I think it’s trauma bonding like she said in the beginning their trauma is what connected them so she doesn’t want to let him go because he’s the one person who understands her but he’s causing her more trauma and I think he’s breaking her down so she depends on him for love and affection

That “tough love” statement…I dated a person with Narcissistic Personality Disorder and he lived and died by that statement. He felt God put him on earth to show others tough love. It was completely dismissed. She played victim the whole show. Being the mediator you have to get on both. If not, one will feel more important than the other as if they do no wrong. And that's just what happened in this case.
