For cake we should use both the heaters else the crust will not get brown. Using only bottom heater for first 20-25 mins give you good rise but at the end you have to turn the top heater to brown it crust.

Sis for baking both rod on and usually on 180 degree
I kept both rods on at 180 for 50 min but still it is not cooked from center
