Great video love the commentary. I to suffer from the Massey addiction. The most fun filter I've come across is on my 750 combine. There is a hydraulic filter in the bottom of the hydraulic tank that is only accessible from the top. Good times there for sure! Keep up the videos truly enjoyable.
You should send this video to Massey Ferguson and just show them how smart they really should’ve been😂😂 just couldn’t stop laughing about everything else
Awesome videos man I like your videos so much and I’ve always like Massey Ferguson and because your videos I actually went out and bought a 165 what 1973 gasser now I get to do the same process keep up the great videos man guaranteed I’m watching cheers
I believe you enjoy working on them Ferguson if I still had mine but I had to let mine roll on but if you need some deal wheel I but they got real weighted down rim
New sub and Thumbs Up from a fellow Michigan sufferer here - lol --> Great channel and content! A humble suggestion (if there's room for rotation) would be to weld a palm wide piece of the dipstick material to the neck plug bolt and make a T-handle on it for "in the field" operation. Maybe patent the whole setup and sell it to Massey?
1 pump oils the transmission and steering, if u lose steering u have a problem in that system, the other one runs the remotes, if u lose hyd then something between the back and the tank, the pump brackets will wear out in about 8-10,000 hrs, can’t keep them tight, added a 2 in nipple and filled with a hose on a funnel
I just wondered about this to you I was going to change the filter on that 11:35 Ferguson that time they told me the filter was in the bottom of the rear you had to take the bottom plate off of it that's what I was told
There is a screen filter on the bottom on the 11 series tractors. I’ve cleaned the one on my 1100 before. There’s a square cover with I think about 10 bolts and the drawbar bracket has to come down. It’s not as bad as it sounds 😉
Getting sh tuff in your eyes? Glasses are no better. The gunk bounces off your head, flys inside your glasses, rebounds off the glass, accelerates directly in your eye! Safety glasses about the same as regular prescription. I've gotten more junk in my eyes not from grinding, but just gravity related dirt during repairs! If you wanted to eliminate a funnel, there are some step up in size options for the final coupler on the fill tube. But, that big stuff doubles the cost! 😉
after running it and giving it a full turn in either direction, it went from 3-4” on the stick to just touching the bottom. I added another almost gallon and brought it to 2.5-3” on the dipstick. that being said, that will give more oil than she ever was able to take. I figure anything over the 5 gal it calls for won’t hurt it at all, 6 makes me feel good about things 😉
Your videos are useful and entertaining! I grew up with the 100 series back in the late 60's and 70's. Great to see Fluffy in on the action.
Glad you like them!
"it doesn't need to be perfect only good enough" love the Red Green/JT philosophy
It's a beautiful Massey Ferguson that's all that matters
We only had small masseys
I grew up on them...my dad was head tractor driver

"It ain't gotta be perfect, it's just gotta be good enough" - I love it! Is that JT's official motto?
yes it is! thinking of making a meme of it 😆
That would be a very cool tee shirt , LOL .
Another fun filled adventure on the MF , Fluffy is just the icing on the cake . Thanks JT !

Hi Jt , great stuff , I do similar on the Massey’s 1200s and 1250s here in the uk ! Have a look at masseydave 👍👍
I watched you yesterday actually 😉.
I like those 1250’s you have on the other side of the pond.

that’s a good idea! I keep a pair of pliers in the cab to pull that plug but I think a tee would be the way to go. 😉

Cool!
Brilliant dude 👍🏻
thanks! just wait till I convert it to a disc brake system 😉
That was a good easy update! I like the layout of your farm. How many acres around the barns there?
the barnyard sits on 5. The layout works well for me 😉
Very good!!!

Yup,,a little swampy.
Teflon on the threads?
Hey JT just wondering if you’re going to fix the brakes in the 1805 MF? Hope to see a video soon.
Actually I will be doing a disc brake conversion on it in the near future

I hear that.. been to the ER because of stuff in my eyes WITH glasses on. a guy just can’t win 😆. bingo on the trans fill… gotta keep it in budget 😉
Extra half gallon would fill the filter almost full. How much did it drop after you ran her for a while?
