Plant's best band ever, and best solo album - Fate of Nations. I just realised that three of the guys in the band are dead and gone . . . sad but at least they got to play great music and be in the company of Plantey. RIP Kevin MacMichael, Michael Lee and Phil Johnstone!

It was HD and BluRay quality before those terms came to be known. I still have it and it still is better quality than anything on TH-cam. I should upload it one of these days, or lend it to someone who can totally remaster it. It's the most perfect candidate for a complete remaster. Such an awesome show, too! The best version of Promised Land, well, this and the Glastonbury '93 version.

It’s evident (to my ears and knowledge of his body of live work) that for whatever reasons, Plant was having a VERY challenging night vocally and really had to ease cautiously into the Zep pieces especially... yet he plays to his strengths on this night and really shows how far he’d come in finally learning how to sing these songs AND not wreck his voice in the process. Bravo
He did have major vocal cord surgery in 1973 & never had quite the same power after that. He was always inconsistent live while with Zep, both before & after the surgery. Some of the high notes you hear at this show & others may be artificially made with pitch technology.
@@KingOFuh Possible. His Immigrant Song wails during the 1988 and 1990 shows I suspect were likely pre-recorded by him and synched in. That said, I've always been skeptical of the reported vocal cord surgery circa 1973... possible, and if it did occur, I would estimate more around 1974. That said, I remember hearing an interview around 1990 (can't find it now, sorry), where Plant said he had talked to a doctor who said he would likely never sing again, or something like that. Wouldn't surprise me then either. As far as the pitch tech... I kind of suspect a good amount of that for the 2007 reunion show.

After 30 years, Plant can still hit the lead singer's note fairly comfortably, A above middle C, the main note on the chorus of What Is & Should Never Be. If male can usually hit that note, he can sing tons of songs w/o lowering key. Plant had vocord surgery 1973, lost some power but still had his upper range. Not sure Y he never sang Stairway coda hi notes live. Makes no sense.
