  • “Hallelujah” was composed by Kobi Oshrat. In 1979, the song won “The Eurovision Song Contest” for Israel. It was performed in Hebrew by “Milk and Honey” with Gali Atari. Subsequently, it has been regarded as a classic of the contest and as a modern Jewish standard. The single by “Milk and Honey” from their 1979 album “Milk & Honey With Gali” reached the top of the charts at No. 1 in Finland, Ireland, Israel, Norway, and Sweden. Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme also released the song in the same year. In this rendition, pianist Charles Manning improvises the hit song “Hallelujah.”
