Thats the biggest issue of the iOS - . Why would it use one kind of multiple images send method if you do it via whatsapp and a different method if you do it via the photos app? This is happening all over this OS, the GUI is inconsistent (for example, swipe to go back sometimes works and sometimes you have to press an arrow, why????) and it drives me crazy.

Fail. I want to know how to send photos SAVED on my Iphone, not just in my whatsapp photo library. They ARE different and I cannot do it.

When you click on add photos a message above will read ‘you’ve given access to only ….’ It’s not until you Click on that message a new option will appear to add new photos. Do that. Then you’ll have to select (a tick will appear in the selected ones) the selection specifically for message at that time. It’s a faff but doable once you know.
