- Stay tuned until the end for a tour of our hotel, and a cost breakdown of our expenses.
We start our adventure on the way to Cuetzalan from Huamantla where we stop at a waterfall (Cascada de la Olla) in the town of Apulco. Unlike most waterfalls in Mexico it was a super easy hike.
Later after arriving in Cuetzalan we grab a bite to eat at a very local restaurant (Comedor a la Leña "Doña Mary") where they make their food over old style wood stoves. Afterwards we head into centro and visit the beautiful church in the main square (Parroquia de San Francisco de Asís) before snapping our photo in front of the town letters. Then we stop by the Casa de Cultura which houses a small museum, and the artesanía market across the street. That night we met up with Antonio (cousin of our Orizaba Airbnb host) to eat at a restaurant with an amazing view of town.
The next day we head out of town to visit the small archeological zone of Yohualichan and a waterfall (Cascada Las Brisas). While searching for the waterfall we ran into a nice lady who became our unexpected guide.
Back in Cuetzalan we have a great meal at Taol before heading to another church in town with a beautiful cemetery in front of it (Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe). Our last stop is to see a hotel (Lienzo Charro "El Potrillo") which is owned by Antionio's brother. Here they have a rodeo (charro) show every weekend.
Wow! Just beautiful landscapes.
@@uliseszarate6561 we loved the mountains and the waterfalls, the roads not so much lol
Thank you for all of the great videos over the past couple of years, it has helped us create our bucket list for Mexico. Your videos are well made and we watch every Sunday. Inspiration for my husband and I. We start in GDL in about two months! Very excited!
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoy our channel. I hope you end up loving Mexico as much as we do. Good luck and have fun!
What a neat place to see. Great videos.
Thank you!
Excellent video! Cuetzalan is near the top of my Mexico list. There's a nearby pueblo magico Tetela de Ocampo that looks interesting. Zacatlan too!
In other news: we got our Temporary Resident visas! We have until Feb. 9 to travel to Mexico to get our cards.
Awesome glad things are going smoothly! We loved Zacatlan, it was one of our favorites. We skipped Tetela de Ocampo so you'll have to let us know how it is when you go.
