Congrats on 1million TH-cam subscribers!
I was expecting a roast and they just kept giving compliments!
A true sign of fantastic song writing is when it can sound good in any genre. Well done guys, and to the people who submitted these too.
16:50 - Isabella woke up and chose violins.
ba dum _TSSSSSSSS_
10/10 pun absolutely dead rn
thats amazing. thank you for this
Deadddddd😂
Danny Yau's ability to play any instrument was UNBELIEVABLE and I sincerely hope he is getting all the chicks and dudes in the world
Isn’t he the one from the last cover reaction video with the SpongeBob bed sheets😂
He played every instruments he knows and yet he didn't win 😂 love his stuff
Using your platform to showcase these other talented individuals is so amazing. Thank you as a listener and on their behalf. Unforgettable example of giving back in a really personal and beautiful way.

That was by far the most impressive shit in this whole video, idgaf
This pianist is crazy; those lines are so clean I could eat off em
I totally expected Polyphia to be dicks to their fans (only cause other bands have done that to their own fans - which is a totally crappy move) but nah dude - these guys were just nice dudes. Props to you all. Stay cool.
To be fair I expect a roast to be rough
@@jeanpitre5789 Yes - I do agree - if it was to a buddy or someone close. But when someone famous rips their fans, when the fan base is the only reason they are famous in the first place - I lose a ton of respect for the celebrity. It shows the ego has taken over. When famous people are appreciative and respectful to their fans - understanding the fans are the ones that allow them to have their standard of living and fame - it's much more.... wholesome?!!?
Their clickbait worked (on me too)
@@drewp.wiener1205 that's the point of a roast though. It's all in good fun
missed an opportunity to start the video with one previously agreed collab video where they'd go real hard roasting someone but then it would be this video after the pun, tho
2:08 Tim : "Oh he's harmoniccing this part?" *Scratching his ear* 'Shit why didn't I think about that before?!' hahaha
the fact that they were inspired by their covers is a true testament to that winner's skill. he really deserved it
The level of the Polyphia fans is absolutely next level… I can tell these guys are absolutely proud of their fan base, and that can’t be bought with money. I would have had a hard time picking between Yau and the actual winner, one for his incredible amount of musical versatility and the second for the purest and cleanest talent
Watching Polyphia enjoying covers of their own songs is just awesome. And so many super skilled musicians!
Seeing real people play their music gives me hope that I, as a human being can learn these songs.
Sus 👽
EEEEEEE omgomg thank u for reacting :'D !!! so happy to b in this video !!
Bro it's so refreshing to see a band that has the skills to be at the level your at and still just be a bunch of chill guys I could totally see chilling with. Thanks for giving us all hope for the industry. Stay epic you guys.
Pretty sure you have to be chill to get along in a band and travel in small quarters and deal with one another night after night. I almost think people skills are more important than musicianship for a successful band to make it. So many great bands have broken up due to bad attitudes and egos.
Polyphia is like the coolest band ive ever seen. Their vibe, their, chemistry, the way they interact with one another and have respect for everyone...
Danny put out the every main riff on every instrument video before the album even dropped in the US. He's incredible.
I’m so glad that dude won! All covers were amazing but his finger style with the back beat drum solo and all was epic!
Bass volte at 18:09 has something alot of bass players lack nowadays: Groove. Obviously he plays incredible, and his incredibly skilled aswell, but daaamn his flow is gorgeous!
I (sadly) just discovered Polyphia, and am beyond impressed with their talent. Moreover, I am captivated with the respect they show their fans and the support they gave every one of these musicians in this "contest". Not one negative word was uttered.
Polyphia has my total respect✌
Always okay to be a new fan of something :)
Same, sad i missed a lot of the initial hype. It seemed fun.
@@rionsignorelli9993 unless that something is Taylor Swift, or so I've heard
Tim: I'm gonna have to cover his cover 😂
Scottie: Remember That You Will Cry 😂
I love how Clay looks so proud as a mentor to his mentee 😁
Danny coming in with 2 and a half entries!!! Wooohh!
Also 11:57 & 20:35
Lastly, congrats to the winner.
Paolo Gans, dope rendition! 👌
I like that once Clay sees his student, he sits up and analyzes like a good teacher would and probably will have some wisdom to give him later.
Timestamp?
Love how the title says "Polyphia Roasts Fan Covers" and it's just 20 min of the being impressed.
This is Canada's version of "roasting"! God bless you guys and thank you for bringing your humbleness, kindness and your otherworldly music into this plane of existence.. muey bien!
I'm getting old , 63 coming up in August. I found out about you all just a few days ago and am now inspired to relearn guitar in a completely different light. Was raised on country like Hank Williams, Buck Owens and went into punk rock such as Ramones, The Clash, The Germs and many more. Drifted into the blues via SRV and Buddy Guy and now here I am. Excited to learn how to play what you all have come up with. Keep being creative and geniuses!
That's awesome man. I keep seeing comments like yours and I think it's great that polyphia's sound can be appreciated by people 30 years older than myself who grew up on a completely different era of music. It speaks volumes to their level of talent.
Tim your brother introduced me to your music. Short story. I am a trainer at Citibank and he was my trainee. He introduced himself to the class and stated you were his brother and to check out his music since he knew I was a musician as well. Your playing abilities, your band, and your fans wowed me. Enjoyed it.
Are they from another planet?😅
Is his brother Chris Herria?
@@Ten_Thousand_Locusts no, his brother's name is michael
@@cattamalon he was making a joke because a lot of people say that Tim looks like Chris' little brother. They even did a YT video.
Does his brother also have a Florence Henderson hairdo?
Winner TOTALLY deserved it!! I loved his cover !!
It’s so cool how instead of playing it exactly how Tim does, the first couple guys put their own twist on it. That’s what a real cover should be
You guys have created a world of prodigies. They were all insanely talented and congratulations to the winner, I know I couldn't have picked a favorite.
Huge congrats to the winner, totally killed it with the percussions added !
I would have loved to see them react to my cover, but I hope that there will be more cover contest like that, it's such a good idea !
4 hour reaction video when!?
@@joelmorningstar3645 I wish lmao
@@Nysek Link your vid here bro
@@blecera28 It's on my channel main page :)
Just click my profile picture and it should lead you to it
Good to see Danny Yau getting some love. He's basicly dedicated his channel to you guys.
all of these are good, some are insane (especially the winner) but the cover that stuck with me the most was the vocal cover that started at around 7:29. Loved that on its own, would love to have it on Spotify. Loved the "eerie" feeling of the entire song. Amazing musicality.
This was fantastic. More bands need to follow this exact format. It's the recognition that these incredible musicians deserve.
Ahmed on the piano was my favorite by far. I love how the song sounds on piano and its awesome to see it played by a person instead of programmed.
Thanks :D
So real. Pinaist here for almost 20 years and I can’t even play the main riff cleanly
@@Ahmed-vn6kt great job man
Love how both Clays sit up for their respective instrument covers lmao
17:08 Clay A
18:06 Clay G
man i think the first one just made others vanish, BUT this harmonic guy just fk*** nailed every single note jesus, gotta show respect for that man
13:50 tim just saying,'' wtf is that'', is the best part of this video
14:06
I have no idea why this video was on my feed. I never even heard of Polyphia before.... But man am I glad I came across this. I got you guys on repeat now.
Same as well 😂 i guess youtube already enough with tiktok music shit and want us comeback learn proggresive chord
@@fernandodoceyeahthat’s just a majority of anime watchers. Source: I need medical attention from all the anime intros I’ve listened to.
I know right, youtube was like "Do you like music at all? Well you'll like this." And they weren't wrong at all
TH-cam is a strange mistress. First I saw Rick Beato video with the guitarist of this band as a guest, next thing you know youtube sends a bunch of videos of his band my way.
Not really my style of music though, but It's something fresh and relatively new.
They do seem like really cool guys though.
That pianist around 7 mins was SICK. Such a relaxed technique. That violinist and harmonica player was super sick tol. And they guy that played multiple strung instruments
If you guys are interested in learning more about the marimba grops, there's 3 main recognized ones. Musser-Stevens is probably the most common. I play Traditional which is more commonly taught in Japan.
i havent played marimba in 9 years now and i still have bumps on my fingers from stevens grip lmao
the one at 7 min is almost certainly faked with an AI piano generator thing
Danny Yau pulling out various instruments from around the world and nailing each one cracks me up.
I swear Tim's "wtf is that?" at 13:51 cracked me up everytime I hear it 😂😂
My new message alert tone
It's a pipa i think
@@summeronio9751 Lute
Same! It gets me every time.
@@Trooman20 it’s a pipa which is a type of lute
So wholesome. I came in expecting a roast and these guys just appreciate their fans instead. Love it.
When I said in one of my reactions that Polyphia was going to ignite and bring monster talented musicians around the world to step into new possibilities, this video shows that it's happening. The real +20 Fire 🔥 Damage is the way Polyphia sits there and just joys over the performances!! Damn, I'm a real fan...... AWWWRIGHT!!
the piano one with the resolution into hope into dark is so good i can't even explain. This girl simply understands music theory hehe
