As I child I had this music (fragments of it) across a couple of 78s in my very random record collection, and I must have listened to them around 1000 times over I was young enough to think of it as this collection of freaky noises and sounds... it's quite spooky and spine-chilling in places, and very wonderful It is amazing watching this enormous orchestra play it out. Of course as a child you don't imagine all of the work that has gone on behind it, to write and score and reproduce it. That in itself is mind-blowing
Igor STRAVINSKY. Quelle puissance créatrice ! Pierre Boulez est chez lui dans cette partition. Merci pour le partage. Cette oeuvre est un "testament inversé", une promesse exceptionnelle.
“Ach du lieber, mein schatz”!!! “MAGNIFICENT”! Unbelievable musicianship! As EXCITING a piece as you’ll ever hear! HOW HOW HOW can a composer conceive of such “music”?! It’s the experience of a lifetime!!! I sit in AWE!
Thank you very much for your comment! :) Every Thursday until the 17th of October, a new excerpt of the concert will be published and compiled in this playlist: bit.ly/EA-PierreBoulez-Salzburg Hope you enjoy it!

Is it just me or the recording but he Grosse Festspielhaus in Salzburg seemed to have a more live reverberant sound back in the 90 and earlier. Lately it seems I have been seeing videos filmed here that make the sound seem very dry and dead.... not sure if it the recording or if changes were made to the hall.
Wonderful piece and wonderful performance by an all boy band. This was thirty years ago and there were no women in that orchestra, Here is the proof you need that men have, through the ages, relegated women to second class positions. We still have a long way to go before all people are treated equally.
😂 🤣 LOL! Actually proof that idiots like you are paid to show up with insipid politicized ahistorical non-sequiturs everywhere they can on TH-cam. Even here.
My, you simply ooze Political Correctness. Nay, gush! And now that you've used this video to push someone else's PC agenda, do you have anything intelligent and/or constructive to say about the subject, the music? At the very least you might've commented on Pierre's sadly ridiculous comb-over.
In Rio, at the age of seven, I fell in love with an excerpt from this work by Stravinsky, selected by a tasteful sound artist as a prefix - imagine - from Tarzan's Adventures. Strange are the ways of discovering art. The Song of Nightingale is unique, exotic, mysterious. In a way, it opens the portals of a universe similar, perhaps, to a remote corner of the Amazon Forest. Bravo, Igor Stravinsky! Bravo, virtuosos of this singular orchestra! Bravo, Pierre Boulez!

One of my favorite pieces by Stravinsky.
Genial, MERVEILLEUX orchestre !!!! Merci beaucoup.

一流になるとピッチも自在にコントロールしちゃうんだからすごいなあと思う、それもまた、効果的に!!
When Stravinsky died DSO condutor Sixten Ehrling changed the program to the Rossignol, the Firebird and Sacre from memory. WOW! Ford Auditorium shook.
Merci encore
Incredible! Thanks for sharing! ❤️✨
