NL: I have 7 minutes for another game Also NL 5 minutes later: In the middle of an unhinged 10 minute rant about Star Wars a full 10 minutes before the video ends
Re: Star Wars "changing direction" with episode 9: There never was a consistent flight plan in the first place. Especially with 8 discarding material and ignoring the plot hooks established by 7 and the novels. There was a ton of setup off-screen (including for the pink-haired admiral and her relationship with Leia), and episode 8 did nothing with it, and outright contradicted some, making authors scramble to fix it later. All three movies were handled on a "do your thing" mentality, and were supposed to be helmed by a different guy each - the third of which left the project after arguments with management about this issue, among others, prompting the return of JJ Abrams. If anything, 8 is the movie that threw a wrench into things, whereas Abrams with the 9th had to get the thing to land somewhere.
Not gonna lie, when I first heard about the east and west jet lag thing, I was sure the egg was smoking some good stuff before hitting record. But, nuh. He IS right, realest shit I have ever heard
Great sap name! Although I did initially read "MeAl" as "Meal". There was also a "Moon Shadow" in the versus group I think - just need a "LordOfGarfunkley"!
hearing NL complain about "The Rise Of Skywalker" deviating from the destination when "The Last Jedi" took every story beat from Force Awakens, and threw it in the trash is... well that's certainly an opinion
Preface: I don’t care about Star Wars at all Liking Episode 8 for being fresh and disliking Episode 9 for changing course is… weird, right? There are plenty of reasons to like or dislike any of those movies, but didn’t 8 also completely change trajectory too?
they ended up with like a 5 stat difference i think the temp hp from doorhead ant was much more important the reason he actually lost is bc he never moved his dragon to the back lmao
@@turtley8581 Well yea by the end that doesn't matter about winning the earlier rounds which is where he struggled, if his doorhead had armor it could've gotten off an extra attack before using the massive health pool that it has.
Favourite Eggman still doesn't know if there's an empty space at the front you can go 4 squaded with the door head ant in the 2nd space and the ability triggers still
he made so many blunders like choosing peanut for a 50/50 which already kills every unit instead of coconut armor, didn't move the dragon to the back, etc.. He just doesn't understand order still after like 4 years of playing lmaoooo
Don't blame the Manta Ray for NL's unusually shit plays. Surprised he didn't even stop and look at how terrible his order was when he came back, it's like he never left lmao
Ah yes, episode 8. Something fresh and new is exactly how I would describe the plot of episode 6 the second time. Then to immediately shit on 9 for taking a hard left and ruining the plot line of 8 is the perfect irony considering how 8 was an even harder left turn that ruined and ignored everything in episode 7. Listen, I get it, the light reflecting off the movie screen was pretty when I watched episode 8 in theaters, but it's a shit story and a pretty bad movie. Nothing is accomplished, every character is stupid and they consistently make stupid choices, nothing matters, nothing has consequences except for the literal killing of characters that were introduced in 7 then dismissed before they could have *anything*. I also got a boner for the Holdo Maneuver, it was dope as fuck. But that was one scene in a waste of two hours. The fight scene in Snoke's throne room was one, uncut, incredibly choreographed scene shining through a minefield of shots huffing their own shit to get high on "subverting expectations."
I agree with you, and you're even being too generous. You might want to reconsider forgiving that fight scene, for instance. A number of youtubers have done breakdowns of it, and there are a LOT of problems, including several deliberate misses from stuntment due to actors missing their cues, and a weapon which is edited out of one of the shots because if the throneroom guard still had it he would have been able to easily kill Rey. It's easily one of the worst choreographed fight scenes in Star Wars, if not blockbuster cinema.
@@nathanhopkins7976 to be fair it does come as a bright spot in an otherwise very awful movie at a time where shaky, jump-cut style editing was the style for any fight scene. And while I understand that fast cuts are used to make it feel more like *ACTION!* I do enjoy an unbroken shot. And, yes, I did watch nearly every Marvel movie through Endgame so I'm part of the problem, not the solution.
@@themauler1599 Totally understandable, I feel the same way. Fast cutting is often a crutch to avoid putting in the effort to choreograph a fight scene, and it can get nauseating. But if you go the other direction, mistakes in execution are a lot more visible. You'd just think, given their budget, that they would have choreographed something that would stand up to scrutiny! And though I think it's sad, you have a point: the throne room fight *is* a bright spot in the film and one of the better ones in the Disney SW era, but that's a testament to how far the franchise has fallen. :(
The only issue with sticking to the plan for star wars is that there was no plan, which was very visible in episode 8. The directors did not communicate. Ryan Johnson threw away a lot of the setup from episode 7 and when JJ Abrams can back for episode 9 he then ignored episode 8 to get back to his vision from episode 7. The whole thing was just a mess. Edit: Typo
He's very right about the jetlag thing. It's physically much easier to stay up later when travelling West to East. Significantly less stress on the body. There are actual papers on it.
It is amazing to me that NL has precisely the same opinions on modern Star Wars that I do, not to mentioned he skipped the last movie for exactly the same reason as me ...
The 6 hour pause just to immediately lose was a classic NL move
NL: I have 7 minutes for another game
Also NL 5 minutes later: In the middle of an unhinged 10 minute rant about Star Wars a full 10 minutes before the video ends
Not moving dragon to the back after it causes a bagillion wins into draws was wild
If he switched the dragon and goat order, he would get 10 no question.
Not to mention running doorhead ant in front when he could have just left that space empty and gotten the same effect...
"Alright I'm back, either to win 4 or lose 1"
*Looks at 1 minute left in the video* welp
Him not running dragon at the back would’ve changed all those draws to wins.
I’ve never been more frustrated and pogged at the same time before.
I cry evry tim
NL: Lesson learned

Oh boy a new NL SAP i wonder what tier 6 scaling pet he will purchase in this one
egg is right on time for my lunch break
How do you like your egg? I like mine pog side up
Move the damn rat back a couple spaces.
Welcome back egg

is NL ever going to learn that order matters?
Lol, no
I was praying he would discover ox, doorhead ant, slug but that second round was begging him and he rerolled past it without a thought
It’s insanity that he endlessly buys tiers ones to get 3 1/1 buffs but refuses to buy a zebra to get 2, 2/2 buffs
"Zebra's not the play" proceeds to freeze a pear. It hurts.
PaulCallsMeAl here. Didn't realize there was cross play but saw the name and have been wondering if it was actually NL. Question answered

Also - nice Double Dragon 🐉🐉
@MexiCoe lol thanks. Shop difference. Definitely had a level 3 by the next turn
Rolling past three snakes in a single shop
I would love to see further research into the jet lag hypothesis.
Why does this man still put death touch on big units instead of coconut?
He’s either really bad at tactics, or he’s a genius at getting comments.
the +2 elo earned from the first match made me chuckle

The jet lag thing is absolutely correct.
It was close that first round, needed to put the groundhog to the front but easy to miss

Coconut on my 50/50? Nah bro, Deathtouch.
10:14-10:30 is a golden bit lmaoo
The ending of this video was beautiful
What happened to your exclusive egg shell hat?
lmao the titanic joke actually sent me
Man refuses to put melon armor on his scaling carry (doorhead ant) and instead puts it on the goat with half the stats..

I live in Hawaii, and I traveled to Japan, which means I lived the same day twice and also skipped a day. That was some serious jet lag 😅
This dude refusing to put weak dragon in back just losing him so many rounds
Extremely based Star Wars take snuck in there
NL summed up my feelings about Star Wars perfectly.
Favourite Eggman still doesn't know if there's an empty space at the front you can go 4 squaded with the door head ant in the 2nd space and the ability triggers still
I thought it was guaranteed, first time a dragon build hasn't popped off
THE GROUNDHOG NOOOO!!! Man, if I had a nickel for every time i did something like that...
dunk dunk dunk, du dunky dunk dunk dunk
The moth/goose theory was great until you realise the goose goes first and has no impact on the moth whatsoever
Jet lagg is about gut bacteria food rhythm disruption.
No rhino when you have a lvl 2 rat?
That immediate lose after all that time was so deserved. What was that build?!
There were so many synergies in that squad. I don't understabd how it lost.
Order
There’s already research on the jet lag theory
unironically am playing runescape right now what the fuck ryan
Please, for my sanity, freeze the thing you want on 4 gold then roll once
If that end squad couldn’t make it work, the manta ray can’t hang. Basically every enabler imaginable and couldn’t get more than 6.

Great video!
People are starting to think that backpack battles is a TCG 😂
perfectly on time with dinnertime
And he forgot Peacock ruined all his previous attempts...
Doorhead ant still jumps forward if he moves the units to have the first space empty...

Hey twitch people, when's the egg gonna play more backpack sap?
Do they have Hannah Montana up in Canada?
NL didn't get a single teir 4 unit offered in the shop on turn 7 or 8, that's pretty unluckers
