Bravo for both artists! Please do work on girare - it will make your highs en pair with lows. And those are marvellous! I've been looking for how this titanic piece sounds when the lows are clear, thank you! "Morte" is chilling, "scoglio" tells the disgust, "tempesta" is a little like thunder, "amor" is amorous... And the brilliant, Chopinistic clarity and Mozartian humor of the piano, my God! Here the piano too sings all those shifting emotions and thoughts. I love the "don't take it too serious" on "scoglio", the "droplets" after "tempesta", the ghost of the vengeful Queen of the Night in the finale! What a refreshing, eye-opening, fascinating interpretation... You Two created a magical counterpoint to each other, great art!
I am so thankful for your insights! This is my first “deep dive” in soprano repertoire, and I appreciate you taking the time to write this for me. Full disclosure, I’ve had it for about two weeks before recording it, so talk about a deep dive!
I wouldn't guess - the result is beautiful! Your lows remind me of Callas in Carmen and of Eva Podles, please keep it like that if you can. Please try girare and yodel-flip on the way to the high notes - it's simple tricks a little forgotten in our days. Your highs are already good and can be even better. You touched me deeply. I'm listening to this recording again and again, amazed, discovering new gems in the aria I'd heard many, many times. Thank you!!
Bravo Ms. Randall and Mr. Thompson!
Thank you so much! :)
My Dorabella singing Fiordiligi?!? I'm so impressed! Great job!
Aw thank you my Fiordiligi! :) A new chapter into challenging repertoire!
