@@OverYou-tr5ok your salvation did not pay for your future sins! Believing in Jesus does not get you a license to sin. Thats ridiculous and an offense against God's mercy. Do not say hereafter you were not warned. Dont fall for Luther's deceit. In Matthew's Gospel (12:32), Jesus states “whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come” - implying there are at least some sins that can't be forgiven in the next life. Why Do We Pray for the Dead? St Paul 1 Corinthians 3:11~15 2 Maccabees 12:46 Thus he made atonement for the dead that they might be absolved from their sin. Protestants: the word purgatory is not in the bible Catholic answer: the word holy trinity is not in the bible, neither is the phrase make jesus your personal lord and savior, personal relationship with jesus, the sinners prayer, Matthew 5:48 you therefore must be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect Revelation 21:27 but nothing unclean shall enter it nor anyone who practices abomination or falsehood Hebrews 12:23 Historically the Jews believed in this purification process and to this day pray for the dead as well as do Orthodox Christians. EVERY major Christian denomination has major doctrines that are based on implicit evidence in the bible. Similarly there are many passages that describe purgatory. And Protestants should NOT hold Catholics to a standard they are not willing to hold themselves to. Purgatory is for the saved only. Scriptures referring to Purgatory (incl above) : Matt 5.23-26 Matt 18.33-34 Mark 9.47-48 Mark 9.49-50 Mark 12.27 Luke 3:9 Luke 10.16 Luke 11.4 Luke 12.43-48 Luke 12.49-53 Luke 12.57-59 Luke 16.1-8 Luke 20.35-38 John 14.6 John 15:2 1 Cor 3.12-17 1 Peter 1.6-7 Rev 15.2-3 Rev 22.12-13
Those scriptures have absolutely nothing to do with the so-called Catholic purgatory. They have been taken way out of context. There is no Purgatory, Purgatory is just another Catholic fantasy.
@@benjaminfalzon4622 Is that your explanation? "Those scriptures have nothing to do with the so-called Catholic purgatory." I was hoping you would respond to """ The word holy trinity is not in the bible, neither is the phrase make Jesus your personal lord and savior, personal relationship with Jesus, The Word Rapture is not in the bible, By Faith Alone is not in the bible either, the sinners' prayer," What do you say about that " @benjaminfalzon4622 "
@@margot9373 None of those phrases you mentioned are in the Bible, God is not a Trinity. The Trinity doctrine is false".The Holy Spirit is the divine power of God, not a Person". Jesus debunked the doctrine of the Trinity when he said. "I and the Father are one" John 10:30. and. "If you have seen me, you have also seen the Father".John 14:9...In neither of those two scriptures did Jesus mention the Holy Spirit as the third person. The doctrine of the Trinity, the Rapture, making Jesus your personal Lord and Saviour, none of those things come from the Holy Bible. And since they're not in the Bible they are not from God. Having said that. If you rather believe what men say, instead of believing what God says, then go ahead, that's your right to believe whoever you want to believe...
I dreamed of my dad sitting on the ground looking so sad and sitting quietly (like a town beggar) my mom had mass offered twice and my sister and I prayed rosaries..I dreamed of him again...he was riding a bicycle 🚲 that we were holding headed to a birthday party...that was last year December (Jesus birthday month). I never dreamed of him again. My mom dreamed of him a few months ago he was eating at the table like a dinner feast. I think he is in heaven now..keep praying for your family members who have passed on..
The Bible is clear not to pray for the dead. The Bible says the dead lie in rest and know nothing until the second coming of Jesus Christ. Please read and study the Bible!
@@romandaigle455 Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Matthew 17: 3 Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus. That doesn't look they know nothing to me. Luke 16:19-31 is the parable of Lazarus and rich man. Revelation 5:8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. What we are not supposed to do and is a sin and rightly denounced is necromancy. Necromancy is forbidden today, as well. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states: “All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to ‘unveil’ the future” In necromancy, people attempt to contact the dead to obtain information from them-either about the future or about other matters that are hidden from the inquirer. The flow of information is supposed to be from the dead to the living. Intercession, however, we are not seeking information. We are asking the saints to partner with us in prayer to God. If anything, the flow of information is from the living to the dead-that is, a living person is making his prayer request known to a departed saint.
"If only you knew, how pure we must be to see the face of God. Pray. Pray and do penance for me; who can no longer help myself." Talk about convicting.
Dad was a good guy who received Communion each week -- he had some bad habits (racism being the chief one) -- after death, I saw him in a dream and he was in shadows and quiet but very sad -- I had prayers and Masses for him -- some time later he appeared -- there was a bright sun shining on a parade of happy people marching down a street -- last in the parade was my Dad -- he was extremely happy
Wow, what a crock of bull. Hey, sorry, pal, but if your dad wasn't a born again believer in Jesus, he cannot see the Kingdom of God, just like anyone else. I don't care how many times he "appeared" to you! And also, receiving Catholic Communion every week doesn't save you, only faith in Christ finished work on the cross does that! READ YOUR Bibles!! Let the holy spirit be your guide not any Church organization!!
@@Unique_Monk Matthew 5:22 But I say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother shall be liable to the council, and whoever says, “You fool!” shall be liable to the hell of fire. It is only the third sort of offense which is punished with hell; therefore in the judgment of God after this life there are other pains which are not eternal or infernal - these are the pains of Purgatory. Matthew 5:26 Truly, I say to you, you will never get out till you have paid the last penny. The “prison” alluded to is purgatory while the “penny” represents the most minor sins that one commits. Matthew 12:32 And whoever says a word against the Son of man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. If this sin cannot be forgiven after death, it follows that there are others which can be, and this must be in purgatory. 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 For no other foundation can any one lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any one builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw - each man's work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire. This is a clear and obvious allusion to purgatory. Lk 12:42-48 The Lord answered, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns. Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. But suppose the servant says to himself, ‘My master is taking a long time in coming,’ and he then begins to beat the other servants, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers. “The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. This is self explained... So much evidence for purgatory, and the age old argument, ''but purgatory isn't mentioned in the Bible'', is weak. The word ''Trinity'' is nowhere to be found but we conclude it from the texts. You can call purgatory a cleanatory, a holy shower, a holy fire, a cleansing fire if you want, it doesn't take away from the fact that it exists and is found, as I have shown, in a lot of verses in the Bible.
@@Unique_Monk Sorry...but there is....LUKE 12; 41 - 47 (The Master and his servants, depending on how they perform their allotted tasks, one gets rewarded with heaven, the other hell, the third "light" temporary punishment, which means purgatory......Thank-you
Pray fervently for the souls in Purgatory. Ask to complete your purification in this life. Wear the Brown Scapular and pray the rosary. Trust in the Divine Mercy and fear nothing.
I had a dream of my deceased cousin a few months after he died. While he was alive we had a pact that which ever one of us died first we'd let the other one know if there was life after death because he didn't believe in it. I was raised Catholic. He was more or less an agnostic. He appeared to me in a dream and asked for prayer. When I saw him he looked young and healthy and was standing in an arched doorway. He left me the impression that he was stuck and couldn't move forward. I telepathically said are you in hell and he said no, but not in Heaven either. I asked him what he needed and did he need me to pray for him. He said yes. When I woke up I cried so hard because I missed him and the dream was so vivid. I prayed the rosary for him on my way to work and continued to pray for him. I hope he's ok now and with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Have masses said for him. If you have the means, have Gregorian masses (30 consecutive masses) for his soul. It can be pricey though. If not, have 1 or more masses said for his soul. Pray the rosary for his soul. Pray St. Gertrude prayer for him. Hugs.
When my brother died I would have nightmares about him suffering and it went on for a year or so it even caused me to have mental issues then after about a year or so he came to me in my dreams and he was at my grandma house and he was talking to my Tia I keep asking her do you see him she said yes and then he turned over to me before I say he was in a long white gown and looked radiant he looked at me and said I’m okay and he walked out the door into a cloud and I never had the nightmares again even tho I still suffered with my mental state I found comfort can God allow the passed on to visit us? But I am comforted by this
Life on this earth IS NOT purgatory, NOR is this hell as others have claimed. This is our proving ground, our test. According to mystics and visionaries, most people, unfortunately, don't make it to purgatory. Once you die, the state of your immortal soul is set in place. It is said that God doesn't send anyone to hell. When souls see the mighty goodness of God, they realize that they are not worthy and their pride takes over. Also, this is the time that satan the accuser has one last shot at you and he comes with a vengeance. Also, most people are their own worst critics and have a much easier time forgiving others but have a very difficult time forgiving themselves. Mix all this together (God's immense goodness, your own pride and ego and difficulty forgiving yourself AND satan's accusations) most people know they deserve hell and their righteous dignity will not allow themselves to plead for God's forgiveness and end up in the hot place.

So, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved it by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us, show us, who did? For this reason everyone should be wearing the Brown Scapular. The Brown Scapular has what is known as the Sabbatine Privilege. It’s basically a shortening of one’s soul in Purgatory due to our blessed Mothers intercession.

I am in Purgatory on Earth now and have been for one and a half years (1.5}. I am suffering from disabling and painful medical Injuries to my Ears. I have asked the Lord God Jesus why I have been punished now and I believe that this is so that I may be Sanctified in this life and be spared the much more Painful after-death PURGATORY. I call myself a Born Again Christian but that does not exempt me from the Purification and Atonement required for my Sins. It is almost certain that Ninety-nine Percent (99 %) of all Christians MUST GO through Purgatory here or PURGATORY in the after-life. I would advise all Christians to stop Sinning a.s.a.p., to Repent, to Forgive and to be Baptized. If you are spared Purgatory altogether you are TRULY Blessed and you should thank the Lord God Jesus for this Blessing every day.
That is exactly what I was thinking 🤔. With the Baptism the original sin is washed away and as a child your soul is considered pure. Also I found it strange that the Rosary was wrapped around the wrist like a kind of bracelet. In Europe it has to be handled with maximum respect and keep it safe and protected until prayer …
Do you know in the apparition of Fatima, Lucia or Jacinta asked to the Virgin Mary if they would go to heaven, she said yes, but Francisco needed to pray a lot of ROSARIES before to go to heaven. He must have had some weaknesses or small lacks of generosity that needed to be corrected. He was 9 years old
Do you really believe that such a place is biblical? Are you sure that Rome is being honest with you? Perhaps there were and are other motives for creating such a teaching...
@@mack6429 Man, that biography from st. Perpetua was around II century, same period in which Rome was still killing cristians... There were other christian communities, why this fixation about Rome? Also, Lord Jesus said about servant being punished when the master came, while one servant was drunk, this one was split in half, while others servant just got whipped but less and less times, as long their responsabilities were smaller, but they didnt died like the first drunk servant (split in half). Other passage, Jesus said about leaving things at altar to ask forguivness to the brother you offended, then continue what you were doing. The continuing versicules are interesting, if you dont that, specially if you never talk to the person again, if you never ask forgivness to God about certain sins in the past (because of own pride, shame, lack of knowledge, whatever the reason), but you will be jugded to pay until the last cent, specially if you made someone fall into hell. Thats why its important to pray for others, not just self. Another passage in which is said our doings would be measured, in someway by fire... Lets remember, one choir of angels are like pilar of fire, naturally they arent suffering, as they are sinless... but what about us? At moment of death, would we be with fine conscience, without sins? do we even remember to ask lord to forgive our small sins before the last breath? Some people have sudden deaths/accidents, and dont have time to ask anything.
No, I did not realize that purgatory was that horrific, it's good to know as we can clean up our lives as soon as possible because I thought purgatory was probably a piece of cake. Thanks Adrian for all your videos they're awesome and God Bless.
Hebrews 9:27 tells us we are to die once and then face our judgement. There is no special place where you are to go until you are good enough to be with God. Is the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross not enough to wash all of your sins away? No amount of others praying for you to go to heaven will get you into heaven.
@@glennherron9499 Purgatory is part of God's judgement. It is for all who die in God's grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of Heaven. The Church gives the name Purgatory to this final purification of the elect. It is not a mulligan or do-over it is the continuation of the purification we didn't complete here on earth. It is a mercy of God's divine justice. That is because nothing unclean can enter Heaven as stated in Rev. 21-27. 1 Corinthians 3:15 If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. Yes at baptism we are born again and made co-heirs with Christ. Yes at baptism all sin including original sin is forgiven. Yes at baptism we are marked by the Holy Spirit with the Seal of Life. Yet certain temporal consequences of sin remain in the baptized, such as suffering, illness, death, frailties, character weakness, and our inclination to sin are left for us to wrestle with. It is through our Filial adoption and cooperation with God that we earn merit. The merit of man before God in the Christian life arises from the fact that God has freely chosen to associate man with the work of his grace. The merit of our good works is to be attributed in the first place to the grace of God, then to us.

Thank you for your apostolate Adrian! I think we must ask, how are we to understand such stories? Catherine of Genoa offered a vision of purgatory that suggested that the joy of the soul in purgatory exceeds any joy possible on Earth and can be compared only to the joy of those who had attained Heaven. How then do we reconcile these contradictions among the mystics of the church? I think the following points can help: 1/ These visions belong to private revelation, not commanding of belief by the church. And that naturally includes St. Catherine’s statement. 2/ The visions of the suffering of purgatory might well be symbolic of spiritual realities in which these contradictions are reconciled in ways we cannot understand in this world. There are other questions that need to asked as well. Does punishment purify? If so, how? Are not other things needed as well such as healing and instruction? Why do we never hear of purgatory except in punitive terms?
I believe if we offer up our suffering and unite it with JESUS suffering there is merit. As even the Fruit or Gift (I forget which) long suffering is a Gift I believe We are to offer up as the disciples and saints did
Yes I have a story on my father whom I was very close too, whom died 10 years ago. You would have to interview me I think. All the neigbours have seen my father and my good Catholic friend he spoke too.
Most stories involving people I know involve being visited by ghosts. One woman's dead brother would stand and stare at the foot of her bed. She offered masses for him and he stopped visiting her.
I know of God's Power...I was raised on it. I really need to try harder to be the best person I can be. This is why I'm Happy to be a Child of Mary through ANF I love all the prayers and Rosaries we do all over. God Bless you...
@ABC-1234 Of course we are children of God. Jesus also gave us Mary as our Spiritual Mother and guide to follow and bring us closer to her Mighty Son Jesus Christ. The woman who is so loved and adored by God that she was picked to be the bearer of the Mighty Word of God, the logos incarnated who became the Son of Man. The woman who became the new Eve and Eve’s redeemer, who fought the temptations of Satan and followed God’s will to the end. Therefore, Mary is the Ark of the New Covenant and our Mother in the new Covenant-the Mother who birthed our Lord and Savior.
@@ABC-1234- And tell me how it’s unbiblical. And better yet, tell me why your interpretation of scripture is correct or more valid than the Church Fathers in the first, second, and third centuries, virtually all of whom validated and affirmed Catholic teaching. You will find very few if ANY Christians and Church Fathers in the first and three centuries who didn’t believe that Mary was our Mother and our great intercessor and guide, the new Eve who God always favored among women and who Jesus adored. Even Martin Luther, who started Protestantism, adored Mary and in his own words, said “she is second only to her son in deserving our veneration and adoration.” So again: tell me how it’s unbiblical. Because I can easily show you how it IS biblical.
I believe that Purgatory is an instrument of God's mercy. I see it as a place of contemplation where we are shown the results of our sins to their furthest consequences. We must then accept responsibility and repent before we are purged. For some people this can take a long time. We must give up our worldly attachments and desires and come to the realization that God is the only lasting good. Peace to all out there. Love God first in your life.
Pray, fast and do lots of charity! Charity washes away a multitude of sin. Go to confession frequently. With God all things are possible including being pure enough to go from the very sin.filled earth to the purity of heaven. I recently started a devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows and I feel like I have become stronger in my faith. You can do it!
@@Jcr2446 Go to confession frequently? For what? Are you continually sinning? Are we ever pure enough? Where is that in scripture? Your answer is to divide your worship time, taking from God and giving to "Our Lady", whoever that is?
The devil wants Catholics to believe in a purgatory, so they will have a false sense of security and die in their sins. This false teaching is saying that the blood of Christ was not good enough.
I never thought of purgatory as punishment and still don't. Purification and painfull , yes, we must be purified snd perfect before entering heaven. Mary most merciful pray for us all.❤❤❤
Hebrews 9:27 tells us that we are to die once and then face our judgement. There is no special place for you to go until you are good enough. Is not the blood of Jesus on the cross sufficient enough to wash your sins away? Praying to Mary will not save you. There is one Mediator between us and God, that is Jesus Christ! When He says, "I never knew you", if you, if you shout out, "Mother Mary, save me", Jesus will hold out His hands and say, "Mary did not go to the cross for you, I did! You spent all of your time seeking Mary that you left Me behind"!
So sad to hear that so many people are deceived. The blessed mother does answer prayers as I have been so blessed by her presence in my life. It is truly heartbreaking how much Protestants lose out and how much suffering they endure without Mary. No we do not idolize Mary or consider her God and Catholics don't believe in Solo Scriptura because neither did Jesus.... scripture and tradition.
Many visions of the souls being wrapped in chains….Im reminded of the character Jacob Marley in The Christmas Carol mentioning it’s part of his penance.
Why would a 7 year old boy be sent to purgatory? What sin could a child possibly commit that would deserve such a harsh punishment? Doesn’t sound like something a loving God would do.
Because children have free will. Even in a home or school setting, they can do wrong, and in turn be punished. If they can do wrong, and get punished in this world, who is to say they can't be punished in the afterlife?
@@glennherron9499 funny you should ask. This morning I googled " Catholic 10 commandments, and ways we may have sinned". I was inspired by a fr mike shmidt video to document everything I can think of in a book before I go to my next confession ( I'm way overdue ). But also, much that I learned came from my mother, Sunday school, and listening to church sermons. Lately I have found some great TH-cam videos from fr Matt Goering as well.
Yes, I believe that a Soul that goes to Purgatory is there due to punishment for sins, however, I believe the punishment is having to endure being separated from the Lord.
The Bible says that Christ paid the penalty for sin on the cross. If you are being punished in purgatory for your sins then you are “paying for your own sins.” Except the Bible says you cannot pay for your sins.
THE TRUTH IS: if you die, and find yourself in a place of torment that you've been taught is Purgatory, THEY LIED TO YOU - you're in HELL and you're never getting out. Be Born Again by FAITH in Jesus' sacrifice, and you're good to go - Heaven awaits.
A story with I was told as a young boy: Man was suffering from a painful and wasting disease. His guardian Angel appeared to him and gave him the choice of continuing in the great pain which would last and increase for months or pay for his sins with one second in Purgatory. The man chose Purgatory and his angel led him there and left him. The man suffered and suffered terrible flames of Purgatory for years. When his angel returned he complained about the time he spent there saying that he was only supposed to be there for one second. His anger replied that one second is all that he endured.
Technically, there are no punishments in Purgatory. The conditions may be painful if not horrible, but they are called the "Holy Souls of Purgatory" for a reason. Souls in purgatory are saved. Their sins are forgiven. The problem is, their characters are not perfect, and the need to be "purged" of defect.
Thank you. I love your True Catholic Stories. I know they are true because of what has happened with my family and friends. We need to pray much. We need to pray for our Protestant friends also. Who think that purgatory is a child’s nonsense. They will be very frightened when the Mercy of Christ puts them in Purgatory. Which is a Great Mercy compared to the sufferings in hell -- without any end -- for Time with No End (Eternity).
A day in purgorty can mean at least yrs in purgorty let us all pray for the souls in purgorty & for those who have no one to pray for them Amen 🙏🌹💔☘️🇮🇪
i do not believe that the majority of people have committed sins that justify such horrific punishments. we are all sinners its in our nature as humans. it would seem that almost everyone is destined to end up there as none of us are perfect. but a seven year old child that is not justice that is blatant cruelty
There are some bad kids out there. I was one of them. I knew what I was doing. And choose to continue. 60 later I still battle with this behavior. Hugh Hefner really messed a lot of us little guys up. Larry Flint took it to a whole new level. And we did it freely. So yah I think a child can wind up in that place. Fortunately for me. I've had a lifetime to repent and ask for Jesus mercy. Some of us don t get that chance.
Notice that chains feature prominently. I believe they represent the shackles of our sins. We refused to throw them off completely, and so in purgatory we are stuck in a state where we cannot throw them off, but need grace and time. Too many Catholics are content with getting to purgatory, but we should always be aiming to avoid to - to aim strictly for heaven. I noticed Catholics of the past seem to have had a greater fear of purgatory than most Catholics do today. Hopefully all start to see purgatory for what it is - not a waiting room, but a grim prison to be avoided. Purgatory is indeed a massive and incredible blessing from a God who does not will that any should be lost, and infinitely better than hell. But He gives us the chance to go straight to heaven and avoid that sad place of extreme regret.
A scary remark by St Leonard of Port Maurice ::: Every day 33,000 souls goto Hell....approx 30,000 to 40,000 souls on a given day... Only less than 10 souls goto Purgatory or Heaven on a given day !!! Are you scared already ??
How bac=dly could a 7 year old possibly sin to face such a horrible punishment? I fullu believe in Purgatory, pray for the souls there daily, but this is a bit hard to believe.
The earliest depictions of Purgatory and Hell is in The Vision of Drythelm, included in The History of the English Church amd People by the Venerable Bede,in the early 8th century.
I believe purgatory is a place of suffering to purify our souls but not as hellish as described here. Jesus is loving, merciful & kind though firm. Not terrifying! Keep praying the rosary 🙏 In purgatory we are all prodigals. How kind his Father was!
2 questions. Don't we see the face of God the second we die at our judgement? If we don't get our earthly bodies until the end of time, how can these souls in the first couple stories appear with their full bodies in garments?
I would suggest that “between Heaven and H€ll” is a mis-characterization of Purgatory. While souls in the deepest levels of that place of purification endure torments similar to those of the damned, they are assured of their salvation and eventual admission to Heaven.
Some crucial misinformation here - purgatory is not a place of punishment, its a place of purification Purgatory is not "in between heaven and hell" its a place of purification before entry into heaven
Some Catholics don't want to think about Hell or purgatory at all. Some Catholics only want to think about Heaven. And they know that God is good and loving. Now it's true that God is good and loving and we Catholics want to get to Heaven but we can't deny the existence of Hell.
Not crazy about the term "punishment" in purgatory when the Catholic Church is clear that it is not a punishment from God as a kind of vengeance inflicted from without. It's purifying pain specifically related to a person's sins. Coupled with the pain of being temporarily apart from God.
The souls in purgatory cannot pray for themselves, but they can pray for others. Pray for them. Offer penance and sacrifice for them. Have Holy Masses said for them. We must not forget them. If we pretend like every person who dies is “in a better place”, we have no reason to pray or do any of these things for them. It’s important that we understand that truth, so that we can be prayed for when we die.
There is always hope. Pray and fast and do charity. With God all things are possible. We need to be purified to get to heaven so there is enormous suffering but joy as you will go to heaven. Unlike the damned who are many and they go straight to hell.
@@kathanson584 I do believe you are right that there are different levels of purgatory. Trust in God because He loves us so much and wants us all to be united with Him in heaven some day.
St. Catherine of Genoa (1551): “I believe no happiness can be found worthy to be compared with that of a soul in Purgatory except that of the saints in Paradise: and day by day this happiness grows as God flows into these souls.” In some popular prayers and devotions, and in some spiritual writings, purgatory is described as sort of a temporary hell, and differing from hell only in that those in purgatory know they will eventually go to heaven. However, the Catechism of the Catholic Church rejects that view of purgatory. The Catholic Church does not teach that purgatory is a place or that those in purgatory experience the pain of fire: purgatory is not a “mini-hell,” and is entirely different from the punishment of the damned. CCC1031

Than why isn't the USA RCC HIERARCHY teaching this from the Sunday pulpit? The Eastern Rite Catholic Churches haven't taught about the "sufferings of Purgatory"?
These imagery of purgatory were abundant in a time (12th, 13th century) when most catholic citizens were illiterate and were preached through dark imagery. no one really knows about purgatory, but the subject is used to create sensational stories, like this one here.
If Purgatory is such a horrible place. Why did Jesus not teach us about it? He made it crystal clear about Heaven and Hell! What the Catholic Church is saying is that the blood of Christ on the cross was not good enough, Jesus paid the price for all of our sins!
"Perfect love casts out fear" i do not want to view god as some kind of punishing tyrant terrorizing us. If one commits objective mortal sin like murder, adultry etc i can see being terrified and one shld be. But not for superficial faults and we dont intend any harm. This stuff on purgatory n level of punishments for non mortal sins is not healthy

Why Do We Pray for the Dead?
St Paul 1 Corinthians 3:11~15
2 Maccabees 12:46
Thus he made atonement for the dead that they might be absolved from their sin.
Protestants: the word purgatory is not in the bible
Catholic answer:
the word holy trinity is not in the bible, neither is the phrase make jesus your personal lord and savior, personal relationship with jesus, the sinners prayer,
Matthew 5:48 you therefore must be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect
Revelation 21:27 but nothing unclean shall enter it nor anyone who practices abomination or falsehood
Hebrews 12:23
Historically the Jews believed in this purification process and to this day pray for the dead as well as do Orthodox Christians.
EVERY major Christian denomination has major doctrines that are based on implicit evidence in the bible.
Similarly there are many passages that describe purgatory.
And Protestants should NOT hold Catholics to a standard they are not willing to hold themselves to.
Purgatory is for the saved only.

The Bible is clear not to pray for the dead. The Bible says the dead lie in rest and know nothing until the second coming of Jesus Christ. Please read and study the Bible!

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states: “All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to ‘unveil’ the future”
In necromancy, people attempt to contact the dead to obtain information from them-either about the future or about other matters that are hidden from the inquirer.

Lk 12:42-48
The Lord answered, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time?

He was 9 years old
No child will go to purgatory. That is not true. I'm sorry to say.
No one knows what purgatory is like, and this here
is quite misleading. Remain at peace and pray.
This isn’t forgiveness.
This is punishment.

I never thought purgatory was so SERIOUS.
❤✝️🙏☺️👍
You are a “Child of Mary?” So, not a Child of God? It’s so weird to hear a believer say such blasphemous things.
@@bobizzle1605 That’s unbiblical, but so much of Catholicism is.
Even Martin Luther, who started Protestantism, adored Mary and in his own words, said “she is second only to her son in deserving our veneration and adoration.”
So again: tell me how it’s unbiblical.
I DO NOT WANT TO SUFFER IN PURGATORY BUT WANT TO SUFFER NOW!

The devil wants Catholics to believe in a purgatory, so they will have a false sense of security and die in their sins. This false teaching is saying that the blood of Christ was not good enough.
I never thought of purgatory as punishment and still don't. Purification and painfull , yes, we must be purified snd perfect before entering heaven. Mary most merciful pray for us all.❤❤❤
Christ is the only one deserving of the title “most merciful.” What blasphemy it is to attribute His mercy to another.
Mama Mary please pray for us ✝️🇻🇦❤️🔥

@@rogergeilow4982yes she can
Hebrews 9:27 tells us that we are to die once and then face our judgement.

A loving but just God.
@@VitoVeccia Where do you find out what actions are considered sin?
@@glennherron9499 funny you should ask. This morning I googled " Catholic 10 commandments, and ways we may have sinned". I was inspired by a fr mike shmidt video to document everything I can think of in a book before I go to my next confession ( I'm way overdue ). NOOOOOOOOOOOO they ...we...... NEED JESUS CHRIST THE ONLY WAY!! GLORY TO GOD HALLELUJAH!!
Yes, I believe that a Soul that goes to Purgatory is there due to punishment for sins, however, I believe the punishment is having to endure being separated from the Lord.
Agree
Amen to that!
A day in purgorty can mean at least yrs in purgorty let us all pray for the souls in purgorty & for those who have no one to pray for them Amen 🙏🌹💔☘️🇮🇪
God gave us choice= free will with which we can choose, either to his will as our creator, or deny him and choose to go on our way to hell.
Seek God's mercy and not his justice. As for me I would hope that one thing no one in Purgatory suffers is fear.
A 7 yr old wouldn't be at the age of accountability or even to receive Holy communion
Amen.
i do not believe that the majority of people have committed sins that justify such horrific punishments. we are all sinners its in our nature as humans. it would seem that almost everyone is destined to end up there as none of us are perfect. but a seven year old child that is not justice that is blatant cruelty
I can’t imagine a seven year old child committing sins bad enough to suffer so miserably in purgatory. Imagine what awaits adults.😳
If you died and experienced things like this then how would you know if you were in purgatory or in hell?
Each individual is judged. God would tell you.
People get out of Purgatory.
If you can still hope for prayers for yourself, you are in Purgatory, i would think.
The way you died.
Whether the soul goes to heaven, hell, or purgatory means judgment has already taken place, and the soul knows full well where they are.
Great video thank you!
A scary remark by St Leonard of Port Maurice ::: Every day 33,000 souls goto Hell....approx 30,000 to 40,000 souls on a given day...
Only less than 10 souls goto Purgatory or Heaven on a given day !!! Are you scared already ??
Why would a God who loves us unconditionally do these things to us?
How bac=dly could a 7 year old possibly sin to face such a horrible punishment? I fullu believe in Purgatory, pray for the souls there daily, but this is a bit hard to believe.
Have Masses said for loved ones, but also yourself you never know if your family will keep the Faith might just be the best offering and money spent
The earliest depictions of Purgatory and Hell is in The Vision of Drythelm, included in The History of the English Church amd People by the Venerable Bede,in the early 8th century.
We all need to pray for the souls and purgatory do it every day
I believe purgatory is a place of suffering to purify our souls but not as hellish as described here. Jesus is loving, merciful & kind though firm. Not terrifying! Keep praying the rosary 🙏 In purgatory we are all prodigals. How kind his Father was!

It reminds me of what our Blessed Mother told us to do at Fatima.
Wow! You just can't win can ya? I wouldn't think Purgatory would be this harsh, it is just like the description of Hell

How in the thunder does a seven year old boy get sent to afterlife punishment ? And Where is this so-called "age of reason" even documented ?

Anyone in purgatory eventually goes to heaven purgatory is to purge ourselves. We need to purify Holy. God doesn’t want us unholiness in.
Like wow that's crazy
Some Catholics don't want to think about Hell or purgatory at all. Some Catholics only want to think about Heaven. And they know that God is good and loving. Now it's true that God is good and loving and we Catholics want to get to Heaven but we can't deny the existence of Hell.
Not crazy about the term "punishment" in purgatory when the Catholic Church is clear that it is not a punishment from God as a kind of vengeance inflicted from without. It's purifying pain specifically related to a person's sins. Coupled with the pain of being temporarily apart from God.
This video leaves me feeling hopeless - if that was the intent, good job. What is the point of going on if this is what is coming?
Because you still go to Heaven
@@Jcr2446 Thank you for your kind reply. I believe there may be different levels of purgatory, some less intense than others. Be well. Regards

St. Catherine of Genoa (1551):
“I believe no happiness can be found worthy to be compared with that of a soul in Purgatory except that of the saints in Paradise: and day by day this happiness grows as God flows into these souls.”
In some popular prayers and devotions, and in some spiritual writings, purgatory is described as sort of a temporary hell, and differing from hell only in that those in purgatory know they will eventually go to heaven. However, the Catechism of the Catholic Church rejects that view of purgatory. The Catholic Church does not teach that purgatory is a place or that those in purgatory experience the pain of fire: purgatory is not a “mini-hell,” and is entirely different from the punishment of the damned.
