Also for those kinds of pencil sharpeners? Hold the pencil and turn the sharpener around the pencil instead of twisting the pencil in the sharpener. This puts waaaaay less stress on the core of the pencil and you'll see less breakage from sharpening with your soft core pencils.
I have these I got them basically a couple of months after they came out I love them.. Derwent is popular here in Australia.. I’ve got loads of different Derwent pencils which I love ❤️ thanks for sharing
Hullo Jenny, I have used wax predominant pencils and I believe all can exhibit “bloom” you just have to be careful with your layers! I have never had much success with sharpening pencils by rotating the pencils. The best sharper has the blades going around the pencils so using the small sharpeners while holding the pencil still works the best. I purchased the refills of German blades in the 10 pack to replace the blades in most sharpeners. Happy Christmas!
I got them as a present yesterday (the 150 set, already had the 72 set) and watched your video while swatching and agree with you - they are nice, esspecially for this pricepoint. People go on and on that they are more like studentgrade. Yeah, but you can achieve really nice artwork with them and use the lightfast ones and some other brands for special needs. I most of the time mix the different brands anyways and the chromaflow are really good on toned paper and for bigger areas to fill in. Also good for my wristpain. Thanks for your detailed video on them!
Was the green pencil that broke Jungle Green by any chance? Mine broke multiple times and I’ve read the same from a few others, always Jungle Green. I think there’s something in the formulation or the way they were pressed.
@ yeah, I think it’s something in their formula for that specific color. I’ve read at least 3 others with breakage of the same color, the Jungle Green. If you use Prismacolor many people always have an issue with Chocolate Brown too, same kind of issue where the core is way too soft and just crumbles and sharpens oddly.

Thanks I will try that.

I like em. The quality went up. 👌 Fun to use and not bank breaking in cost.
For sure.
