Thank you so much Andrew. I was trying for an hour until I learnt from your video that I needed to push the phone button for 5 seconds and WHILE HOLDING the button push next on the app. I wish the instructions were clearer. Thanks again. You saved my day :)
Andrew, THANK YOU! I just bought the 10 C Pro in October 2020, and your video helped me immensely with the firmware update. I am a old dude... and definitely not a Geek Squad applicant... I followed your steps on my PC and it tracked very closely to what you did on the MAC. I owe you a burger an a brew if you make it to the San Francisco Bay Area, or if I land in the MidWest. You have your stuff together man, and I appreciate it. --- Steve
Thank you very much for making this video. I was having an issue setting mine up by not saving as a new camera after uploading the firmware. Sena tech didn't tell me about that step and I couldn't get the camera to work. Once I saved the firmware as a new camera everything worked perfectly. Thank you again for taking the time to make this helpful video.
I see that you use a Mac. Have you had any issues with the Sena and Rending a video.. I have a macbook Pro. When rendering using Final Cut Pro or iMovie. I have to cut frames from the videos, otherwise the sharing fails. I believe it has to do with dropped frames on the sena. tried different cards and settings. The Insta360 or other cameras do not have this issue, even when using the audio from the sena, it is just the video part of the file.
I have not had issues but I haven't edited video from a sena camera in a long time. I think we'll be using the 10c pro a bit this year so I will have more knowledge with it after that.
Also try another usb cord or the one that came with the Sena device. They can be finicky. When I first tried to update my original 10c it never would update. I tried everything. Try another SD card if you have one but format it in the Sena device like ^ he said
A back and forth transcription of advise given to me from Sena. My issue was getting the notification 'failed to update firmware. Cannot get status [4][1] Try again' while updating the firmware. Hello Daniel, Thank you for contacting SENA Technical Support. I do apologize for the inconvenience. Please try to do a fault reset on your unit while plugged into the computer. Use another cable if it doesn't work. Here's how(please read and follow all the steps): Reset by pushing the Pin-hole Reset Button at the back of the headset main unit. Insert a paper clip into the reset pinhole and press the reset button for 8 seconds. Do this for 3-4 times and try to turn on. This will not restore the headset to factory default settings. Best regards, Hi Daniel, Please don't use 32gb microSD cards. I'm very sorry for the misinformation. I double-checked your unit and I saw that you got a 10C PRO I was thinking you had the 10C. Please use the 64gb instead. But before proceeding in the update, let's fix that issue first. Kindly do a Factory and Fault Reset on your device. After performing both resets, kindly proceed to formatting your 64gb SD card again(refer to the previous email with steps). Here's how to Factory Reset your device. Here's how to Fault Reset. NOTE: Turn on the device before the Fault Reset. If the device turns off on its own after pressing the pin-hole button, it indicates a successful Fault Reset. In case the device is still turned on, try to review the steps again. Once you've successfully format your 64GB SD card while inside the 10C PRO, proceed to the firmware upgrade. Then, when you encounter the freezing at a certain %, just press and hold the pin-hole reset button until it reaches 100%. Please also follow the on-screen instructions like "hold phone button until this message disappears". About your 32GB SD card, kindly format it using an SD card reader or using an android phone. Additionally, after you've successfully updated your firmware, please do the Factory Reset again to let the new features be compatible with the new update. I really hope for your kind consideration on my mistake. And please do tell me how this goes for me to assist you further. Best regards, Jay
My husband just got his Senna10 and tried to update. He formatted the card first, but on updating, it has wiped the camera. He cannot turn it on, or get the computer to read anything. Any advice?
I had the same problem as the commentor 'sonics747' had: "Tried updating version 2.1 10C Pro right out of the box, got "Failure to update SD Card not recognized" at 28% , after 10 failures nd several different SD Card." For me the solution was I needed to use an older laptop with USB 2.0 ports. Apparently my desktop was "too new" and only had USB 3.0 ports. Once I installed the software and plugged in the 10c pro to my older laptop everything worked fine. BTW I used the SD Card: Samsung EVO 64GB class 10/U3
Hi! I done this update but to be honest I don't see any difference…. Everything looks the same… or maybe I just dont understand something? Thank you in advance
i cant believe the amount of problems this product has caused me... why are we supporting Sena, why do a lot of youtube riders suggest such a terrible product??? I have never had so many problems getting a product to work in my life.
Technology can definitely cause frustration at times and some of this stuff where a single button has so many different functions can get pretty frustrating as well. When the Senas work they work great but sometimes fighting with them puts me in a bad mood. Having said that I’ve not used any other Bluetooth communication devices to compare so I can’t say anything else would be any better though from experience with phones and Bluetooth ear buds I think Bluetooth just has lots of problems in general.
@@Touringmidwest heres the problem with them. (In my experience) -This product was about $500AUD. ‐I set it up in my helmet with no instructions. Im sure less hands on people would like instructions.(even though its fairly simple) -Couldn't even use it straight away cause they don't supply a $20AUD 64GB microSD card -The worst part of all the Apps/programs and absolutely trash. -Lucky the camera app actually runs. So it configures the memory card. But the play back on the phone is so slow. (Im comparing it with insta360 app play back which can also lag but thats super high quality 360 video. The senas camera app is lower quality then insta360 but freezes every few Seconds) -Their Utility app kept crashing. -After figuring out (by luck) how to connect the Sena to my phones bluetooth(holding the "phone" button down). The Utility app finally worked and told me to download a "better" app. (Why dont they delete the old Utility app or On the homepage just tell you to down load the "better" app. -Lucky i can use the camera without updating firmware. But if that changes what am i todo because the program that updates the firmware also crashes? (Another thing ill comparing with insta360 you can update the firmware via their phone app. I dont need to use the computer AND most importantly insta360s app doesn't crash) All this with no instructions. Most information i found out there is from youtube videos like yours not affiliated with Sena. Or just figured stuff out my self, which i could have figured out quicker if I wasn't under the impression i needed to connect to my phone bluetooth via the Utility app that doesn't even work... So even though the camera seems to be working for me now, i will never recommend this product to anyone. And will only keep it because sending it back would just be yet another hassle Sena has caused me. (For this product only im saying dont buy it. Not worth the $500. Want a intercom get a high quality stand alone one, want a camera, get a insta360 or gopro. Dont waste your money on this. To much money for apps that dont work and average sound and video quality)
I absolutely hate the camera on this thing! If I knew it look as bad as this I would have never bought it and the sound while listening to music sucks too. No kidding.
Sena sucks I bought the 10 c pro and till this day I can't update the firmware I can't even download the device manager is garbage and I'll probably will never buy another sena

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This helped me a lot. I appreciate you sir
I knew how to do this but can’t help but watch. Lol. Nice job man.
I definitely appreciate the view time brother, thank you for the kind words also.
Touring Midwest do you know if this one will also record the other riders like the backpack?
I believe it does. I hope so anyways.. I never used the original 10c, was that one able to?
Touring Midwest I’ve never used it either. Maybe someone will see this and answer. I may even call SENA. I want one if it does!
Im sure it does.
Video mi veľmi pomohlo. Great.
thanks for the help, that was straight forward!
No problem. Have a great night.
Thanks! Just picked up my 10c Pro. You kept me from making a call to Sena. Rubber side down!
Awesome.. they recently released the 10c pro evo or something like that..
@@Touringmidwest I heard. I don't plan on Vlogging, just looking to CYA in case of some crazy Sh*% on Florida roads.

I have a macbook. I did everything step by step but it fails to recognize my device. Idk what to do now? I haven't been able to update my sena.
Some have said that formatting their sd card prior to updating has been affective.

I got an error message and figured out that I had to format the SD card prior to updating. This was on a Windows platform.
I am getting a frame drop once in a while. How do you upgrade the camera firmware? Or what memory card do you recommend? Thanks! Ride Safe
This video is all about the firmware update..For SD cards I always use San disk extreme plus.
Thanks bro! :)
Absolutely
