    Wow! Best instructional on the Clean I've been able to find. Trying to learn this lift and this video has been hands down the most clear and complete. Great job.

    Thank you so much for the video!! I'm sure Wes was beaten down from training and did not feel like doing this but us beginners really do appreciate it!! In anticipation of Wes crushing it at the olympics and getting on the podium, I really wanted to get technically decent for my own pleasure. But my 6'9" lanky person ain't making it easy!! haha.

    I am following the liftright program and seeing amazing improvements. I wasn't totally sure of what was the non-ballistic variation though. It is clarified now!

    the thing that stood out to me is having the shoulders over the bar in the power position. i was taught to keep your shoulders above your hips until you go down to a hang just above the knee which is when my shoulders are over the barbell. is there a reason for having the shoulders over the barbell in the power position?

    • @yujiweightlifting
      @yujiweightlifting 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you’re shoulders are behind the bar in the power position then you’ll most likely either extend too far back and jump back or the bar will create a looping effect which you don’t want to have when performing any Olympic lifts.
      Hope that wasn’t too wordy lol

    • @CaliforniaStrength
      @CaliforniaStrength  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@yujiweightlifting Great response. To clarify, your shoulders should be on top of the barbell. Not as far over as we would see in the Snatch for example.

    Still seems too complex for an absolute beginner🤔...the pendlay version from years ago was much simpler explanation and breakdown...of course beginners should seek out a coach regardless

    I wish you guys would use models with more muscle so people believe that cleans work. (Totally kidding) It looks like he ate babies this morning
