- So, today we are out and about walking once again in the pretty Cotswold village of Lower Slaughter, which is located in Gloucestershire, England. It is located 4 miles South West of Stow-on-the-Wold and has a population of just under 200. The River Eye runs through the centre of the village. The village is home to the Lords of the Manor Hotel which dates back to 1649. Lower Slaughter has its own parish church which is the Church of St Peter.
There is just one hidden logo within this video. If you spot it, let us know that you have seen it but please don't give away it's location.

Thanks for walking with me.

Thank you for taking the time to stop and photograph all the beautiful flowers, shrubs and trees and not rushing through the walk. Perfect walk!

I love these walks. Thank you. I would love to live in such a peaceful beautiful place. ❤
How Beautiful place!!!
Beautiful. ❤❤❤❤👌👌👌👌
Thanks Anne :)
Hello my friend, what a picture perfect walk!! It's a horrible 90° here & going higher by Friday, I don't like the heat at all. This walk was refreshing & nourishing to my soul. The buildings always catch my eye with their gorgeous buttery wheat colors, so soothing, and of course all the scenery & sounds that awaken my urge to be there. It's lush, green and perfect. This walk made my hot day feel so much more tolerable & just what I needed, then again, these precious walks always do!! Thank you so much for your time doing these walks, it's my favorite & really only thing on social media I love. ❤ This village is a must see for me when I get over there!! ❤
Hello Michele my friend. It is very nice to hear from you. That is so hot 🔥🥵, occasionally it might hit the 90's here. It does not bother me so much during the daytime but not keen on it when trying to sleep at night. I guess a lot of houses in the U S ave air con.
Glad to hear that this walk is helping to keep you cool during those soaring temperatures. This definitely needs to be added to your list. As ever I am really grateful for your continued support and friendship.
All the best to you.

Gracias amigo, no pude comentar antes. Feliz día para usted.
Hello Ana. Thank you for your lovely comment. I hope you are well and also you are having a nice weekend.

It looked cool there, too- something that was nice to see! It’s very hot over here now in the US….and no air conditioning in our home. Does it ever get into the 90s there? Just wondered, as you are farther north than we are, and probably have your climate moderated by the ocean.
@janetryan9779 it does not seem so long ago that your area had large amounts of snow - what a stark contrast in what feels like almost no time at all (Time goes so fast tho!). Occasionally it does reach the high 90's. Don't mind it that hot during the daytime but not so keen on it at night tho! Same here...no air con. If we drew a straight line across the globe from my location to yours it would resemble a ski slope, so it's fair to say that I am much further north.
Stay cool if you can.
@@OutandaboutWalking
Yes, just a few short months ago we had snow! I wish I could have banked some of it in a freezer, as I would have brought it out now and sat in it. I agree with you about heat at night being the hardest to take; it makes sleeping tough. Friends who farm have told me that heat and humidity are the very best conditions for the growth of corn, so I try to think of this when it’s hot, and reassure myself that the heat does go to some good purpose. However, when I am having a restless night from the heat, I confess that I am not happily thinking about vegetables. Corn doesn’t have to get up in the morning and go to work- or at least I have never seen any doing so. (If you happen to see a stalk walk past your house with a briefcase and get on a bus to go to the office, be sure to let me know!😁).
Enough silliness; have a great rest of your week. 🙂
@@janetryan9779 the temperatures can change quite dramatically here in the UK due the position of the jet stream. Perhaps you are far enough south for your weather to be influenced by the subtropical jet stream (just a guess tho!). The past couple of days it has started to warm up again quite nicely :).
If I ever see a stalk walk past my house with a briefcase, you will be the first to be informed :D
Have a good rest of the week too.

I’ve been following your walks for quite a while now and this time we were actually there at Lower Slaughter on holiday. Our car was outside one of the cottages. We were probably fast asleep at the time. It’s lovely to see the place again. Beautiful village. Thank you for your walks. I do look forward to them.
Hi Julia. Wow, what were the chances of that! It's a small world sometimes. Hope you had a very nice holiday in the Cotswolds.

So excited to see this beautiful visit to Lower Slaughter! My family (3 generations of us) spent Christmas week here last December in Mill Stream Cottage. Had tears in my eyes watching this one as it brought back such wonderful memories. So glad to see that the mill will be refurbished and open again in the future. We'll always remember the magical Christmas Eve service in the candle lit church.
Thank you for taking us back to this exquisite village.🥰
Hello. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely memories of Lower Slaughter. I can imagine just how much that would of made Christmas even more special.

Another Top 5 Cotswolds village! ( in my opinion anyway) How wonderful to see it without the many tourists that visit throughout the summer months. It`s so so pretty! 🙂
Hi Eva. Good to hear from you, hope you are doing OK.
Yes, most definitely! Which is your number one? Got to be Stanton - am I right?
Thanks for your time on this walk.
All the best to you.
OAAW
@@OutandaboutWalking Yes you are right, Stanton is my absolute number 1 favorite Cotswolds village, followed by... Snowshill. After that it becomes too difficult to chose and my Top 5 could easily become a Top 10 or even 20. There is Taynton, both the Slaughters, Ebrington, Sandy Lane, Castle Combe and so on..... The list is endless really. And all of them have such beautiful surrounding countryside as well. Just an overall stunning part of the world.
@Eva.Karinae coincidentally I bagged Ebrington not too long ago, which I will be uploading in the next couple of weeks :)
Thanks for your reply.

Stupid question but do people live there? I never see people walking or lights on in the windows. Love to videos peaceful is the best word to describe them.
♥Dear One...Every question is important and intelligent. Blessed be, dear one, blessed be...
No question is ever stupid! Seems a perfectly reasonable question to me, even when I know the answer.
Seems like a perfectly reasonable question to me. People definitely live here but as this was filmed very early in the morning nobody seemed to be up & about hence why it seems so quiet, which is incredibly rare to see the village like this as it is well visited every day of the week by tourists.
Glad you enjoyed the walk.
Thanks for your support.
All the best to you.

It’s first thing in the morning my love, it’s very much lived in. It’s so pretty, it almost looks like a model village. Blessings to you ❤

This was VERY delightful! You really allowed time to savor each and every morsel! I noticed the log privacy screen for front door; the waterwheel seemingly rolling against the current; the fresh forest green museum paint; a Profile (do I detect light colored eyes?); the pink-n-whites by door with pet bowl had a wee spider; but doggone ifn 🚶escaped me vision....twice around (I really expected his sneaky self to be a'lying on Eye's rock bottom, nope; I bet he's inside where l wanna be, smacking on some FISH dinner). So! ⚽final score: Lower slaughtered Upper 3 to 1. And here's to Cotswold 0:05 & 11:38. 😘
Good day, L.J. How are you today. You are right - third time I believe in this lovely village (I see what you did there, very good!:) This time around I really wanted to savour it hence why we sometimes see the same scenery twice but from different perspectives. Can’t believe the whole time we were out we only saw one little van, lovely and peaceful! I am shocked you did not spot our dear friend…must be a sign of the times or something…have another go sometime ;
Yep, you are right on that one too but where did you catch my reflection, I thought I had blurred it out 🙃
Many thanks for your time on this walk.
Your old pal S.R :)
@@OutandaboutWalking
Okay, third walk might be the charm, booger 🚶. Aye! It 🗣️was at the museum after you zoomed in on their "Fixin' up the place" poster. Too late to fuzz it, more of a shnazoola portrait, you know, the old portaiture style of cutting someone's side-head-view (shadow) from black paper & pasting it upon white background then framing, nothing to worry about really being the glass imperfections & hoodie did their jobs marvelously (nuts, much to me dismay). 😢 As for how me be? Nail biting, there's a nasty 🌪️brewing south of us, prevailing winds, uh, well, we could be the target or worse, be on right side of it which is where 90% of rain/tornadoes live. I thought you had 🛰️👀s.
@@OutandaboutWalking
Oo Oo! Can't resist...🎼"Blue eyes 🎶 My baby's got blue eyes"🎵.
After I posted the comment, I then remembered the museum window, will have a look later when I’m back in the Lab. I don’t think I am familiar with that style of portraiture, although may well recognise it if I saw it.
I might post a poll tomorrow, would definitely appreciate your input into it, so keep an 👁️ out for it :)
In the meantime…stay safe & well over there!
