Roleplaying his surface thoughts so seamlessly is so great.
Incredible bit.
Lou is a genius
Not protesting about it as well shows great trust, like they've all earned it from each other at this point
If it's missing one thing; it's the full gamblers mentality of "wdym I'm not gonna lose my money!"
I love how Brennan just sits back not even touching this one, yup, he's got it handled
That's what makes Brennan great... there are 0 rolls here as he's being "interrogated", a spell is cast, and the effects are immediately seen(again, no roll to resist the spell).
When your players want toRP, you let them RP damnit!
Lol yep, sometimes the best way to dm is to let your players shine bright
@@gremlinbd Brennan had no reason to even ask for a roll. RAW you don't roll a saving throw when someone merely tries to read surface thoughts, only for keeping them to probe deeper into your mind.
YUP! Just sitting there! Sipping the tea! 🤣
He's always waiting for an opportunity to have a snack break
Lou is really great at roleplaying. Him and Brennan are just magical together. "Mess with the goat, GET THE HORNS"
Eat trash, beat trash! 🤘
Goat house! Eat trash, Beat trash!
Eat trash, beat trash.
Eat trash beat trash™
Goat house!
"Hes very confident about this idea."
I love how Brennan is just drinking his beverage and letting this play out on its own. Lol
Snack time!
@@Imperial_Squid The man is in constant need of almonds, after all.
Lou is so in the pocket when it comes to Gunnie. Masterful work from all them really.
I actually didn't pick up that Lou was RPing his thoughts, I just assumed Gunnie was saying he wouldn't gamble and then IMMEDIATELY backpedaling lmao
Yeah I thought he just kept back-pedalling on his statements, so nobody could really call him out on it
yeah i guess the visual helps
Fhhdhdhshdhdhdjsjw yeah the visual helps haha. But it would be EXTREMELY funny if he was just saying it by mistake
I was listening while driving so I didn't get to see the mannerisms that have away the inner monologue before. 😂
I mean, if you're paying attention to what literally happens before it then it makes perfect sense... lol
This Season keeps proving the cast has reached a while other level of chemistry and familiarity with each other
When your enabler is your own self LOL XD
I love seeing Brennan just sit back with a drink and watch that absolutely amazing comedic display Lou Wilson delivered.
Love the follow up to this about trying to persuade his crewmates to invest in it.
The visual representation between his words and his thoughts is so brilliantly done
This is an incredible act of high level improv from Lou, doing both his out loud responses and his internal ones so seamlessly
I love when actual actors play D&D, their humor just FLOWS
Hehe, nice
Lou is so good at embodying his characters
He basically uses parenthesis in order to convey his inner thoughts to the mind reader. It’s… Absolutely amazing.
Brennans casual mug sip of "Oh cool Lou's talking, I get to take a break"
I love how they didn't even stop to roll dice, just let it happen
I love how Brennan just sits back and has a drink as this plays out in front of him.
big shout out to the editing work on both the text coloring and the reaction shot inserts, 10/10
It's called quality assurance 😂
I listen to the episodes while I'm at work, so during this section I didn't actually realize that these were gunnie's thoughts, I thought that he was saying all of this out loud, but this is even funnier with the visual of him switching back and forth between surface and outer thoughts. These guys is improv ability and humor is truly top-notch and fantastic. I would love to be able to find a group of friends like this someday.
The fact that these are his thoughts means he's deluded himself into believing he will actually be a supervisor and not just gambling 24/7.
Or he is lying to the party.
Thinking in his head he will be true to his word and do what he wants as well.
@@znuffyztruggles5744 thats what i meant.
The cut to Brennan just, sipping his drink 😭🤣
Perfect RPing by Lou + Emily and Ally just yucking it up is just *chef's kiss* XD
thank you lou. amazing thoughts.
Great outer inner monolog!
I love that no roll was needed, gunny knew he would definitely fail, cause there's no way he would lie to himself😂😂😂
I love how clearly he manages to distinguish between what he's *saying* and what he's *thinking*.
I can watch Emily laugh all day. She's just adorable.
So I just immediately think of having a security guard disguised as a player to try to catch cheaters which would actually be a genius strategy at a casino
lou is so good 😭😭💕💕
Man, Lou is just a treasure!
I love that Emily's eyeshadow matches her shirt
Omg the cut in on Emily's face! 😂
You lead by example, by having fun
Brother that transition from the ending to the beginning is so DAM Clean
This is genuinely some incredibly great rp.
this was so well executed by Lou... it's brilliant
Ali’s cackle is everything
Ally’s CACKLING I love them so much
Ali Beardsley's laugh makes my entire life so much better
Lol I absolutely love how well he acted that out!
This man knows his character so well he can ligit say what the character would say and the thinking process to justify what they are saying while also going back on their words and it is peer genius writing/story telling
“Almond break time”-Brennan
Brennan, casually takes a sip while everyone else is losing their minds. What a madlad
The combination of southern twang and mind reading in this bit gives me real strong Imogen vibes from CR S3.
Ally’s cackle ❤
Every time I hear Gunnie, I think marine Gunnery Sergeant.
THIS is how you role-play your character effectively with story telling and character development!! Everyone is laughing in agreement that is how Gunney would respond to that question💯
My inner thoughts: Gamble gamble gamble gamble. are you gambling yet?
Lou's characters are typically my favorite!! They always bring a certain compassion and hilarity that I can't stop watching!
Love this and how he shows both outside and inside thought😊
I love how Lou roleplayed his thoughts at the same time. Lol
Emily has a convincing southern belle accent.
Man I love Lou he's so damn talented
Brennon sipping his drink watching this unfold
Have an awesome day everyone!
That southern twang 🥵
This is one of my all time favourite bits
I fucking love Lou so damn much 😂😂 he’s too fucking good with his roleplay and he’s super fucking funny
He sounds like the beginnings of Shigetchi's voice lol
Lou fucking understood that assignment.
He's definitely going to loose all his money to his own casino
True leaders lead by example
Me arguing to myself about purchasing my kids a new game system
Lou is literally everything to me
Bet this was snack time for Brennan
he sounds like eggman- specifically, the sonic fan dub thingy
The thing is, since he owns the casino, he really can't lose, can he? Any money he "loses" goes right back to the ship. He's LITERALLY playing with House Money
I like to imagine he runs out and just opens up one of the slot machines to take as much money as he feels like to keep going.
I mean, if he loses money that money goes to the ship bag, everyone has their own money and some aside for the ship, so it's like a swear jar essentially
Lou managing to be himself lying and his honest thoughts is great.
Gunnie needs to learn "don't get high on your own supply." That's why pit bosses don't gamble, at least not on the tables they're overseeing.
Also, for how many episodes now I've been worried at the shocking accuracy of Lou's RP of gambling addiction that I was concerned he might actually have the addiction and puts it in the game because it's become his personality, like how Orion Acaba (formerly of Critrole) literally had a character named after Quaaludes.
Thankfully, this scene kinda shows he's self-aware enough and he's only playing a character going on self-destruction, and not because he thinks "gambling is cool and losing all your life savings is a small price to pay for the eventual big win you're bound to get, any day now."
I'm pretty sure pit bosses don't gamble in tables they're overseeing because that's completely illegal basically everywhere. For fairly obvious reasons.
I don't know about gambling addiction specifically, but it's clear that Gunnie has very poor impulse control and jumps into everything without thinking them through. He's very consistent about portraying that part of Gunnie's problems are brought on by his own refusal to slow down and think - whether it be wanting to be a spacer in the first place, dismissing the need for insurance out of hand, buying an expensive cyborg body with All The Trimmings that he can barely afford to keep up on the interest for, deciding to gamble and then CHEAT at gambling and then just fucking running away rather than let himself be thrown out, etc. And now he's opening up a great big temptation on his own ship. The gambling is just part of the bigger problem. And i think it's pretty clear that this isn't Lou doing his own thing, he chose to play a character like this and is enjoying playing them, even with the consequences of it.
@@Morhek There are studies that there's a clear genetic component to addiction, so it's not just "Gunny has low impulse control." There's a definite need to fill an empty hole inside you. The addiction tries to fill that hole, either with the empty promise of winning big and getting to throw money at all your problems, or in the case of other forms of addiction, the chance to just forget it for a few hours while you game/drink/shoot up/fuck.
And I think every other character serves as a counterpoint to the idea that Gunny's main problem is impulse control, because he's not the only one with impulse control problems. Slug Skip is quick on the murder. Riva can't lie, whether explicitly or by omission. Marge is hung up on "her roommate/friend". Big Barry Syxx has unresolved issues about Barry Nyne.
Out of all of them, only Barry got into the gambling with Gunny, and he _immediately_ regrets it like a relatively functional human.
I don't know anything about actual gambling addictions but from the other seasons of Dimension 20 I can totally see Lou just being a good enough actor to pull this off. Gunnie is just rash with his decisions which is fun to see him play that because since Fabian Lou has been playing very strong leaders like Amathar and FUCK I CANT REMEMBER HIS NAME BUT THE VOX POPULI
@@jasonninja55 Kingston Brown, Vox Populi
Emily’s eyeshadow omg
my second D20 game i watched all the way through. THE BALL IS ROLLING UP! would love a second season
His mind is Serene well what's going on in front of him seems to be chaos
This series is cracking me up.
He’s totally gonna lose everything 🤣💀🤣👍🏽
I don't think gunnie is gonna gamble guys
Wow, Lou is good 👏👏
There was absolutely no need to read his mind. LOL
Ally's Cackle is sending me.
too good.
He seems like he’s trying to convince himself
Thats a really funny way to do mind reading
Honestly, you didn't even need to read his mind to know. Oh, wait, he could do a Nat 20 deception check.
Funny, even funnier if he mixed the voices up soy he said he thoughts out loud
GREAT PLAYER
Hahahahaa amazing
Don’t get high off of your supply.
Why is his internal monolouge George Costanza lol
I haven't received a birthday gift from my family for ten years. Last year I ask my wife what day it was. And she said Thursday.
I speak like this guy...
Love ittyyyyy
Its great
Well Done🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍👍👍
Realistically, he could get free chips, right?
Lossing money to your own cassino is a good as way of laundering money
JOJO reference
YES!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!! YES!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!
I’ve never heard of the spell probe mind, is it just reflavored or is it something 3.5e?
Can I just say that as an outsider seeing these clips that this is the First FULL season to NOT feature Brennan as the funniest?! I mean sure every other clip sesh has their moments but this one seems like Brennan has truly ans FINALY been eclipsed by his players. I can only envy the soce and environment necessary to truly live as another person in this D20 kind of life!!! You are all amazing and loved!
