- Ever wondered how difficult is it to learn kitesurfing?
Wonder no more!
In this video I will follow beginners that are learning how to kite and share their experiences.
We cover the kite control, body drag and water start.
Most participants needed no longer than 10 hours of lessons in order to start riding.
Already kitesurfing?
Then check it out to remember how your first steps looked like.
I am still in the magnificent city of Nafpaktos and in this episode I will follow beginners that are learning how to kite!
Instructors: George, Ploutarxos and Asia from @windcircus5963
Riders: Anastasia, Maria, Emma, Nadia, George and Pashalis!
Great work to all of you guys! You nailed it!
Most of the lessons took place here in Nafpaktos.
Some groups also visited Dioni for lessons due to favourable wind conditions.
My riding is supported by @windcircus5963 www.TheSurfShop.gr and www.KiteZone.nl

Enjoy!
I laugh so much when I see people over send it on their water starts, but only because I remember doing the same when I was learning!
Nice to see the different ways people do waterstart... and certainly all the wrong ways that yet DO able them to actually ride... I learned to make myself really compact and small... 'rolling' on to the board and then stand up. I saw a lot of people here doing it not like that and wonder why... Because it made mine easier... (Still trying though).
Thanks for watching Bart! I found it also fascinating how many different way they found in order to stand up and ride :) I personally needed 4 hours + to stand on the board 😅
Definitely one of the easiest Watersport (vs surf or Windsurf) to be learned. Riding with style and commitment requires a lot of practice though
It depends on the conditions at learning area. At Cabarete it is much more difficult because on waves than at Soma Bay Egypt with flat water…
Mid elgouna hurghada is the best spot
It’s extremely hard to learn but worth it
Hell yeah!
😅😅😅 vamos
Fantastic. This brought back memories of my own water starts. So frustrating, but once you are up and away it is probably the best sport ever.
Thanks! I thought exactly the same when I was recording the people learning! It took me 14 hours to finally feel somehow confident :D Best sport ever! I couldn't agree more!!
Where is this?
This is in Nafpaktos, a small town in the main land of Greece blessed with constant winds. Dioni was also visited. Check my channel, I have separate videos about both places. th-cam.com/video/zAPKZrc_zLM/w-d-xo.html
The thing is once you master the waterstart you don’t Even understand how you were NOT able to get up in the beginning. It becomes so Natural at some Point 😂
Crazy right?? That's why I enjoyed so much making this video... It's humbling. Reminds you that no matter how advanced you are right now, you definitely did struggle to waterstart!!
Easy to learn hard to master, 10 hours is nothing 😅
100% agree! I personally needed 14 hours but I learned in the North Sea! That was super sketchy compared to flat water.
But feeling independent / confident it’s a matter of months!!
