’s. Coral Sands is scheduled to be demolished soon. I want to share with you my memories of my stay at Coral Sands. So lets get started!

Great video, my friends and I would go to Myrtle Beach in the mid to late 80's. I remember staying at the Sand Castle which was north of the pavillion. We were on the 7th floor, guys on the 8th floor right above us were dropping cans of beer down to friends in the parking. They invited us to their room for some beer, they were playing some Guns and Roses. Man, we spent so many hours cruising up and down back in those days. Lots of good memories, thanks for the videos.

Bates motel!? Maybe so. But there is some nostalgia there. Outside entry’s remind me of the movies for sure. I bet those senior memories live on in your brain for ever. You can never step in the same river twice. That would be wild in high school. We never had anything like that. That tunnel is very unique. I bet it does flood. glad they keep it open. Myrtle beach ebs and flows with crime. Depends on the year really. Thanks for the tour. 🎉

it's been a long time since we have been to Myrtle Beach. Glad you have the retro hotels documented. I bet that carpet was gross from the ac unit leaking. Yuck! lol Sounds like you had a great time at Senior Week. Such an enjoyable video!

That building that had sands written on it is part of the Sea Mist Resort's group of buildings.

Great video by the way. It was a real trip down memory lane. You did an excellent job. My wife and I used to vacation at Myrtle Beach every year for 25 years. I think one of the worst decisions they ever made in Myrtle Beach was when they closed down the pavilion amusement park.@@HitchHikingYeti

I too stayed at Coral Sands for Senior week…. 1993. That place was WILD back then. Full or paratroopers and guys from Ft. Bragg
That is to cool. So it wasn’t just when we were there!😂😂 It was a wild and crazy place back then. I read the reason it closed a few years ago due to prostitution and drugs dealings. Thanks for watching my friend. Have a great weekend.

I can’t remember the room rate from back then. It might have been 60 dollars a night. That is just my guess.🤔
