Yeah they are great until they break down 45 minutes from home base lol. We just got 12" dump this weekend and i blow a wheel bearing. Wasnt fun. Although ive changed enough of them in the past that i have them on the shelf and get em done in about 1.5 hours. Thanks for watching!
@@lakelifecraftsman I hear you there we got 12 coming this weekend actually just going through the truck today and tomorrow make sure she’s ready to go 🤞
Also the truck is only worth half as much of its driver and I saw some good plow in there I'm up here in Alaska Anything that can push snow and has a good heater that's a good truck and we'll start every time all the time Stay safe and keep the rubber side down
I would put one yard of sand that has a little bit of salt in it so it doesn't freeze right over your back tires on that flatbed you wouldn't believe that difference you'll be able to plow that right there in two-wheel drive
Pretty good idea. Its securing it thats the hard part unless i have a sander. I ended up welding a lincoln 350D (350 amp welder) to the deck over the wheels. Weighs about 1500 lbs with cables. Worked pretty good too. I just took it off today as our snow season is done hopefully lol
@@lakelifecraftsman yeah here in Vermont we got another surprise 6 in like March 9th or 10th or something the only advantage to having sand with a little salt in it verse the welder which is a great idea as well is you get stuck you got powder for traction you know to sand and salt. Anyway I like your videos and I've subscribed I like what you do I like how you carry yourself thank you for the entertainment
No scoop lol. Just straight blade for clearing a narrow twisty part of the road to a wider area. Too difficult to V and snow just falls back on the road as i drive past. Once past the narrow parts, easy to clear.
😂 i was just joking on the ford bit because the owner of that property called me to plow for him and he owns a ford truck. He was a good sport about it though and chuckled. Personally im not really a ford fan but its mostly because of the whole "gotta remove the cab to work on anything under the hood" thing that i cant get over. That and their 6.0L diesel motors ....and their 6.4's....and....here i go again!!!! Lol Thanks for watching!
Oh and one last thing if I'm not mistaken Is Dodge originally made Ford motor parts so if you like Fords you have to like dodges and I am a Mopar guy all the way lol
I had to look that one up....3 hours down a rabbit hole of history - so thanks for that. 😂 I love my dodge too - even with all her quirks!! Thanks for watching!
I think you MIGHT just qualify as "neighbor" lol. Maybe a ways off. From what I hear, you guys on the island should be getting above average snow falls this winter as well?
@@lakelifecraftsman already here I'm at sea level well 37 ft above sea level and I have about a foot of snow since Christmas Eve more snow coming on Friday New year's Eve till Sunday maybe another foot
Not having it in "V" position was deliberate. It was tight quarters and there was a tree rolling in the snow across the whole road in front of plow as I was pushing and if I had gone into "V" there was a good chance I would have gotten stuck in that narrow roadway with the plowed snow just caving back in from the treeeline. Had it been a straighter go and no trees close to the road, then for sure I would have been in "V" and let it fly! Thanks for watching!
Touchy subject for some! Lol. Dodge have their drawbacks as well - weak front ends, weak front wheel bearings, weak tranny's (RF68), and not the greatest for wiring - but I put up with all of that for the Cummins. If Ford put a Cummins in their trucks, I would be in a Ford (that hurt to say 😄). 502,000 kms on this one in video. Purrs like a kitten & just won't die!!
Those older rams are beasts great video seems like every time I do a favor for a neighbor it turns into that

Lol that’s the 1st time I ever seen anyone using a Boss plow to plow trees 🌲! Lmfao 🤣

I like chevy more but damn the "I dont think a ford would of made that" was a bit brutal

Does anyone even drive Fords anymore?
They are like sasquatch out this way. Rarely seen in action!! 😂
lol i was a Ford guy now i have a yard full of junk fords that dont run. my next plow truck could be a dodge it will not be a Ford
