If you look at the credits in the beginning you'll see that all of the models were made by a bunch of different people, which explains why they look so different and inaccurate. I only know of 3 people (HanniaNandz, Animate_A_Thing, and Ghalux) who have made relatively accurate/good models, good being "I can't immediately tell an obvious drastic difference between it and the original". The issue is that either Coda didn't know about them or was unable to get permission to use them. Animate_A_Thing's models are private, HanniaNandz made their own animation of this song already, and while Ghalux's CYN model is public and looks pretty good (specifically the published final version), it was finished more recently and would have most likely flown under the radar.
I agree! Even if they aren't well experienced in model's, it couldn't have hurt to actually reach out to the community. There's ton's of super good model's that try to be show accurate.
