Enjoying the video - but note that a natural roll of one on a damage die deflects off and does no damage.

Having looked at the stat's for the Yamato I thought that I'd anticipated just how dangerous this ship is, clearly though I underestimated it!! That ship is brutal. Great Battle Report as always.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it 😊. It is a beast of a ship pumping out a great deal of Firepower. Future battles with it will be very interesting 😊

in the right hands situation competent leadership, yes.. kind of.
it had horrible a.a. that's why there were so many,,,most being open case no cover. funny but to this day its considered as sme heroic legend.
no idea why maybe as screen for the very poor command staff

I have always been a fan of Yamato. I am curious to see how she fairs with air defense...

Never show a battleship your broadside noob! :) Now you know why Japan created the Yamato. Just imagine if Musashi was there too. Great video. Thanks for the effort.

Really enjoying these Campaign Battle reports great job
I do have a question for anyone that has a big hardback rulebook do they have listings for early Dutch the early Japanese in the early American ships involved in the Malaysian Campaign?
I would like to incorporate that into my blood red skies air campaign and even Bolt action for infantry action in that theater.

      Thank you 👍🏻😊
Think you'll be able to do the Early US and Japanese ships for that. Not got the hardcover book yet, but I'm sure there is someone who can check.

    Are the ships prepainted?

    • @el-wargamer348
      @el-wargamer348  3 ปีที่แล้ว

No they come unpainted. However they are relatively easy and quick to paint with just a few colours. 🙂

Went about as I thought. As said Yamato was designed to kill US standard battleships. If memory serves Iowa is coming out and she might be able to match Yamato 1v1. Speed and accuracy VS pure brute strength.

I definitely need some reinforcements for my US Fleet. One or two will be on the list to buy 😁 perhaps a couple of aircraft carriers to help tackle the Yamato.

@@el-wargamer348 I'd prefer the senario that nearly happened at Leyte gulf with task force 34. A 4 battleship force was meant to deal with the Japanese capital ships. Iowa, New Jersey, Alabama and Washington and their escorts. But the carriers were spotted and Halsy took everything he could with him leaving the landings undefended save for a few escort carriers. He never left task force 34 and were denied what would have been the greatest clash of battleships since Jutland.

Interesting, great information thank you. That might be something I could try to get close to, with further researching of course. I'm Not very knowledgeable regarding US Naval organisations and operations, however willing to learn 👍🏻

@@el-wargamer348 US battle ships are kind of broken into two groups US standards which all have the same speed and were meant to fight in a line of battle WW1 style all had a 21 knot speed all but the Colorado's had 14 inch guns Colorado's had 16 inch and the fast battleships which in away are descended from HMS Hood and more suited for carrier task forces. The 2 North Carolina class capable of 28 knots the 4 South Dakota's also 28 knots and the 4 Iowa's 33 knots. All had 16 inch guns though Iowa's had 50 caliber barrels as opposed to the NC and SD's 45. Yamato was meant to fight and kill the US standard class ships and none of them save for maybe the Colorado class West Virgina post refit wouldn't' have stood a chance. The US fast battleships on the other had with their state of the art radar and fire control for the time were different animals. Yamato probably could Kill and NC or SD working alone, but in pairs are extreme dangers to her and the Iowa's due to their speed which out matches Yamato's 27 knot speed by a lot could dictate the terms of engagement. In bad weather especially probably could take her 1 on 1 where her tech advantage really comes into play. Yamato only ever had a basic search radar.
