  • In Episode 9 Bugsy takes us down the NSW South Coast to fish for snapper on the inshore reefs using soft plastic lures. Bugsy makes his way down from Sydney to catch up with some old friends for an epic morning of fishing in the pristine waters we are fortunate to have in NSW. Gear used: Shimano Stradic FL 5000 reel, 20lb braid line, 20lb fluorocarbon leader with an old Penn Prodigy 6'6" 8-10kg boat rod. Lures are Gulp 5 inch yakka snak jerk shad and Zman 5 inch coconut ice jerk shad with a 1/4oz 4/0HD TT lures headlockz jig head

Great to hear you are enjoying some fishing on your journey, Lucky. Big salmon in WA and now sharks and catfish in the NT. Plenty of good water to fish up there. We will have to go for a fish with your Dad when you get back to Sydney. Thanks!

Awesome fishing as always , just want to know what sort of line you guys where using or that you recommend for those awesome snapper and what poundage is best for those fish , I tend to go to light and lose good fish and other times to heavy and can’t get a hook up lol . 👍

Cheers, I think 20lb braid and 20lb leader is a good all round set up for snapper when casting plastics, particularly if there are some bigger models around. I go down to a 12lb leader when it is slow to entice more bites
