thanks for the information, but while I am generating the s curve report (baseline cumulative work VS Cumulative actual work), I am getting values 0 in the pivot table. unable to generate the s curve. would you pls help me with that?
Hi, do you mean you want to show the chart as a bar/column chart instead of a line chart? Because if yes, then that is not an S-Curve anymore. Did I understand your question correctly?
@@ExcelInsights sorry..I was meaning the view in tracking Gantt with bar charts of planned Vs baseline..that is how normally tracking Gantt displays the Gantt chart! Solved!
Hi sir, from available fields from visual reports, i dont have baseline cumulative work and cumulative work to add to selected fields.. what to do sir..?

Thank you for shared the good thing!! But i have some issue, In visual report field picker, it doesn't show Baseline Cumulative Work and also no Cumulative Actual Work. Please feedback me how to make it appear. hope you can help __/\__ (I'm use MSP version 2010 )
This was a problem with Project 2010 (and actually other programs too had many problems during the launch of 2010 versions that Microsoft released what we call "Service Pack 1" that fixed many issues in the 2010 versions.) I cannot find the link to it anymore. Maybe you can be lucky and find the "Service Pack 1" update or get the more recent versions of MS Project.
very informative and helped in creating S curve. Thanks for in depth explanation!
Thanks sir, i managed to create the curve as instructed. I forgot to make the work baseline in the beginning. and the tick options..
Thank you!
Wow! So love this channel. Thank you very much for sharing this tutorial
Glad you liked it!
That's a great tutorial. Is possible to build the same chart but considering only Material Resource type?
Clear and straight to the point. Thank you. Liked and subbed
Sir, Thanks for guidance. please prepare one more video to guide us that how we can create "critical task report" in progress tab.
This is truly outstanding and precise explanation! . Is it possible to assess or forecast the future rate of work by S-curve?
Excel can do this by means of regression analysis. However, it requires that your dates are evenly separated.
This is perfect! Just what i was looking for! Great explanations!
Great!

You should do resource loading to your schedule to be able to generate values.
same problem i am facing and don’t know how to do resource loading in existing project file
Hi Excel Insights. Thank you for the awesome video. Can you kindly compile a video on EVM analysis. Computing EV, PV and AC. Thank you
Hi,
There is a templated report in MS Project that already does this.
Wonderful explanation
Thanks a lot. Could you please clarify how to show different bars for baseline and actual/planned?

Hi! Many thanks for the video. Is it posible to do this curve for a daily calendar?
Yes, you just need to continue collapsing the Excel data to daily. However, daily curves tend to be not as smooth looking as weekly curves.
Great Tutorial - Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!

What represent number for baseline and actual cumulative work? what does the work
number mean?
This is auto calculated based on the dates (both the initial and actual) you enter in the Gantt chart.
how to show weightage in MIP??
Sir, how can it change the value from work hours to percentage value based on % complete column in gantt chart ?
During the export part, look for the % column you are looking for
This can be done directly in Project using reports. But how can you show work completed as a percentage rather than hours?
You can do this using cumulative percentage complete
hi,urgent may i ask why my baseline cumulative is all 0 ? but mu actual cumulative has the value

why the value is zero for both baseline and actual? is it because I didn't enter the resources? please help
Try declaring as Baseline1. Then, use Baseline1 Cumulative in the report
Weekly calender is field
