I’d love to see more of that. I’m so sick of getting a game I paid for and it’s unplayable for a solid week after it launches. Although definitely a first world problem and something that shouldn’t bother me much as a nobody with no talent who couldn’t possibly produce a playable game, it’s just a little frustrating.

We'll see how it pans out. I bet the early access will still have a lot of issues that need to be ironed out before the final release, but it will most likely already be a game worth playing.

man this looks absolutely amazing! they really listened to feedback from players, especially the non-tryhards who probably constituted a very large percentage of players, but stopped playing after a while due to the exceedingly complex mechanics. This way, they can retain more concurrent players and satisfy everyone instead of just the tryhards!
The reveal felt like one of those infomercials where the host keeps going "but wait, there's more" as they just kept going down a list that blizzard would have turned into a half century or so of content, or just binned for putting creativity ahead of monetisation. The skill gems and passive tree system were what got me to buy into the originals beta, played for a bit and upgraded to a higher bundle. Bought a number of the supporter packs since then and have got access to the beta for POE2 as a result. I'm no minmaxxer by any extent but the potential to experiment with new gems and find out how far I can take something knowing that at somepoint it will fall flat. It's a game with complexity but a fair bit is down to the cult of meta members pushing guides that lock folk into playing trade of exile with "starter" builds that require specific unique items to work. 6 months for final polish, the games been worked on for quite a while and a good number of the systems have been tested in the original via leagues The EA price is buying that cash value of shop points, if they follow the same routine as for POE1 there will be regular sales for things like stash tabs so that money can go quite a long way.
4 important things: - There's only 20 "Dual spec" points. So you cannot switch your whole tree on weapon swap. - There IS a Regional Pricing on Steam. So the game isn't 30$ everythere. For my region it's the equivalent of 15$ - There's A LOT of endgame content. So don't be scared by EA tag. - There will be A LOT of balancing during EA. but there's also going to be added the other 6 classes BEFORE full release. The rest 3 acts will come later though.
@@gemelwalters2942some companies can be trusted, not many but some. GGG is a Dev team I trust to put out an ea game that will definitely mould into a 1.0 and beyond masterpiece. Have you seen the 1.5h reveal? There is more game there than most full release titles

The skill gem change is a nice one, your skills being tied to gear slots was always kind of annoying especially in the early game or when you were new. The new skill combos and interaction is going to be very fun.
I threw down the 30 to start day 1 as soon as it was available. I didn't play the first game, but I've played many games that are similar. I'm excited to try this game.
Tbh, I wouldn't recommend it if you're not already familiar. Poe1 is great if you know what you're doing but kinda awful for new players. If you're an arpg vet and want something to mess with for a week, go ahead. Otherwise, just wait for poe2, imo

Only thing I wish for this game is more help with understanding character building built into the game. Pro’s know what they are doing but for people who are casual it’s very difficult to learn
I think that there will be recommended skill gems for example and more in-game explanation. It's true though, these games have a bit of a learning curve but it's more than worth the effort if you like games with a lot of depth and complexity.
I've never played a free to play game, but I really want to try Path of Exile 2, and I don't know what to expect. I don't understand this method of remuneration, what will I have to buy just to run the campaign ? Anyway, I'm going to do some research.
That's fine. Everyone should do what they want with any games they buy. Everyone has different value propositions for these things. No shade for it. Early Access isn't really the same as a Beta though. I understand if it's not for you though.
@@stuartmorley6894 Early Access, is now Beta. It really shouldn't be but that's how it's now defined on many of these platforms...as work in progress. Whenever you go to buy an EA game I'm pretty sure steam makes that clear to you as well, otherwise they would open themselves up to law suits.

I'm not familiar with GGG but from the outside looking in as a new potential customer, this just looks like their encouraging FOMO to get ppl to buy a beta. I like Path of Exiles…to an extent. I have a life so I can’t go super into it. You can’t “customize”your character till WAY later in the game. I’m thinking. But I don’t know yet. It definitely reminds me of Diablo 2. Just WAY more complex and tedious. With all that said, I love the challenge ✊

Up to around a year for early access. They never stated it will be 6 months, that is the earluest but not likely. How are you not providing the full context of this? If the game had microtransactions the tone of this preview would be so different
if you pay for early access, you will then get an equal amount of store credit to purchase items in the store.
The video didin't mention it but the 30$ early access also comes with 30$ worth of points to spend in cash shop for microtransactions/stash tabs

full release is free but early access is paid. You also get premium currency for buying EA. You can not play offline.
