Super demo and explanation! The trickiest part for me is scraping those extra long hairs/whiskers and keeping a nice continued line without any wobble.

we used to do that in grade school...with crayons. Lay down some colors, then cover them with black. Then scrape out designs....

Did you say any alcohol like vodka, etc? Can I use surgical spirit or rubbing alcohol? I think you mentioned turpentine, too, ya? That isn't working for me.
