      my dad works for BWXT, the navy's supplier of boilers, and he claims that they are also short selling just how much power and speed aircraft/subs are capable of. He claims based on the size, strength, and stress test data they are able to sustain much higher power outputs than they say.

    The landing "Touch and Go" landing. Is because they are practicing landings. Landing can be one of the most important skills to practice in an airplane. This is also done if the landing doesn't feel right to the pilot. Maybe they are too far down the runway or going too fast.

    1:41 that is a U.S Recon Helicopter Drone, it was built to detect its opponents and also meant to be a radar on air for troops to see and keep track of hostile troops, it wasn't used that much though, they mostly used the UAVs for better detection in some way and try to get better targets if I'm correct.

    To answer your question about the letters referring to the U.S. Navy names. The letters represent what mission type that aircraft has. It is as follows: A-Assault, B-Bomber, C-Cargo, E-Electronic Warfare, F Fighter, H-Helicopter, O-Observation, P-Patrol, S-Submarine, Anti-, T-Training aircraft, U-Utility, V-V/STOL or Verticalo/Short Takeoff and landing. The numbers are the series number of that aircraft and the letter after the number is what modication package it is. I am A U.S. Navy Veteran and had to learn these.

    • @Rob_F8F
      @Rob_F8F 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Small correction - A is for Attack as it relates to aircraft designations. It's the common designation standard for all US military aircraft.
      When it cones to US Navy ships, an A at the end (as in LHA) stands for Assault (as in Landing platform Helicopter Assault). At the beginning, it means that the ship is an auxiliary (as in AO for Auxiliary Oiler).

    10:29 they were practicing a touch-n-go, basically practicing landing without ever coming to a full stop. In carrier landings, the pilots have to be real quick about getting back up to flying speed to retry a landing, hence why the pilot never slowed down.
    If the US military released all the info concerning the classified kit on its military equipment, no country would ever dare try to attack any US base or the homeland.

    The 3 seawolfs are badass subs though. One of them could savage an enemy fleet. Each boat has 8 torpedo tubes and they have the ability to silently launch torpedos at low speeds, they can dive very deep. 1 of the seawolfs, U.S.S. Jimmy Carter is much longer as it has a special hull section for berthing and launching special forces, divers, and Unmanned submersible vehicles. It is a special projects boat, which means it can do some very special things to collect intelligence.

    The touch and go you just saw that pilot do could be for multiple reasons although judging by his armament/load-out, he's probably practicing landings while still fully armed most likely with dud armaments so if something goes wrong there's no big boom. The practice landings where they touch and go are usually due to cost savings. Much like in your car on cruise control, it saves fuel to just touch and go for another practice run instead of slowing down and taxiing for another takeoff.
    Rule number 1 in the Navy: if you're ever wondering why an operation is done a certain way, ask yourself if it saves the Navy money, and if it's possible that's the case, then it's also highly likely one of the correct answers.

    The Phalanx / CIWS air defense system. That has been used on U.S. ships for years now. Has also been adapted too be used by ground forces. Is mounted on a lowboy style Simi trailer. Is essentially the same gun. That is used in the A-10 Warthog Air craft. In which it's roll is as an anti tank weapons platform.
    Basically when you absolutely have to have something filled full of holes. Or want it to closely resemble Swiss cheese. It is the weapon of choice.

    • @SilverCrescent-lo6qw
      @SilverCrescent-lo6qw 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is wrong. The A-10 uses 30mm rounds. The Phalanx CIWS shoots 20mm rounds. The only similarity between the M61 Vulcan and the GAU-8 are they are rotary autocannons made by General Electric. They shoot different sized rounds, the Vulcan has 6 barrels to the GAUs 7, and the Vulcan can be driven by more methods than the GAU. I would agree the GAU may have used knowledge gained from the Vulcan in its development, but they are not the same gun. The dutch do use the GAU in their Goalkeeper CIWS.

    • @SilverCrescent-lo6qw
      @SilverCrescent-lo6qw 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The GAU also isnt effective as an anti-tank weapon and this has been known since before the turn of the century.

    That is called a "touch and go". Pilots do them when getting their flying hours in. It simulates both a landing and take off. They can do many in a row to get their hours in and keeps them from having to stop and start the engine. More efficient to do touch and go's than to do actual complete take offs and landings.

    The "bounce" is practice for touch-and-go on an aircraft carrier.

      Also if you have to get 50 flights a month to keep up your quals each "touchdown" counts as one.

    The big disadvantage of lasers they didn't mention. Lasers are line of sight weapons, and are limited because of this.

    You wouldn't just save on missiles but think of storage space you would save on the boat and logistics of getting them to the boat.

    For comparison allthough technologicly different. Simply put an interesting fact; Germany built 1,162 U-boats during World War II and 785 were destroyed by the end of the war. The remaining 377 U-boats were surrendered (or scuttled by the Germans). In contrast, U-boats sank about 3,000 Allied ships (merchant ships and warships).

    You can not shoot people with the laser. We have a treaty that says you can not shoot at people with a 50 cal or above. You can shoot equipment . A helmet is equipment and so is a web belt as well as any guns you are carrying.

    Why did he bounce and crack on?? he is performing FCLP's or Field Carrier Landing Practice. he is making an approach and touch and go as if he were landing on a carrier. Its just a way to keep the pilot up to speed on carrier landings without going to the carrier itself.

    Just poison all the Sailors, problem solved.
    Like they said in Starship Troopers, you cannot push a button without hands. You can only bang your head once or twice.
    Plus with no fuel and logistics most of the fleet is useless.

    Good video, except the subject-video's volume needed to be cranked up noticeably!
    The fighter that 'landed' briefly and then immediately took off again ... that's called a 'touch-n-go'; it's a practice maneuver, used for practicing various scenarios.

    There is the Air Force, The Navy have their own aircraft, to does the Marines and the United States Coast Guard, Just for fun the Marines Corp is larger than the entire UK armed force combined. There are 12 nuclear carriers in the world all American except one French carrier.

    You really need to turn your review video volume up. Over the past 4 videos I've watched, it's a flat out strain to hear what the video is telling you as you're reacting. Your volume is easily 3 x the volume of the video you're playing. Just thought you'd like to know. Don't turn down your volume, but crank it up a few notches on the video you're playing. Outside of that, love your takes on your reaction videos, keep it coming. Love hearing how our brothers across the pond see our military, among other things.

    5:39 i dont know why they would down grade it to this, in WW2 you had cannons as big as a house.
    multiple awesome ships with massive cannons like the IJN Yamato, USS Iowa, KMS Tirpitz and many others.
    the only thing i like about the new ships are the missles
    (this is just my opinion)

      cannons have kinda become obsolete in todays military as missiles are just so much more effective and have a much further range

    • @maryjoygelizon4268
      @maryjoygelizon4268 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cannons are old obsolete and inacurate only way those things can make a comeback is if they made laser and railgun cannons

    Most of the information is already Declassified so if our enemies wanted to read up on some of our weaponry and vehicles they can already do that it's the electronic warfare and radar systems that are mostly a close guarded Secret in certain aspects
