- This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the week ahead 29/04/2024.
As winds change direction this week, warmer air will arrived in many places. Not everywhere will be warm, however. And not everywhere will be dry and sunny... Bringing you this weekend’s weather forecast is Aidan McGivern.

From what I have seen. High pressure is dominating Europe as said in the video, but we have a 150mbar jet stream over the southwest annoyingly!!!
I can predict exactly when the low will be centered over the UK with prolonged heavy rain. It will be Bank Holiday Monday
So, for my next 2 weeks holiday I’ll pack jumpers, gloves, tee shirts and sunscreen. Oh and an umbrella of course

It's lagging it down here at the moment (N.E. Wales) and blowing a hoolie! And to top it- it's really cold! PAH!🤔

I expect it will be warm and dry in the Southeast & East Anglia though, dont worry about us elsewhere.
Still no end to the damn rain!, absolutely sick ot it now!,it's been cold for months are now they are giving thunderstorms which need heat to develop so not much chance of that!
Aiden i live in the west country and quite honestly i am fed up with the wet weather , when is summer going to start. Any warm weather to look forward too.

82 years old, I wanted to go and live in Australia when I was in my twenties but the other half wouldn't.
4 months ago, it was Christmas, and in four months, it's going to be September and knocking on the door of cold weather again.
Can’t we just tow the UK further south please?
What happened to the high pressure system you confidently forecast to be sitting over us at the end of April a couple of weeks ago?

Over the last year its been neither.
The weather is just a mess this year. That cold weather that is being pulled down from the north and back up southward is the the reason prob for the wet and windy spell. To be honest I used to love spring and summer. Now I just look forward to September to enjoy the idian summer

Uh, more rain, well at least me fish will be happy, have a feeling this is going to be another summer of 2012 after the now annual winter flooding, I suppose they don't call where I live the wetlands for nothing 😂. Any chance of a 2018 summer?

Why did The Met Office- UK Weather change the temperature colours to these Reds when its only 20c I would have thought 40's would be red??
All the media are gaslighting us. Newspapers are full of ''bank holiday heatwave'' headlines ''UK set to bask in temperatures as high as 20 C''. These are just normal temperatures for mid-late April and it has been unseasonably cold this year. I'm in London and just a couple of evenings ago it was 4 degrees C. Those are January temperatures here.

Didn't they used to use blue colours for low pressure? Now they use orange?
The colours represent temperature not pressure (the white lines are the isobars)

Typical April weather, nothing unusual. Why are people complaining about the weather? Its always been changeable in the British Isles.
