Excellent tips! It is not advisable to always go with what is currently in trend. The house has to be easy to live in and maintain n also be aesthetically pleasing. First things while planning a house, always work on rain water harvesting and solar panel installations. Avoid carved furniture with lots of minute grooves as it attracts dust and is almost impossible to clean. Never have different levels of flooring (eg. A sunken or elevated portion for dining space or living space) on the same floor. This not only requires extra cleaning but can also prove to be an accident zone. Avoid sharp edges to furnitures, make them slightly curved instead.

@@dumpsocial007 No, it can't because the dust is wedged too deep in the crevices. Even with the smallest changeable head of the vacuum cleaner it will be difficult to get to the dust n even if you do manage to, it will take hours of cleaning. In my opinion, it's just not worth the time and effort.
I want to tell you about my experience with vacuum cleaners in general. My parents have a powerful enough vacuum cleaner (for a home) of a good brand. Once my maid was vacuuming a rug. It had not been vacuumed for at least 2 months as we were out of town n the house was locked for the period. My mom realized that there was still a lot of dust after vacuuming the rug so she asked the maid to hang the rug on the balcony rail and use a hard broom n carpet brush. I was in the balcony at the time, and to my disbelief I saw that a hard broom n the carpet brush were able to get more dust out of beating the carpet than the vacuum cleaner. So not all traditional methods are bad and some may be even more effective than the current modern solutions just like in this case.

During renovation we installed couter top basin from the traditional old fansioned basin.
Now we find difficult to maintain it. Lesson learned.
Always go for practicality first, cost and then the looks later

From my personal experience:
1) never install a black coloured sink in your bathroom. It's a nightmare to keep clean.
2) never install Western commode if you live in a cold place. 😢
