Some parts of Tylers advice may have worked for him, but was lowkey trash: when he said don’t test out your music and try to be so different from everybody else. Artist-wise maybe that’s the move to progress faster, but success-wise idk man. There’s so much people out there making music for their own and nobody cares. I don’t want that
It depends on how you view art what I understand from what Tyler says is he want to make his best work sometimes things don’t blow up first time and your best works need a lot of editing to get to where u feel like you put your best in it ,he saying focus on what you like and add nuance to it , might take time for people to understand the vision but long term it’s better for your brands , don’t make what people want to hear but need to hear
that’s just a stupid statement respectfully cuz even if u blow up doing what everybody else is doing without making something of ur own u will eventually fall off… u said “it may worked for him” YEAH BRO IT DID CUZ HE IS STUPIDLY TALENTED that’s why he is able to keep is audience and a great level for so many years… if u are doing music just to blow up ur not even respecting music
I feel this. especially when he mentioned not sending out snippets of stuff. I understand certain artists sending out snippets to test how it's going to be received as a marketing tool but I'm almost certain that in those circles, people send snippets of records out.
Yes but do they last , no , create your own , be your own , thrive in your own , nobody can copy your rawness (that’s where a cult like following is built)
Tyler’s right but those artists don’t have the fan base to determine if people will mess with it because it’s them. Chris brown has issues with that and he’s Chris brown. Breezy didn’t do as good as the previous two other projects initially. And many don’t have an occult following like Kendrick or Cole lol

Asap’s career really isn’t all that groundbreaking or successful. He only has a cult following, unlike his A-list baby momma and A-list/mainstream friends. You especially see this when you’re looking at him in the same video as Virgil and Tyler.
