Samira's skin is SOOO good. I'm so sad it's ultimate priced, because if it was legendary priced, I definitely would buy it :,(
That is so sad. Cuz in a vacuum it is a really pretty skin and if it was priced at 1820 it would definitely be worth it
But 3250? Charging the same amount I could spend on DJ Sona or Elementalist Lux? No way.

@@kauanjos3199 DJ Sona has entirely new animations instead of recicled ones, plus a very different design and feel to the original, and comes with 3 different songs the entire team can hear.
And it's a 8 years old skin.

That Vi cut in was hilarious. I’m still amazed that across all their games they didn’t think to put the big fist fighter lady in the fighting game skin line. I can only hope they’re waiting for another wave some years later to give her a legendary

The worst part about Samira is that the slapped on her being a part of "social fund bundle".
She is of legendary quality only, but her price is almost double. So said 50% of sale of this skin leaves the price of a legendary left for Riot to take.
So the whole "charity" part is just forcing players to pay extra tax, while Rito keeps what they wanted to have from regular legedary price, so they lose nothing - not charitable at all.
@@Art51151 personally I don't see how it's barely passable as a legendary. It is a legendary or legendary+ not an ultimate.

What's funny about Soul Fighter Samira, she actually does have an element akin for Ultimate skins.
She has a custom font for damage numbers. Which in my opinion, is a step in the right direction, if Riot took that and dialed it to 11 like an entirely new UI, I'd be down for that Ultimate pricing. Kill feedback, Multikill banner, scoreboard, HUD, etc.
I think her price is justified. It's pretty much the best looking skin in the game and it has so many different mechanics. The Font change alone is unique to her skin which could easily qualify her as Ultimate. I don't understand why everyone is complaining. Samira's animations are wonderful on her base model. If they look good, they look good. I'm sure Samira players would easily pay twice that amount for that good of a skin. Riot outdid themselves and the price reflects that imo.

@@SiMeGamer it's a good skin but i don't think it's even a top 20 contender for the best skin in the game, sadly. a good legendary burdened by its pricetag. if she had the bare minimum of *one* form change the public opinion would probably be much better.
@SiMeGamer bro, Elementalist Lux is waaaaaay better and at this point it's 6 3/4 years old. As much as I hate Lux as a poster child the skin is still probably the best skin with the most value of any skin in the game
@@beppermint4092 It probably also depends on your subjective opinion of "best" skin in the game. I agree that's it's not Top 20, but only because I only play Samira once every so often, and I just love the Space Groove aesthetic too much to buy another Sam skin. I imagine a Sam main or an ArcSys fan might think differently.
5:43 - He doesnt have all unique stuff like Pentakill map change and stuff... but beside that production value on this viego skin is CRAZY good with Isolde-Wraith guiding the blade on every spell cast and almost twice as many voicelines and no reused model animations and NORMAL LEGENDARY PRICE TAG.
At this point it wouldn't surprise me if they cut off the pentakill celebration to not diminish even more the public opinion of the Samira's skin
i love this skin line sm (ignoring that half of the roster are mains of mine) i just love the style and flair the line has, and tho this might be a crazy theory i can def see the influence recent films like spiderverse and puss in boots have had on the moddleing and FX team the way they place so much emphasis on the blending of 2d and 3d animation (which ik theyve been doing for years but this skinline feels like they rly put all theyre effort into that style) and the fashion is just sharp af to the point where i prefer the base skins over the prestige (as someone who simps for those skins non stop) also YEA GG ARC SYSTEM WOOOO (guilty gear is the only fighting game ive played purely for the visuals cough cough)

The cell-shading and vibrant colors of all the skins is already an A+ for me so this whole line is pretty awesome. Might get the Sett, Viego, and Jhin skins since I like to play them

As a casual guilty gear strive enjoyer, I'm SUPER excited to see the Viego skin in game because it just screams happy chaos who is my favorite character design in that game (which is suprising because Faust is so god tier character design wise IMO)

The lux skin feels so odd to me because, it is actually a case of skin being designed with a certain colour scheme in mind, and then it changed in the final product, and got shoved into the chromas so that they can milk you for a colour scheme that the skin was supposed to have.

The art style is really a refresher! Reminds me of the Spider-verse one, more over a good trip down memory lane with Fright Night! Can't wait to see Gwen!
As an Eclipse Universe appreciator, I'm happy that the legendary and ultimate skins of Soul Fighter are for champions that ACTUALLY fit the theme and ACTUALLY are important for the skin universe lore (I'm staring directly at Sivir with a totally judgemental glare here)
Counterpoint: Pyke's skin feels like a marriage between Jojo and Guilty Gear and because you don't often see bald characters in those universes, of course they give him bright but very short hair. I agree non-bald pyke is strange, however I'm not sure the skin would work as well without the brightly colored hair. ON A SEPERATE NOTE, Samira shouldve kept the I-no/Happy Chaos style fit that she had in her skin concept art.
The animation for Samira's skin is so good I honestly don't mind it being classified as an ultimate skin.

i definitely didn't think about guilty gear being the inspiration but i see it now that you put clips side by side lmao, i was thinking more jojo's bc of similar reasons ^^; heavy line art, dramatic fashion choices, lux's hat, they all made me think of certain moments in the anime :>
i would like to point out that this skinline ALSO HAS JOJO REFERENCESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSS FINALLY(btw prestige soul fighter pyke looks almost like pucci ;P, and viego's is apparently supposed to be like giorno, there's even a comparison between the two on the internet that i saw), and i love it!

Here's the thing, Riot had made Dual Legendaries in Events(Star Guardian is one of them). I hate how they didn't just do this, instead of making the Skin's Ultimate

BRO I WAs SO EXCITED FOR THAT NILAH SKIN. as a pc only player im shook, that one again, wild rift gets the cool skin for the champ i want to play (bewitching vex, all the hexplorer skins, and not to mention the exclusive TF legendary skin). well done riot, at least soulfighter viego makes a jojo refrence. oh and spoiler, the viego skin is p. good.

For samira they should have started her out black and white and as you kill minions or deal damage like Elementalist lux you can pick colours of her skin instead of it already being red and blue. Skin looks amazing but it needs the forms.

what makes a fun zoner in fighting games in my opinion are the ones that actually play around their projectiles rather than just spamming the same one from full screen so it would have been more fitting to have a control mage rather than the "copy and paste lux in every new skinline that will sell well"

I think what meant to happen with the sam skin is it was supposed to be a legendary then they realized they were giving it more stuff then viego who would also be a legendary to they upped it to ultimate and made the extra money on it for charity instead.
Nicholas J. Boi Esq. is the first person to really articulate the Samira skin problem WITHOUT just hating the skin itself - it’s such a perfect fit for her character, the theme is a banger, the voice lines are on point (and with the original voice actress too!!), but it’s just not worth the ultimate skin price (as much as I do want it…) which, to me, screams riot management is trying to take advantage of the in-client event and jack up the price of the ‘main character’ because people will like her more… which is a real shame. This would have been such a great legendary skin.

Viego is one of my favorite legendaries of recent years imo. NOTHING TOPS THE TORTURE DANCE. It's unfortunate the ramblings of love are still there though.
Initially saw the sett skin as sf6 Luke, but you now pointing it out, ruby just being sol means he is the poster boy for 2 different fighting games in 1 skin, and you choose to just represent which one

just due to the sheer level of extra stuff in samira i think it would be reasonable to price it higher than the average legendary skin but to treat it like an ultimate skin is insane

I’m really happy about the sett skin because I felt he didn’t really have any skins before hand that were anything special. But when I saw the soul fighter sett skin I knew I had to buy it for my boy.
Soul Fighter Samira's animations aren't re-used, they just look similar because Samira's animations already have a similar amount of flair to them due to being a riff on characters like Dante. I also don't think it's worth the ultimate price, but the animations are not the problem.

I have a huge soft spot for the Soul Fighter Lux skin for one reason and that reason is the wings she gets when she ults. I love skins that give champions wings. It helps to make the champion feel a bit more epic! That being said, a better fit for a zoner fighter skin could have been Vel'Koz or Xerath, two champions who don't always get love when it comes to the skin department.

I just realized, did they make Samira the ultimate skin cause it changes the font and color of the damage output numbers on enemy champions? Flashy I guess, but it's a change no one would notice since we only care how much health we chip from the enemy's life bar, not the big number shown on the enemy as they take damage

Viego Torture Dance perfectly sums up my opinion about Samira
Lux is probably here because they imagined her gimmick as an obstacle in the 2v2v2v2 game mode before making the skin. Because the laser beam thing can only really be done by Lux.
Senna has a beam to but it doesn't have the tiny little beam that you're meant to avoid when Lux shows up as an obstacke.

@@Relevart9169 Yes but on the new chapter, they put it in the trailer, recall and dance and that’s it. No matter the feedback they never gave it for “visual clarity” which is strange considering they’re making all women have the same face and have no problems giving others hat and new shapes
