    They cater to the mature customer their fragrances are more nuanced, sophisticated, a lot of them (especially the oud stars) are artistic. They arent for clubbing, or looking for compliments, or for the youth who just want a simple sweet smelling ambroxan fragrance that pumps out filling a room.

      but they are still overpriced. many better more mature alternatives for many of their fragrances.

      Way to avoid engaging with newcomers to this hobby. Xerjoff has been, and still is, shit. Just because they’ve increased their marketing budget in the past three years (which, I assume, is when you started this hobby) doesn’t mean they’re of high quality. And please don’t compare them to Chanel or try to lecture someone who has been in this hobby for years, like Rudy. It’s better to listen and learn.

      @s97alb99 you assume too much and dislike your nasty approach to people who have an opinion on fragrance brands. Also, the only thing to learn in this video is his sole opinion. He isn't teaching anything on the discipline of perfumery. Your approach is aggressive and disgusting when we are just having a simple discussion on perfumes of all things. Don't take things too personal ..it's almost as if frags are the only thing going for you. Trust me chanel themselves would not agree or disagree w the opinion of stating xerjoff is better than chanel (which if you ask me, they're equal)...and besides, sorry to put this to you, but chanel couldn't care less if they had you as supporte or not...especially you. Thanks.

    One thing I’ve noticed with every Xerjoff I’ve tried is the more I wear them, the less I like them. Also, far too many of their releases just smell like reinterpretations of other scents.
    Naxos is really not that great, and it’s barely a tobacco fragrance let alone one of the best like so many people claim. It’s primarily lavender, honey, and citrus.

    • @timetomuskup2

    This house is one I struggling with. Their releases are quite overwhelming. The ones that seem to be hyped up are sweet gourmands which is my least favorite family.
    Not writing them off just yet but definitely remember your points when I sample from this house again. 😅

    Yes I think the same. I've sampled a few Xerjoff fragrances but I just couldn't pull the trigger for purchasing full bottles. They are just "nice". That's it. I really like Naxos but I'm not sure about paying that price for a "just nice" honey and tobacco fragrance. Can you recommend me a better alternative to something like Naxos?

    Xerjoff is the only house I can actually smell all day .And I own different brands. To me Chanel is the most overrated and overpriced house . Once I use up my other fragrances I only going to buy Xerjoff . I own Alexandria II, Golden Moka, Symphorium and they were love at first try . plan to pick up 40 knots , Nexos . I find Uden a copy of Chanel allure Home but much better quality and depth. Guess Americans just not used to the Italian style perfumes . Here in Hungary Xerjoff is one of the most popular brands when it comes to Niche . Also price point . I only need 3 sprays and last me 12 hours instead of buying a French perfumes that constantly needs reapplying after 6-7 hours and have to use like 5-6 sprays per wear to get an actual performance

    I like the Torino 21 I got it because of the hype and I’m glad I picked that one up. I got it on discount and got to sample a few of them. Out of the samples the Apollonania one was pretty nice but it’s not a full bottle worthy one for me. I didn’t care for Naxos and I think it gets the most hype of them all. I’m glad I only have a sample of it. Another great video and Take care Rudy it’s always good to hear your thoughts. I think the next purchase for me will be Chanel Barittz

      Naxos is for sure the most hyped from the brand. Naxos was just way too strong and sweet for me. Imo, it’s not a tobacco fragrance, but many disagree.
      Chanel Biarritz is one of my favorites from the Les eaux collection. Amazing citrus cologne, imo. Best in class
      Let me know when you try it. Thanks for watching 🙏

    I have naxos, zefiro, and 1888 and I love all 3 of those. They are blended well, last long, good price from discounters, are not oppressive, I don't go nose blind to them, they don't settle down to clay or play dough on my skin. I don't think anyone could say Naxos is a bad fragrance maybe just not masculine enough for some people. Zefiro has incense and honey and is just awesome and makes me feel like a king on my way to visit baby Jesus.

    They make a range of easy to wear fragrances all the way up to some bold ones. Im grateful for the artistic lessons I have learned from their blends. 40 Knots is probably still my favorite but I wear my Uden clone the most of them. I just couldnt possibly justify the retail prices.

    I got the sample set from Xerjoff trying Via Cavour I, Mefisto Gentiluomo, Torino 21, 40 knots, Tony Iommi, Starlight, Erba Gold and La Capitale. All the gourmands had that play dough smell that you’re talking about, and even if it’s not play dough, it’s this old-timey vibe (old lady/man smell, to me). Erba Gold smelled like dumdum pop artificial fruit - a familiar old-lady scent from elementary school lol. Same with La Capitale. Starlight is a nice pure cardamom but again the combo gives off play dough a bit. Althair by PDM does the gourmand blending SO much better in my view. Coming from Althair to these is really jarring. Althair is so much better! Via Cavour I smelled like an old lady in a perfume department. Torino 21 was another shock, being a bit underwhelming - it stands out and smells super natural and fresh, but it’s a bit too grassy as if it’s the actual mint leaf and orange peel which is nice but seemed a bit flawed, getting too close to sour when I wanted effervescent.
    Naxos is different for me. I blind bought Naxos and didn’t like it at first, but I grew to like it a lot. I noticed that the tobacco note is that blended, slightly medicinal quality to the sweet florals rather than a distinct “smoking cigarette” note. I noticed if I focus on that slightly medicinal quality of the florals, then the tobacco aspect reveals itself in the form of a “perspective” on the qualities of the main honey/florals. Basically as if the honey/florals are blended so they “are” that tobacco note. Maybe that’s just what “good blending” means. Anyway I also noticed the tobacco super clearly when I sprayed on my brother and left the room and entered. There was a clear smokiness that was 100% clear, before quickly going noseblind to it or maybe in other words, the “perspective” shifts back to “sweet/florals” as the persisting backbone, while the smoky tobacco is still there pushing strong - just not detectable because it is the background of the fragrance that you already have gotten used to after breathing in the room for a while, only present as a slight menthol smell from then on. I really like it when I wear it. Though sometimes I worry a bit about the “medicinal” quality to it - if that’s what people are smelling, rather than the “nice smoky honey lavender Jasmine”.

      @@Zeegoner thank you for that break down, and thanks for watching. At the end of the day, it’s all about skin chemistry. Interesting how things can change on skin between two people

    • @Zeegoner
      @Zeegoner 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@timetomuskup2 No problem I felt inspired since I just tried that sample set lol. For Naxos, I think skin chemistry probably matters, but I think the main thing is where it seems you are “meant” to be noseblind to the tobacco note after basically a few seconds. I sprayed on two of my brothers actually, and it wasn’t like the smell was completely different to how it smells on me. The main thing was how surprisingly strong the scent seemed, when I re-entered the room - I think it seemed that way because I spent time in another room without smelling it, and then re-entered the room mid dry down for them. So the combination of the florals fading, smelling it suddenly when mid dry-down, plus the element of surprise, kind of made that tobacco more clear. I wonder if you would be able to pick it out trying a similar setup. Otherwise at the beginning with the top notes it really kind of only exists as a “perspective” on the florals.

      @Zeegoner 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@timetomuskup2 Idk I think body temperature is supposed to be more or less the same between people ~98.6 F. Room temperature was ~65 F. One thing was that there was a bit of sunlight exposure thru the window blinds. Also more likely: it may still not have actually been what you’re looking for - a clear tobacco note. It was still blended with light florals and honey - like a slight menthol “effect” or “perspective” in the florals, just a bit louder in this situation where I walked in.
