    Remember teens wrote this.
    "Queen Of The Murder Scene".
    A concept album. From the beginning to the end, in order to tell a story. The First song is a prolog, "Dust to Dust. After it the songs are in characters (4 chapters, 3 songs each)
    This is a link to the concert in 2018 where they debut the complete album.
    th-cam.com/video/9VciU3gMMUY/w-d-xo.html.
    You could do the first. Then a chapter for each reaction.
    Have fun! These girls are so driven ( on their own). The only thing Dany's
    Dad said to her.(when she asked for a real guitar [7yo], was she had to try for 6 months. She said after the first week, she wanted to quit. (Her fingers were so sore). But a promise is a promise. See her parents were supportive in the wright way.

    They have a full sound, they use some backing tracks, sometimes adding a bit of keyboard (which they all play) and bits of guitar, but there have been numerous occasions where they’ve had technical problems and lost their click and backing and it’s been hard to tell. I’ve probably watched over 100 videos of their live shows (they just played 103 live shows in 2022 and someone was always recording or streaming) and when something goes wrong they barely blink, most people never know. This one was from a couple shows in Mexico City and the first time they played through their new album Error in its entirety. Thanks for coming back to these amazing sisters. 😊

    • @bobmiller6870
      @bobmiller6870 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Aye. One thing I've been impressed with from Alejandra, Daniela, and Paulina is just how tight they play live. You can tell they really put a lot of work and practice in to get to where they are at as musicians. And I know someone is going to take offense to 2ndhandsouls saying or asking if the ladies use tracks, but they shouldn't as most all bands use click or backing tracks during live shows now-a-days. The band is still performing and playing live, but the tracks are just there to create a "fuller" sound. A lot of vocalists layer their vocals and will sing a step or half step up or below them or to recreate a sound or instrument used in the studio on the album. I'm not sure if The Warning do that with vocals since Ale, Dani, and Pauli all sing, but a good example is the cash register sound for example on the song "Money." It is actually quite difficult to play in time with backing tracks because if any of the band is off, even a wee bit, it is really noticeable and there is also the problem if the tracks get fouled up during a performance. And despite modern technology, things still go wrong with those things, but as you stated, the girls just don't miss a beat from what I can see and hear. I know Paulina talked about it in an interview because she does most of the programming for the tracks they use live. Dani has also talked about her equipment set up and looping her guitar through her pedal board.
      edit: Talking about issues that arrise when using backing tracks, and I know both the Who and ELO had some notorious issues back in the day with some of their live concerts when their system went awry. Pauli mentioned in an interview that that has happened to them during some shows but she has the ability to stop the restart the tracks as needed if that happens.

    • @spaceknave
      @spaceknave ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@bobmiller6870 absolutely. I just brought it up since it had been mentioned. Our friends here at 2ndhandsouls are musicians and understand this, but the debate still pops up occasionally even from people that should know better unfortunately because of some bad examples that popped up usually in televised performances when things go wrong and people get the impression that a band is “faking” it. The Warning has maintained a Herculean practice schedule since they were very young and can play tight without help. There are a number of fascinating interviews they’ve done where they go into technical details regarding the programming that goes into their live shows, especially thinking of when Fil from Wings of Pegasus did a segment where they got into discussing their gear. So in addition to being talented musicians so young, they also have a commanding understanding of programming their live shows and they do it all themselves, which is just another insight into how competent they are.

    • @don-music
      @don-music ปีที่แล้ว +8

      honestly, it sounds to me like they are using fewer and fewer backing tracks. I hear one extra guitar, and only then very rarely in this... they are starting to realize the purity of Ale's bass tone standing on it's own without an overdriven rhythm guitar track doubling it... it doesn't need it, and I heard a clean guitar doing 3 note chords in one part of the song only while dany was playing heavy chords... and other than that if there are tracks then they are VERY subtle. Not like the days of "where the heck is that piano coming from?" or "I hear a banjo, an orchestra bass drum, a tambourine, an extra guitar, a synthesizer..." LoL, which is ALL good, that's how I've done live performances for decades... but it's REALLY cool if they can pull it off with as little of that as possible, imho. It just makes it all the more pure rock n roll

    • @rexwave4624
      @rexwave4624 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In QOTMS, there's a supplemental melody as Dany plays the chug-chug guitar. I forget which Error tune, there's a big B3 sound.

    • @mjc1389
      @mjc1389 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They have stated in numerous interviews that they try to write and compose their music in a way they can play it live with a minimum of “help” from technology.
      It also seems that as Ale has grown up and become known for being a very accomplished bassist that the band relies on her ability to help fill out and expand their sound.
      The slide on the bass when they dropped everything out before the last chorus was super cool.

    Welcome to The Warning rabbit hole. There are a lot of us old rockers who have enjoyed a similar journey finding these talented women. They are fantastic live. Gman has described them as a studio-quality live band. I saw them twice in 2022. Once in a small club in Reading PA. The other in Arkansas with Halestorm. Both times fantastic.
    FYI, CDMX is the tetragraph designator for Cuidad de Mexico (or for us English speakers, Mexico City). This video was from a pair of live shows they gave and filmed in Mexico City. Most of us can't wait until the entire show is released so we can see the entire concert at this quality. They do indeed use some backing tracks to fill in some sound but, 1) they play all those tracks, and 2) they have shown plenty of times that they play and sound great when the tracks are missing.
    Thanks for coming back to them again. Enjoyed your comments.

    BTW, while they said their parents were part of the band they didn't mean as musicians. Mom and Dad have been very supportive and really love music but they don't play instruments or anything. Actually, mom is a dentist and dad is a civil engineer by training. I believe Luis also did some audio work as well and they still travel with the ladies. Dad manages along with Rudy while mom keeps things running smoothly with costumes and whatever else is needed. They generally stay in the background but are definitely a big part of the success of the band.

    Really good presentation. The studio "live version" is pretty good too. And yes, they use some backing tracks recorded by themselves, so the soundscape is bigger. Go for "Evolve".

    • @robertott1172
      @robertott1172 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      They use backing tracks on some songs. Dany also sometimes loops her guitar through her pedal board, not necessarily to sound like a second guitar, but to fatten the sound of her single guitar. The ladies also get a bigger sound because Dany plays both lead and rhythm guitar, Ale plays rhythm bass but also serves as a second guitar for Dany, and Pau uses the drums not only for rhythm but also fills out the song. Then, add three vocalists on top of that.

  • @briggsy5893
    @briggsy5893 ปีที่แล้ว +38

    The ladies have said that the two shows they performed at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX (which is Mexico City) were the biggest of their career so far. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I have gathered that is kind of the Mexican equivalent of selling out Radio City Music Hall in New York - not the biggest venue, but very prestigious. They sold out two shows there in August on a Saturday and Monday nights. This video was part of the professional recording they had done during the shows that is being released to their Patreons now, but will eventually be released in full to the public. The fan videos of these concerts are amazing, but these videos take it to a whole new level. To answer a couple of your questions during the video, Pau wrote this song about a friendship of hers that turned sour over some perceived slight or another and this is the result. Yes, they do use some backing tracks but they have guidelines on that for live shows. Among those rules is that they want the song to be able to stand up live even with a technical problem that prevents them from using the tracks (which I think actually happened for one of the songs during these shows one night). They play all the tracks themselves that they use, and they have to in some cases as there is piano parts in some songs as well as needing the rhythm guitar during Dany's solos in some songs. There are also some vocal tracks that they use mostly on some Queen of the Murder Scene songs like screams and laughs as well as a man's part in Dust to Dust that was actually recorded by their manager Rudy. Really enjoying watching y'all take this journey down The Warning rabbit hole and can't wait for more.

      I was wondering about the sgnifigance of Teatro Metropolitan, thank you. They have of course played in MX city before, and bigger venues than this, but now I have a better idea why this venue was so special!

    • @madmex123
      @madmex123 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The metropolitan definitively isn’t in the same league as Radio city hall. It’s a good venue but it isn’t as prestigious. Playing the National Auditorium or the Arena Ciudad de México would be more of an equivalent.

Glad you got to see their Evolution 2011-2021 video and are going down this rabbit hole. If you get a chance, and I'm sure someone in The Warning Army has suggested in one of your 3 reactions to the band, still highly recommend checking out their performance of "Survive" from 2017 TedX at University of Neveda when they were all under 17 years of age.
    Paulina's drumming reminds so much of Stefanie Mannaerts from the Belgian post-hardcore rock band Brutus, who also sings while talentedly banging away on the kit.
    P.S. ... I'll unfortunately probably miss both your live-stream's on Thursday as I've got a couple of doctor's appointment; although, I might be able to catch part of the second one at 6 o'clock.

    Have to correct you guys of something you said before the reaction. Someone stated that their parents push them. As far as I understand. *Their parents did not push them.* The girls took classical piano when they were very little. The girls loved their lessons. Then their parents brought them the RockBand video game. Their dad noticed Paulina was always hitting the table like a drum. So he got the girls the Rock Band video. Dany & Pau played it all the time while Ale, to little to play, sat and watch them. After sometime. Their father ask the girls if they wanted to learn another instrument. Of course they said yes. Dany, who learned the sax in school, wanted guitar. Pau chose the drums & Ale the bass. Later on they figured they can be a band. Guitar, Bass & Drums. A trio. After *Enter Sandman (2014)* blew up. These girls wanted to be a band. Their parents supported them by taking them out of the school system & home school them. So the girls can practice everyday to get better.
    If that's pushing them. Then I'm missing something. Cause to me that's determination.

      @2ndhandsouls music I'm sorry, but lack experience? Everyone can always get better at what they do, and I'm sure that includes you and me. These ladies are professional musicians and have been a money-making band for years. They were a successful independent band and now have a five album contract with Lava Records. They have opened for Def Leppard, Stryper, The Killers, Foo Fighters, Muse, and Guns and Roses. They have toured with Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless, and Lilith Czar. They have headlined their own tours and have played in large festivals in North and South America. They have two songs on the Rock Band video game. Their version of Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara was used on a trailer of a Marvel video game. That same version of Enter Sandman is on Metallica's Blacklist Album. The ladies are sponsored by instrument and musical equipment companies. Ale has a sigature bass with Spector. And the Whisky a Go Go was impressed enough with their playing and ability to fill the room when they were children that they have a standing offer to play there whenever they want. So I need to ask, at what point will they have enough experience?

    Great story behind this video. They were to play the most iconic venue in Mexico often compared to Madison Square Gardens in the USA. Tickets were released and sold out in 4 hours, they then added another show on Aug 29th which also sold out. This show was on a Monday and they added some special guests and things. They also paid a crew to make a Pro video of this 2nd show. On Dec 24th they released the video to their top level Patrons, it is a 22 song set. 2nd level patrons have so far received about 2/3 of the show. This is the first song they released to the general public. 21 more to go and some of them very special.

    They write the catchiest choruses I've ever heard. Most of their songs start with the drummer Pau writing the core on piano before they're fleshed out by the group. They still have so many killer songs that I've heard like Disciple, Evolve, and Dull Knives. Or check out a couple with Pau singing lead like Dust To Dust or Narcisista.
    These girls are certified hitmakers. If radio was a thing like it was back in the day these girls would have ruled it.
    The guitar is great on this song. I'm not sure there are backing tracks, so much as the audio was likely touched up in post-production. Plus Pau is singing along through most of the track giving the vocals a lot of heft. Check out their Live Session recordings they made during covid when they couldn't tour. They are a little less polished and raw, but still huge sounding. Pau's drumming is massive, and between the bass and drums they create a rock solid foundation.

    The Warning did release lyric videos for all songs on their recent album *Error.* The lyric videos are well made. Easy to read & follow. The music is from their studio album. Except the song *Martirio* which is a Spanish, their 2nd, language song.
    *Suggestion:* Do a two-fer. React first to a live or music video. Then do the lyric video.
    What's better than a once a Warning video?? *A TWICE A WARNING VIDEO!!*

    This concert was a headline show in a 3100 seat theatre, sold out two nights. They had a video crew both nights. You can see that the video here is from both nights. I love that we hear how good a bass player Ale is. If you're interested in family band histories, the progression of The Lovell Sisters to Larkin Poe is cool. LP is a fabulous band.

    well, The warning using a klicking sound in ear ( at least for the drummer ) and pre recorded peaces for Dannys Guitar etc, So she plays one part but is supportet by another guitar here and there, Or a Piano if i remember correctly. Not in all Songs but at others you can definately hear it. Its a great thing for a three man Band, givinh the time we live in. I meen we are not in the 69s anymore where you had to be lucky if you could use a decent Amp :D: And lets be honest... for three sisters, its better to do it this way then too search for a fourth etc Bandmember. Expecially if you wanna play YOUR songs. I love theire music, cause other then MOST Artists like theire songs allways,,, or lets say nostly have a Meening and something behind it. I followed them since the time .. i think a half year after they posted theire first Metallica Cover on TH-cam. Seeing this 3 girls do Rick made me feel a little bit younger ;D, And then they made theire concept Album what totaly blew me away, THIS was something i never expected,,, This girls are.. today my absolute favorites ...besides Amy Lee, Lemmy and others. So i hope we can hear a lot of great Music from em in the past.
