Thanks for the tour, really enjoyed it ! I don't speak or read Swedish, so I missed out on understanding the signs etc., but what sruck me most was how clean all the streets are--only a few pieces of litter seen on the entire walk...far different here!! Wish we'd bumped into Per G. !!

Byłam w Halmstadt. Mam dobre wspomnienia z pobytu w tym pięknym mieście. Pozdrawiam Polaków żyjących w Szwecji. Z Bogiem.

If you have autism and live here, the national autism society will advise you to move to another city since Halmstad is not following the law which states that autistic people have a right to a normal standard of life. There isn't even emergency mental health care available for people with sensory problems. If you or anyone you know has autism (or anyone in their family has it) and want to move here, please make sure you/they have finances that can support hiring lawyers in case you ever need to apply for some support.
The city parks, people etc are amazing, but the politicians in power are disconnected from reality and every now & then something crazy happens due to the lack of mental health care. The fishing is terrible as well due to the hydroelectrical plants & commercial fishing being allowed super close to the shore (I think this is finally changing tho, so Halmstad might become a valid tourist fishing destination again in a few years).
Also if anyone is wondering about the seagull signs 05:06 , it's basically propaganda trying to blame citizens for the extreme amounts of seagulls that defecate and attack people all over the city (after their eggs hatch) while the cities own ornithologist says the seagulls stay in the city mainly because the city is cutting the grass in the parks too often (so larvae and insects can't hide from the birds). This is yet another reason not to move here if you have autism & sound sensory problems, because I don't know any apartment complex area in Halmstad that doesn't have seagull nests on the roof.
Sorry for writing an essay in your comment section, I'm just hoping I can warn autistic people from coming here, and I suppose a comment doesn't hurt the TH-cam algorithm anyways.

I appreciate the info! What's the best part of the city in your opinion?

Is it very difficult to have a job for international students there?

If you know English and if you have contacts, you can find a job! Also depends on your profession and if jobs work for English speakers in the workplace! Search on the internet for jobs that interest you and try!
