His works are amazing but I have to disagree with you concerning the "practical" part. Art is not meant to be practical. Haute couture is not casual wear, it's meant to deliver a message or make you think even if it is impractical.

It's fine to be art but people (the models) still have to wear said art for hours on end and a lot have said that it's usually extremely uncomfortable and sometimes just dangerous wearing or performing in some pieces.

Umm, I wouldn’t call it practical, but it is fashion forward. Also, there are other designers on this level. Iris Van Herpen and Robert Wun are my favorites atm.

I understand what you’re trying to say with the “practical” bit, but that’s not the best way to say it, since high fashion is never about the practicality, just the artistry, the concept. What you’re referring to is more about how wearable it is compared to other avant garde offerings. So you see that there are more "practical applications” for this particular designer’s pieces in award shows, galas and other formal events that merit a high fashion statement while being able to move around and look amazing in them.
