Thanks you Pete! 1 month ago I thanked you because your videos got me from Expert to mid-master ranked playing mostly Classic Fixed. You told me to start playing Capitals. A little over two weeks later I hit GM and last night I broke into the top 100 (DriverGT5). What’s crazy is I still have a ridiculous about to learn. Thanks for documenting your journey and keeping us entertained.
Pete I’m still hovering around master and intermediate, I just hit expert on my capitals account, Rowland bhalla record 17-38 I don’t think I’m ready to hang with you guys in the tourneys yet but any gm imo has the ability, and once I hit gm, I think I’ll join, so I would encourage you too as well kindred, But Pete my question is, considering the level of play will go up in the tourneys, do you expect that I might actually play better because I won’t be dealing with the noobery?
Cause a bit of me says I can play to my competition and the only time I ever have to really go to wars of attrition are against people seemingly bad at the game and those are the only scenarios I’m not jostling for first position
Thank you for your content Pete❤ I just hit GM today and I'm thankful to you for bringing me to the world of online risk and getting me hooked with the passion that you put into the game. I didn't play risk since the last time I played the board game in my childhood and you brought all of the love I had for it right back!
One of the most fun games I have watched. I went from wishing Red to die to wishing Green to die then back to Red. They had the easiest 1/2 in the game and both fumbled it hard. Love it. I despise Green’s style. I cannot image he wins much.
Got a very similar game like that yesterday! I think i was in the exact same spot.. 1v1 on this map in the end.. was progressive though. I held the whole world besides australia and didn‘t have a set on 4. He could have broken like 1-2 continents of mine but of course he sat on 3 cards and got a set. Those 50 troops fucked me right up. I could still have won if i only had stupid set on 4💀
Extremely minor nitpick. But at 16:10, moving troops out of Japan instead of Kamchatka seemed like an error. Albeit white still just blasted through Kamchatka but I think removing troops from the region to not only enough the slam but to minimize casualties from said slam would have been optimal.
Green was playing HOPING White addressed Red for everyone & not doing his part in making sure Red didn't get an extra +7 while also simultaneously not putting pressure on White or breaking Pete. He was essentially doing nothing to progress the game, which is more of a play for top 2 than it is playing for the win. He had several opportunities to help address Red while their stack was locked and chose not to. If anything HE should've put the most pressure on Red, bc it would've been beneficial to both of them had Green taken SA and everyone gets a +5 except White. Then they deadliest trap him. That's why the turtle Aus strat works so much with noobs. Other noobs do nothing to address it and either force unnecessary conflict/cold wars with each other while ignoring Aus, or they play super passive like Green just hoping for a Top 2 instead of truly doing anything to try to win until they're forced to suicide when another player inevitably involves them for their lack of play.
Basically it boils down to the 3 point guard in Europe or Africa just being a bitch/noob move to pray for 2nd. By the time you react to consolidate your stack, it's probably already too late.
@@illuminatedstorm Interesting opinion. I just have been finding that lately Pete often does things he puts others down for. I'm seeing it more and more in the recent videos. Especially the video where a player that was black was a homie (as Pete puts it) all game long, but then gave him third because he wasn't playing to win. Meanwhile Pete often talks about playing for second and often sees things that need to be addressed and then does nothing himself. It's all little pot and kettle.
@@Simontoth71 I'm sure all of us have moments where we're a bit hypocritical in our Risk strategies. The 3 point guard in Africa or Europe is just particularly a pet peeve of mine and apparently Pete's bc, like Green in this instance, it's rarely a winning formula strat. More of a just trying to survive and hope you aren't the one slammed into thing. And in that instance, I don't think I've ever seen Pete play guard like that. He almost always makes sure to have a big puncher to either capitalize on mistakes himself, or retaliate if necessary. Green was basically saying "Until someone suicides into someone else, I'm just gonna sit here, and even then, I probably won't be able to clean up the kill". Hence why when he got slammed and broke he couldn't address it fully and it cost him the game as well.
I still think green merited the lowest position, based on his continuous self driven play and the fact he never addressed red even one time until it was to late.
Bruh where the heck did pete get that all that hair? Is he in hibernation mode up in Canada?
Canada? Is he visiting kylted? Lol
His hair style looks like one of those failed undercover boss hair dues lol
Flooofy

Or in a position to address a giant, because a noob gives us both 5-6th

White got so lucky at the end! You got dudes for days and he snagged a 3 card 10 trade at the perfect moment. 😅
Sometimes there's nothing you can do! If I got better cards or better manual dice... who knows
Been a bit busy but I’m here! Thank you for the videos Pete continue with the great work

Hella fun i enjoyed!
Your dice were fine unfortunately pink was rocking 6's all day
The way she goes!
20:15 why not bring your 5 stack in Asia into Europe and give green cards in Asia
imo because Green was a dick so threatening him with a double su is better than giving him free cards
I didn't want to attack twice and I thought/hoped he'd address red
You were gone when white broke red and came back after red retook.
Garbage play gets rewarded: Risk Global Domination
Guiness shirt this time, Pete? Nice! :D You like it? Where did you get that shirt?
Is Pete wearing a wig? No way he spawned all that hair overnight
Flooofy
Reggie must have been sitting on Pete's head
Why does he limit the attacking troops?
Red was a moron, had that game in the bag, then broke early. If he waited like more turns he would roll green easy.
Green was playing to win, many times you sit back and let others hit each other. What's the difference? Kinda hypocritical.
