DC strat surf series! 😝 I love those harmony videos, it blew my mind that the end of All of Me is almost the same that the B section of Night and Day. Happy new year, Denis!
hi great video, i have your book but it's not clearly about chord melody or am i missing something? it's more about concepts... great book tho. Also how are you getting such a fat tone from your stat? tone knob all the way up? cheers
Very good question. My book is not about chord melody nor is it even about jazz but about the fundamental skills required to be able to create chord melodies on the spot (with a lot of practice of course). I think I do talk about that in the beginning chapter. It’s about connecting the guitar to your ear and brain so that you see harmony and melody as one and at an instinctive level rather than an intellectual one (although being able to see it at an intellectual level is not bad either).
@@user-bdie6ikhd55w73hwg Well, it’s certainly possible that you already familiar with all those concepts and have internalized them to a high degree. If that’s the case, that’s really great but a significant number of students have not, and this is the key to being able to learn really fast.
Not a fan of electric guitar, even with Gypsy Jazz. Acoustic and nylon strung guitars are harder to play (normally) than electric (talking from experience) Jimmy Rosenberg is a prime example with with a particular video where he can hardly play his acoustic live but when he picks up the electric - wow! Awesome, but easier to play which is why he opted for it. Always love your videos…

I couldn’t stop staring at your door that created an optical illusion.
Happy new year!🎉
Love your channel. Best channel i have came across on jazz in a while.

You gave the term, "sweet chin music" a whole new meaning
Something tells me I should check out your book
This was one of your best videos. Thanks and Happy New Year!
Nice job
Nice melody Dennis! Great use of diminished voicings on the E7 chord. I also liked the DbM7 chord at the end. Tasty!
Happy new year Doug! Hope you’re doing well!!
@@DenisChangMusic Wishing you a great 2024 my friend!
Cook with whammy bar! Hawaiian sounding to me

Oh ya, the guitar tone : i roll off the tone knob but not all the way through and then i chose a plugin amp that was mellow
The book is half conceptual half chord reference guide. The actual 'lessons' are fairly limited. I hoped for mpre.

Important information missed in description: Where you bought that pick?
It was sold in the Tokyo guitar shop where I bought the guitar haha
