@@ethan-zi8hd not necessarily, people have different body types and metabolism speeds so for some it is very easy to stay lean yet general fitness does require exercises in one form or another
@@ethan-zi8hd I don't see it the same still. I'm at Kevin's starting point, around 220. Watching someone jacked flawlessly do any exercise doesn't motivate me. I'm 42 and have been overweight since I was a teen. My only loss has come from giving up soda, which wasn't hard when it's $10 for a 12pk. I need to find my motivation or I'll never change.

For decades, fitness quacks have been selling workout routines & diets claiming to transform people in 30-90 days etc. & the people that follow them give up on being healthy after not getting results, thinking something is wrong with them. These videos & side-by-sides help set a realistic standard for what is achievable.
Kevin, your effort will inspire more people than you will ever know. Keep going Kevin. Thank you. I'm a personal trainer and studied nutrition yet I recently purchased a BWS program and the app and I can attest to its awesomeness. While I haven't quite yet nailed my daily protein intake, I'm determined. This program would have to be the most doable and long lasting results program I've ever come across. I can highly recommend it if you're truly ready to make changes. Thank you Jeremy and all others involved in making this available.
This is the beginning of an amazing transformation, I am sure :) I remember starting my transformation like a year ago. I got myself a diet plan from OnlyMeal and I started doing some exercises at home. My brother was making huge fun of me, thinking I will give up. But day after day, meal after meal, I managed to do it. I lost 67lbs in six months, and I am feeling a lot happier now (couldn't do it without my amazing diet plan). I can finally tie my shoelaces without holding my breath 😀
I feel identified with Kevin. I'm a software engineer, and I weighed 102 kg just 15 months ago, with around 45% body fat. I'm now at 18%, with a lot more muscle, weighing 76 kg, and a lot of that was also thanks to Jeremy! Trust the process, Kevin, you can do it!
Hi. So you decided to lose weight first then lift? I am currently skinny fat around 73kg. Should i reduce my weight more? PS: Had 2 slipped discs this year, so doc told me not go to gym this year and 8 months more for next year. So i lost most of my muscles.
@@jasonh5106 check your BMI; If it says normal, take it into an account that you are indeed at a normal weight for your height and age. Don't compare yourself to enhanced folks; the BMI is for naturals to consider. At that point when you're at a normal weight as a natural, try to maingain. If not at a normal weight, do anything appropriately from a lean bulk to a small cut. Baby steps can get you far in time. Also, I sympathize with your story. Considering you have slipped discs, do note that you have other muscles that do not need your back. Do exercises that don't need you to stand up and activate your back; be like the Popeye your friends never thought they needed. When I got into an accident, I couldn't bend my right leg by the hip. So what I did? Trained my arms and chest. Did some corrective exercises too for my leg, and I'm glad to say I can now bend my right leg just a little bit. Yours however will be your own journey and I'm just mumbling with my own personal journey. Keep at it man.
@jasonh5106 He was in a different position than you, he had 45% body fat. If you are skinny-fat then you are probably below the 20% mark. In your case you'd need to gain weight WHILE training. But not just gain random weight because that isn't efficient, you have to gain weight while consuming the appropriate amount of protein, carbs, and fat. Your case seems more similar to mine (I'm going through the beginner program) and I have to consume 2200 kcal per day, of which at least 115g is protein, 275-358g is carbs, and 37-74g is fat. This is so I can put on weight in the first 6 months, while also doing the training to build muscle. The trainings seem to be divided into 4-6 month periods (depending on how fast your body develops, with strength tests to see if you are ready to move to the next stage). The first period of 6 months you are training and bulking up (gaining weight) and then the next 6 months you are training and cutting (losing weight). And then the process will (probably) repeat itself (but I obviously haven't gotten that far yet lol) If your doctor told you to not do any exercise, then don't do it. Just try to start the nutrition, get used to checking your food for kcal/protein/carb/fat contents, making meal plans, etc, and just maintain your weight. Then when your doctor says you are well enough to go back to training, you can increase the amount of protein/carb/fat/kcal you ingest and start working out at the same time. Your muscles might have decreased in size but you can get those back anytime, it is more important to make sure you are completely healed before restarting your training, because if you restart it too soon you might injure yourself, make your back problem worse, or even be unable to ever return to training.
Hell yeah! Keep at it! I'm IT and spend most of my days sitting. My daily workout is my only escape from the keyboard. Music on, disconnect for a bit, push yourself. I never focused on weight, for almost 8 months, just focused on the discipline of lifting and counting calories. Went from 265 to 195 in that time. That was 7 years ago... these days I'm just continuing to add muscle. YOU CAN DO IT!!
Keep it up Kevin! Your fitness transformation is great inspiration for us regular people with full time jobs not in the fitness industry. What we eat and how we exercise really does change our bodies. I can't wait to see the next 30, 60, 90 day transformation photos.

I had a similar body type as Kevin's. I could do a few chin-ups at first, but kept at it to improve strength. But I found nutrition/diet made the biggest difference on improving my chin-ups. Nutrition/diet -> Lose weight/lighter on your feet -> Much easier to do chin ups, push ups, jump squats, jump rope, etc! That being said: Maintaining good nutrition/diet is WAY harder than exercise!
