Believe or not I am in the same situation.... it's just disappointing that nobody really teaches you this stuff even you're paying and supposed to get a good training....

Started watching this video for help with the 430 in 123PF and I saw KTCL on the maps page. I stopped the video and was like, "Wait a minute, I know this voice". Great video and thanks for the brief instructions.
I just got back into flying again and our club plane has this identical NAV/radio setup. Great simple refresher! You hit every topic that really matters!
Informative video and done quickly, thank you. The only memory aid I liked better elsewhere was the garmin 430 video stating "big knob changes the big numbers the little knob changes the little numbers." Nevertheless, awesome quick and to the point, thank you again for making the video.
The G430 is a very useful avionics device. You provided a lot of good information. I will suggest you slow down with describing its functions. A few times you said “that’s not all that important.” As a CFI, I teach that “everything” in that airplane is important. Also, your video was compromised by not acquiring the GPS signals so that the information it displays when GPS is acquired is real and not imagined.
I enjoyed your video .. to the point.!! I am looking for a current simulator for my PC... However, the only download I find on Garmin says it is not compatible with the newest Windows OS.... Any advice? Thank you in advance
I've been out of GA for 2+ years so haven't used this GPS in a while but from what I remember you hit "Menu" while on the Nav page then there is an option to "Change Field". Groundspeed should be one of the choices

absolutely correct - instructors cannot reach the gps usage at all -

Great tutorial. Having to do CFII with the 430 after using the G1000 for a lot of my instrument training. The 430 simulator definitely helps.
A good trick is if you press and hold, for about four seconds, the Com switch button, it will change to 121.5 automatically.
