      Stalin eliminated poverty? I'll bet all those Russians who were standing in bread-lines starving to death would have been thrilled to hear that news. Same with the 10+ million dissidents Stalin had executed or thrown into gulags.
      Communism *NEVER* works, and it never will. And communists never understand this until they're so hungry that they're eating their fucking boots. Soviet Russia could afford 10 AK-47s for each citizen in the country, but couldn't afford to ensure 3 meals a day to each citizen... yeah, sounds great! Maybe if you find a way to cook and eat a Kalashnikov it'd work!

If the USA did lose superpower status China would be calling the shots. I like Americans I have American friends, the Government hasn't always been perfect, but believe they do good most of the time. That's why we have corporation for this even Europe has to go through the Western US dollar stock market Fed Corporate Mafia to do business with its former colonies, so Duterte can give Europe the middle finger cause in terms of commerce Europe is nothing. We ensure they don't get to powerful by manipulating board and CEO of companies and particularly powerful Corporations, we rather have docile, opportunistic and easy to control locals and officials from other countries than Americans who when they get to powerful they will threaten the old European Order. By the way Chris I hope that it's not true as the rumor say that your grandfather is a Chinese cause since your in Hongkong cause if its true Xi JiPing might have a job for you and deport you back to China and you will like it where you will be singing and dancing a different tune to the glory of the Mao cultural propaganda dance! In the early 1900s, a lot of Chinese moved to Thailand, fleeing poverty, even before Mao. A lot of them became very successful, like owning factories then corporations successful. I am a 3rd gen and 3/4 Chinese (though I consider myself Thai) and I have no feelings for or against China, except for the ccp that can go die in a ditch. The fact that there are many Chinese here isnt the main factor in why we tend to what China wants, at least from what ive seen.
    Not saying that everyone wants to suck up to China but enough of the rich and powerful do any everyone else really cant do much to stop it, mostly because (lots of) money and rampant corruption.
    That coupled with the fact that Thailand is a very mellow place due to our history (giving territory to the colonial powers to avoid conflict) and geographical position (the worst we get are annual monsoon rain), that we become too pacifistic and just let everyone else roll over us to avoid conflict which is our greatest strength and weakness. We used to be ahead of Japan in technology a few hundred years ago (we had trains before them) and now we are a stagnating 2nd world country. The Junta is bad but at least they arent the other parties who are champagne socialists running on their parents money or ego driven business men (i know them, i am related to one) who will just repeat what Taksin did in the first place.

      Chinese people are in china for far longer ,one of our first kings was half chinese half thai (name: taksin ) ,you probably already know but still others might not know. The info on how long chinese are in thailand is mainly false info. We have them here for a long time already but not as noticable until a certain time period. (inlcudes some of my family members who are thai & chinese mixed. The chinese ones in our fam. came long before the 19/20 century) , but since they didnt live in big cities ,also integrated perfectly etc people dont notice chinese people like them. Especially Southern chinese people, who often look similar to thai people, south chinese people are mainly very dark and some just brown naturally etc. Also back then people didnt care either, hence the reason for the UNnoticing of chinese existing there (+ who speak fluent thai, south china has some dialects who are VERY similar to thai language, so its not that hard to learn thai speaking from there)

    Per treaty, we extradite criminals of all nationalities to our country for trial as well.
    Not saying that it is good, bad, or otherwise, I'm just not sure how (other than ideologies) what China is doing in these instances are any different than what the United States routinely does.
    Now, if you want to argue about the comparative ideologies, then you definitively have the higher moral and ethical ground from which to make that argument, but we certainly don't have the right to criticize a China for a *Process* that we, ourselves, use quite extensively.
    That would be pure hypocrisy.

    • @TheSeanUhTron
      @TheSeanUhTron 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The US extradites according to treaties that both countries have agreed on and is usually done against people who've committed serious crimes. China exerts political pressure to bully other countries into illegally deporting political dissidents.
      No government is free from wrong doing, of course. But the US is much less corrupt than China.

    Here in Australia an extradition treaty is being negotiated with China. The treaty is being promoted as a means to curb crimes like drugs and people trafficking. However, human rights advocates from China, Tibet, Hong Kong and Taiwan, could be accused of a "crime" by the Chinese police and shipped off to China by the Australian police under the terms of this proposed extradition treaty. There is resistance to ratifying the treaty due to concerns about China’s human rights record but it could become law at any time. With Australian political parties, universities and so on receiving money from the Chinese it is certain that they are exerting a lot of influence behind the scenes.

    Thai people do not discriminate Thai with Chinese-blood. Most of them live here for generations and they all count themselves as Thai, not Chinese, though they will clarify that they do have Chinese-blood. My point is Thai and Chinese people integrate very well in Thailand. Our late kings accepted their immigration and worked hard for us all to live together in peace, which has turned out very well. Therefore, I wouldn't call us (Thailand) being part of China, for all the "Thai-Chinese" people have counted themselves as Thai, not Chinese.

    4:50 When you talked about NEPAL, the police don't randomly harass the Tibetan Refugees here in Nepal. Nepal supports One China Policy and when Tibetans refugees come to the streets to protest only then the police takes action against them. Nepal occasionally forces Tibetan refugees captured near the border to return to China, but has never publicly deported Tibetans who make it past the border area. Instead, the government usually transfers them to the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees).
