Very beautiful piece and performance. But, most of all, I. Love. That. Cat.

OMG, I love this work. I know an oboist who says that the most virtuoso-sounding parts fall under the fingers automatically. He said it's like she read his mind.

Wonderful music reflecting the spirit of new world. When I heard fm radio I could easily guessed that this music belonged to an American composer.

This is unbelievably haunting beautiful powerful arresting music. It is SOOOO gorgeous. Proof if ever you needed that modern music does not need to be either unremittingly hard core atonal bullying or one dimensional subcortical repetitive lift-music. Ms Higdon I doff my proverbial cap to you. Huge respect.

I have rarely found music by Ms Higdon that I don't immediately like. When I do, it's usually my fault. I HATED Sondheim's SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE the first time I heard it. It took me a year to get it. Then I got to see it on Broadway. I was in tears -- even though Bernadette Peters was replaced. Her replacement was awesome.

Me alegra saber que esta obra resultó de tu interés, Gabriel. Volviendo a lo que comenté antes sobre esta publicación del 16 de Mayo, al menos el Concierto de compositor anónimo (comienzos del siglo XVIII) logró quedar programado.

Oboes are the most beautiful instrument, and Jennifer Higdon has written a wonderful concerto to showcase them!

Yes, that opening theme had a haunting (maybe wistful) air about it. I thought of how Copland often evoked a similar sound in his beautiful music.
