"Gethsemane" serves as a prequel to "The Power of the Cross". Topically, it is about the suffering of Jesus Christ in the garden of Gethsemane and his decision to go to the cross.
I cry when I imagine what Jesus must’ve felt when he said, Father, forgive them. They know not what they do. Not just the physical pain of being nailed to the cross, but emotional pain.
This sing was so good that out of almost 200k who viewed nobody was able to click 👍...perhaps everyone was stucked to the beautiful lyrics and melody combined...and was driven into a deep, intimate prayer...😊
I liked it when I first heard it. If you notice, next to "Likes", it doesn't say there aren't any; it says "N/A". So it's not keeping count of the number of likes.
Thank you Keith and kettsy Getty for your awesome, spiritual and uplifting songs. May the Lord continue to bless, guide, lead, protect, shield and watch over you both. Amen........ 🙏😊🙏
The greatest portrayal of the separation from the Father in ANY song I've heard. This apparent rejection caused Him to pause with the cry my God my God why? Why have you forsaken me?
The Atonement of Christ began in Gethsemane before reaching its climax on the Cross. The pain He felt in Gethsemane and on Golgotha for our sins, our sorrows, our loneliness, our addictions, and everything else is absolutely unfathomable. He did it for me, unworthy though I am, and He did it for you as well.
beautiful song that really makes me contemplate on Jesus's agony in the garden of Gesthemane. Could anyone please tell me the chords for this song? i would really love to play it. much appreciated. :-)
He had to do it so that we can live eternally. Have no shame or self blame. He did it willingly for you and me. So that we may live!! I love you Brother ❤.
This is truly beautiful. However, the piano playing overwhelms part of the scripture spoken at the beginning. I know what she's saying because I know the scripture but I wanted to share with unsaved loved ones who may not know it. Adding lyrics would be helpful.
The Cross Ignorance is a funny thing It gives us men A Lot to share But who can say What makes a man To cling To Aloneness As Once did A Dying King By John Joseph Hawkins Jr
Tears are flowing as I think of my Savior's anguish in Gethsemane.

Is there a place to get the sheet music or accompaniment track of this version? I’ve found others but this version is so beautiful.
Many of the chords are available to the Getty's music on their site -

The Cross
Ignorance is a funny thing
It gives us men
A Lot to share
But who can say
What makes a man
To cling
To Aloneness
As Once did
A Dying
King
By John Joseph Hawkins Jr
Can't it just be sung with reverence or does everything need 'Mariah Careying up?
