Good for you Mimi! I had a custom left hand guitar made for my self two years ago. I had them my initials put on the headstock. That really makes it your own. I hope you get lots of years of enjoyment out of this very special guitar. It's just Beautiful!!!

You are an amazing talent! Never give it up! I am age 57 and I have played drums at a much younger age and a couple of bands until I got married and started having little minions running around so I had to stop playing in bands but never picked up the guitar, only the drums. Without getting into everything of course, I now have plenty of free time on my hands and I'm going to pick up an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar I'm going to learn how to play them. Where I live there are no great guitar shops or instrument shops nearby for miles and miles but I did happen to come across one day quite by luck a fantastic, large facility in a strip mall by the name of "Guitar Center" and I thought I'd check it out and it was much, much more than just guitars. They have two recording studios and they have drums and all sorts of other acoustic instruments and keyboards and amplifiers and DJ equipment and so on and so forth and so on.. And I had a guy show me around and I definitely know the acoustic guitar that I'm going to purchase and it's a nice really sharp basic $200 Yamaha Acoustic guitar and also he played a few attractive Electric guitars on a couple of small amps and of course this guy was really super good because he basically owned the whole operation and I've always fancied the Fender Telecaster. To me when I heard him play the Telecaster up against the Les Paul and the Stratocaster, and left me kind of hold the Telecaster in my hand it just said yes to me and so I'm going to buy the Electric Telecaster. Beautiful blue body with a white pic plate and it just is the guitar for me. I only hope I can get as good as you are when you play!

It’s really a great sounding and beautiful guitar. I’ve traveled Route 66 when I was a kid in 1959. It’s true, stopping at the Mom and Pop Diners really made the trip fun. I’m glad you love your guitar and hope you can come see what’s left of Route 66.

Cool retro guitar but it sounds really nice too. I like how they went all out on the vintage retro vibe with the diner receipt and all. Cool story for a unique guitar
In case weren't sure, those are the caps that came on glass milk bottles . The dairy would drop them off at your house and you would give them back the empty ones . The little tab was so you could pull them out . I used to try to get to them first to get the cream off the top . Hence the term "the cream rises to the top" .

A lot of people would say that Pine is a terrible cheap wood for a guitar. I say, If it stays in tune and plays well, it's good enough. Pine isn't as heavy as Mahogany, and playing a two hour gig would be much better with that Pine guitar. What does that weigh? Maybe 4 or 5 lbs.. and a Les Paul Weighs close to 9 lbs. That's a huge difference. I prefer a double fat strat with split coil pickups. It gives me the best of both worlds. It looks like you're happy with your guitar. And that's what matters the most. Cool story..Keep rocking those blues. You sure are good at it. Peace..

Yes it does look like a Danelectro '56. I think it's the tape that goes around the sides. The body shape is very close, if not the same, also. I have a '56 Dano U2 which is in what they called Commie Red. Same shape as Mimi's, but for the neck. Mimi's guitar looks like it has a wide nut. 53mm? My Dano has a 40mm nut which is why it stays in the case so much. Beautiful guitar, Mimi.

The quality can be seen a mile away and I can almost smell that combination of leather wood and fried plectrum! Nice job now play that beauty. The last two round items in the case are milk bottle caps. In the 50s milk came in glass bottles and had round caps in them there was a tab one could "peel" up and pull the seal up. I noticed the round indentation on them that's how the old bottle caps were. I'm thinking that's what they represent. Super cool guitar for sure.

Yeah, custom guitars are so cool if you can afford one. I don't play them at gigs. Home and private parties only. I have a fender FMT guitar someone ordered in Roanoke, Va. They didn't pick it up, so I was offered a price if I want it. I took it home with me. It's a burgundy red flame top with black chrome hardware. The pickups are split to go humbucker or single coil. The action is super low & doesn't rattle. I paired it with a Marshall amp with built-in effects processor. Sounds super sweet. 🎵🎶🐀🐾
Love the aesthetic, pure 50s kitsch. Les Paul meets Danelectro with Gretsch pickups. The metal binding has the vibe of a table from a 50s diner. It's a masterpiece 👌
Mimi, I’m probably the only person seeing this old enough to recognize those round shaped discs to be reproductions of 1950’s era milk bottle stoppers, before milk was even homogenized and the cream used to float to the top.

Nice different combination on this Guitar. Gretsch pickups meet a high-end Danelectro comes to mind.

The last two round items in the case are milk bottle caps. In the 50s milk came in glass bottles and had round caps in them there was a tab one could "peel" up and pull the seal up. I noticed the round indentation on them that's how the old bottle caps were. I'm thinking that's what they represent. Super cool guitar for sure.

Yeah, custom guitars are so cool if you can afford one. I don't play them at gigs. Home and private parties only. I have a fender FMT guitar someone ordered in Roanoke, Va. They didn't pick it up, so I was offered a price if I want it. I took it home with me. It's a burgundy red flame top with black chrome hardware. The pickups are split to go humbucker or single coil. The action is super low & doesn't rattle. I paired it with a Marshall amp with built-in effects processor. Sounds super sweet. 🎵🎶🐀🐾
