  • Welcome to the world of dyeing your own yarn. Executed by an enthusiastic beginner. If I can do it, anyone can.
UPDATE: The yarn in the kit is sock yarn.
Once the dye has been mixed, the following storage applies:
    - if vinegar has been added, then the lifespan of the dye stock is one month.
    - if the dye stock has no vinegar added, the lifespan of the dye stock is one year.
    - it is ok to keep the dye stock in plastic bottle.

Hi Judith. Looks like you had fun - what amazing vibrant colours you produced. I’ve been watching Kay from The Bakery Bears dyeing her favourite colours and it seems quite different to the Ashford way. Can’t wait to see your socks 😘

The first yarn looks like a parrot! Beautiful dye
We call that spotted grey horse an Appaloosa.

Fascinated by all the experimental colours and farting. ;-) Very intriguing and flattering updo too. Looking good, girl!

Hi Judith. Did you find out life time dyeing concentrate?

I'm sorry about the seriously late reply to this. I'm exremely new to the TH-cam world and didn't realise there was this place where I could find all the comments. In answer to your question, I have no idea as I don't really know what I am doing. I have been wearing the socks I made out of the dyed yarn and the colour has not faded at all. I hope that helps on some level.

I found your video searching for info on the Ashford dyes. I JUST received my order for their 12 dyes but no Information like you show on those pages came with it. I have contacted Ashford directly on their FB page and get only a form response. Would you be willing to send me an email copy or post the pages showing the “recipes” and suggested dyes collections?
