Detroit Lions NFL - บันเทิง
Joe Schmidt. Defined the middle linebacker position. Owned the pro bowl and all pro honors at position for a decade over big names like Sam Huff and Ray Neitske. Greatest Lion pre 2000s. And was a head coach with a winning record in Detroit. Hall of Fame, all time NFL honors, etc. Alex Karras was Aaron Donald of his time. 100 unofficial sacks in 9 seasons from 1960 to 1970. 1958 and 59 not included, but you could add 12 to 15 more. Bubba Baker had 65.5 sacks unofficially with the Lions including 25 in one season. Karras played a lot of seasons in 12 game years, and faced the great 1960s Packers twice a year, as well as the Jim Brown Cleveland teams
Those were the years I bought my first season tickets!!! 1962 - 1989 . Lions fan for life !!!
We forget, before there was Jason Hanson there was Eddie Murray. He was great a kicker too.
I’ve never forgotten. We’ve been spoiled for decades (not including that very short gap between Hanson and Prater).
I said this all along, I love Kirby but Iffy showed how good he can be…what a great situation to be in
It doesn't have to be one or the other. Iffy's on the last year of his rookie contract. Kirby still has 2 more years.
I like our guys who don't get talked about as much! People like Barnes, Kirby, Iffy, and Mack are great.
“Fast & long”😂
Yes, Pause 😅
I think the question is fair. They drafted him and it took a while to adjust and find his way. The scheme change last year and injuries thrust him in and he did well for the second half of the season. Can he continue that play? I hope so. I think he will!
Agree 100% on Iffy. The only thing that can stop him is injuries. He's definitely above Joseph. Lots of people sleeping on him.
Barry, CJ, Night Train Lane and Chris Spielman (because of on and off field contributions).
I’ve been telling people Iffy is the breakout star candidate for Detroit this year. I fully expect him to be the full-time starter and Joseph will be rotational. Branch and Iffy should be the starting safeties in base defense, then in nickel packages sometimes Branch will move up to nickel CB, and sometimes it will be Robertson at nickel CB.
Iffy is also great at blitzing from the safety position and getting home.
It's not one or the other. I think it's a fact that Iffy is on the last year of his rookie contract and Kirby Joseph will be on his last year after this season.
I noticed when you said he was better then CJ, Kerby, but you forgot to mention Branch. Do you think Branch is better at Safety than Iffy?
Don't forget the first 2 years Iffy played outside corner and that's what he was drafted as when we got him.
I would keep Branch at nickel/slot because I think he's the best at that position than any player we have. Keep Kerby and Iffy together at Safety.
If Iffy plays good this season, I'd be open to re-signing him. I don't like comparing Iffy verse Kerby, keep them together.
Kirby had a few picks and melefameu had a few as well now that we added Davis and Robertson and stole a pick from garbage bay with Arnold 🤣🤣 that was awesome 👍👍WE ARE DEFINITELY ALOT STRONGER THEN LAST SEASON 👏👏💪💪 THE NORTH DONT HAVE TO WORRY THE WHOLE NFL HAS TO WORRY CAUSE WE JUST PUT EVERYONE ON NOTICE #ONEPRIDE

LETS GO LIONS 💯
That dudes a stud. Fyi i seen u at a Mexican restaurant in spring lake on sunday. Lol i would have said hi but didnt want to interrupt ur lunch. Fyi i enjoy ur show😊
Iffy was one of my favorite picks from the Lions. It seems like when A/G turned him loose Iffy killed it. We are blessed to have all 3 of those guys.
Iffy was our best defensive player on the team the last part of the season. He was everywhere making plays.
Facts 💯He’s a beast, if he can stay healthy he’ll make the pro bowl
Iffy is a potential pro bowler. He’s a big part of reason we got to where we did. Apparently people weren’t watching the games like we did
"I would hitch my wagon to Iffy, if he..." Not sure if it was on purpose, but I like the homophone usage.
Joseph and Branch will be the safeties on the 4 3 defense Go Lions 💪😎
1000% co-sign hes a superstar
I absolutely love Kirby Joseph but Its nice finally seeing someone say the same thing I have said. I think he will be the odd man out
Lol you believe that ?
@foursup3139 yes unless they keep 3 safeties on the field and Branch floats like a linebacker
@@foursup3139 or Iffy could be the floater too
you have 2 of the very best kickers ever Eddy Murry & Jason Hanson... I think Ed is are all time scoring leader
Hanson is
@@joshlewis575 I guess that tells you how old I am , thank you
@@joshlewis575 almost by double
Great problem…so slide Branch to nickel/slot and backup safety, and be able to run a Tampa 2 defense as an option? This year seems stacked.
To run Tampa 2 you need very smart players at CB, S, and need an equally talented badass at MLB. I love Anzalone but he’s no Derrick Brooks. The Lions can run AG defense that he tried to play last year which pissed me off half the time because they didn’t have the Dline or the DB talent to play Man while blitzing. The Lions are young and are already on paper better on defense by a lot than last year! People on here thinking there is a problem of where to place who. It makes no sense to me because Branch will be at slot with Iffy and Kirby at S. This league now is all hybrid based defenses that use mainly a nickel scheme but with different personnel.
Agreed!
My other 2 are Al “Bubba” Baker and Chris Speilmen
Herman Moore
Bobby Layne was the best QB. Joe Schmidt was the best defensive player. Full stop. Both are in the HOF for good reason.
The game was alot different then. For their era, they were HoFer's. There's a night and day difference in the athletic ability those players and modern day players have/had. Personally, till this year Matthew Stafford was without doubt their best. After the last couple years Goff has made a case for himself.
Quarterback is the only position that a old generation wouldn't be equal to today's players.
That is my opinion. Not that my opinion matters much.
Agreed
I feel you're stuck on the "What have you done for me lately" feeling with Iffy. He had his best season as a pro last year. Joseph had his worst, more than likely that hip was hindering him. We all have the big plays from Iffy still in our minds since they all happened at the end of the season and playoffs. It's the complete opposite for Joseph. I feel Branch and Joseph would be the best fit at this time if he's fully healthy with his hip. His injury started all the talk about his play regressing. He was putting up historical numbers at one point. Don't get me wrong, I AM A HUGE FAN OF IFFY. I wouldn't be upset one bit if they went with him over Joseph. Campbell and the defensive staff will find a way for him to make an impact. The Lions will be a very deadly nickel defense this year. Even more deadly with six DBs. There's depth like never before. There will be a time when everyone will have their moment / moments to impact big games. No matter who ends up where, the Lions will be EXTREMELY dangerous in the secondary.....FINALLY!
#ONEPRIDE
I like Branch
I love Jerry Rice too. I grew up awe inspired by the guy, but I'd pick Calvin Johnson over him. Calvin Johnson was a freak of nature.
Barry (middle left) Calvin Johnson (far right) Jason Hanson (far left) Chris Spielman (middle right)
You gotta pause this caption 🤫
With so many draft picks coming out of the gate on fire for the lions, there's a skewed perception on how to gage Lions draft picks.
(Of course YOU are saying Iffy IS on fire already. ) There's still a some "let's see more" in the minds of folks.
The thinking is by blossoming later in the year, he was able to work under the radar when opponents planned their offenses.
A few more games of great play will bring Iffy more attention.
The only problem for Iffy is staying healthy. The guy can play as we saw last part of the season and I agree, we need to see more. If he is healthy he is too good to ignore especially getting to the QB and changing direction. He was a CB coming out of college so he also had to adjust to the S spot by learning a new position against pros. Plus being injured didn’t help him. As for playing under the radar it will probably benefit the team as himself if opposing OC are worried about him because the flaws are only him not staying on the field consistently. Hopefully that has now changed…
Iffy was great at zone but bad at man, and we have loaded up on great man def backs so I am not sold on Iffy being as good as we are probably going to be playing more man than zone. We'll see how he holds up.
Staying healthy is a big IF .
Billy Sims
Benny Blades
Branch and kerby needs to be saftey
What Goff has done with Detroit is way better than what Stafford did with Detroit! He actually won a playoff game and should’ve won the NFC championship game!
Goff had a better coaching staff, (Stanford had Patricia)and GM,Offensive line running game and defense…. One played with no running back to go over a 100 yrds in years, and Stafford still produced at the same level as Goff statistically… unfair to Stafford to compare them by Win loss record
@@thebluntreport8850 I guess lol I mean Stafford is a great qb for a gambler, and him leaving paved the way for this success AND I enjoyed watching him on weekends so I have love for him.
I’ll take Billy Sims over Stafford! Saw him play, he was electric and much like Barry, was, at times, the entire offense it seemed! Great great player
When are we gonna get over the Stafford thing? Look at the faces of any player in lions history when they loose, these players came from winning college and high school teams and most of the time money is not a substitute for self esteem and when you’re under contract with the worst team in the NFL it takes a toll on you can you imagine what Stafford, Johnson and sanders had to endure off the field or in their home town? They all wanted to leave town and prove to the world that I am not a loser!
You know it's Bobby Lane! And Night Train.
Night Train played most of his career with the Rams and those were his best years.
Not too late to change that thumbnail bro bro
For real
???
Iffy going to be better this year because of the upgrades on DL and corners added ...Lions top 5 defense this year write it down ...
brian branch at safety if you want him on the field every down imo, id say amik at nickel until enis takes over
I cannot Be Billy Sims or Matt Stafford! Billy didn't play long enough and Matt Stafford, Who I love at QB, Left! He made his big win elsewhere! It would Have to be Night Train Lane and Bobby Lane! The curse is there because he didn't want to leave and A QB needs to be up there!
Bubba Baker
When will this channel come up with original content instead of just regurgitating what I’ve already read on pride of Detroit earlier in the day¿
Thank GOD you’re the one in mind when they create a video.
He’s a good spin down/box safety but we’ll see how the down field plays out.
Bobby Layne > everybody.
Hanson over stafford
He's not better than Kerby. Kerby had to deal with covering blown assignments by subpar corners.
Joseph and Branch will be the safeties on the 4 3 defense Go Lions 💪😎
I hope not…. Iffey better than both of them
