🔷 IMPORTANT INFO:
Yes, there are several ways of doing this.
• For separating a Character, the method I've shown will help you suffer less with 'unproportioned body parts' & will give you higher-quality body parts.
PLEASE, the Body Map way will cause disproportionate & low-quality images. And the IbisPaint part is required for getting rid of the background.
• You can only use either PARENTING or GROUPS
It's not mandatory to use any or both.
(Only use one of them to set up the character) Parenting requires Premium and Grouping is Free.
• If you can't put a layer onto the Folder (In IbisPaint X), then simply just swipe right the layer that is under the folder.
🛑 HAVING A FOLDER ISSUE?
Just skip that part and select the Transform Tool.
Then scroll down and set it to "Canvas."
That part was only added because the Canvas Transform feature was not available at the time.
● Check 07:10 for pivot points.
TAP ON THE LOCATION SYMBOL
AND THEN YOU'LL GET THE PIVOT POINT.
Now just place it using the control pad.

The things like canvas sizes, and some other parts that I sped up are mostly unimportant. But it is indeed my fault for speeding up just because I wanted the video to not be like 3 hours long.

Just select the layer under the folder, and SWIPE RIGHT.

@@KaziAidahHaque this tutorial didn’t work for me on the erasing background part. When I tried to take off the fifth part of the background, the leg piece wouldn’t show up for some reason!

i'm back a year later, and i gotta say, this method really isn't that complicated once you learn the basics of it! it helps so much with tweening, animating and other stuff that well most definitely be useful for. altough, i don't wanna completely just copy the style, so i'm going to experiment a bit until i find my desired style! again, thanks for the help!

Tip:instead of using magic wand to remove background, use the bucket tool to remove it, it has a picture of a pen(i think) and a picture lf an eraser, click on eraser and click in the parts u want to remove!

Dude, I've been using ibis paint for like years now and I have not know about the magic wand function till now. Thank you so much.
It's extremely complicated
yeah it is, but when u learn, it's not longer difficult, make it count!
1:31 a little help u can use body maps and take a screenshot of it then go to a background eraser and erase the background with the eraser tool and target then import the png to ibis paint and use the lasso to separate the parts into different layers. To do that lasso the body part then click the square and choose cut then paste and it will move it to another layer after click a body part and click “save as transparent png”

8:19 just a little tip if you want the character to lean foreword without having to move the head much, place the pivot point in the neck instead. you can still do it with it near the bottom but I find it easier to have it at the neck

Quick tip, I recommend that you add screen space for flat eyes, this really helps you make it more flat
