    Interesting game! I'm not one to play sports video games such as soccer, racing games, boxing, tennis, basketball, golf, etc... but this game is interesting because of its realism because it helps the video game industry focused on virtual reality and augmented to follow, create, improve, expand, help or whatever the way of VR to the general public and the great consumer... to create quality VR games that are as realistic as possible.

    This really needs full body inverse kinematics. I really hope they add realistic arms and body to the experience. It's not hard - individual people have written mods for games like Skyrim VR and it works amazingly well. Or that ultra short Batman experience from a few years ago. Having only the paddle floating in space breaks the otherwise amazing looking experience.

    • @GJBedrin
      @GJBedrin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Idk you really really don't notice the arms missing in this one. You're way too busy looking at the environment to be noticing little things like a body. It would be cool but I'd rather them focus on longer courses. The demo course only takes like 5 minutes

    the best way to turn sharply is to stick the padle in the water and push forwards. in other words paddle backwards on the inside of a turn instead of normal paddle strokes on the outside.

      If it's graphics you are after you will need a good headset like the Valve Index or if you are willing to spend the money get a Varjo headset. The Varjo XR3 is widely regarded to have the best display of any headset but just cost too much for consumers. Not to mention you need a beast of a computer to run the graphics that high.
      The downside to that headset is it does not have a mic and you have to plug in your own headphones for sound. That is where something like the Valve Index is a much better buy. It has a great display, off ear speakers that sound pretty good, and a good quality microphone. The Valve Index is very well rounded I would say it's a much better headset for playing video games where the Varjo XR3 is a better headset for simulations like flying a plane.

    • @socks2441
      @socks2441 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thejman3489 no mention of reverb g2? widely renowned as the best graphics semi affordable headset... better than valve index anyway, even if it is worse in most other ways. the visuals are certainly better.

    • @thejman3489
      @thejman3489 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@socks2441 The HP Reverb G2 does have a better resolution. The thing about that headset is that it has inside out tracking meaning the headset is tracking the controllers. If your controllers go somewhere the headset can't see it won't be able to track them. Also the accuracy of the tracking won't be as good as base station laser tracking used by the Index. The other thing to consider is that the Reverb G2 has a 90hz refresh rate while the Index has 144hz refresh rate. It's all just things to consider.

    • @socks2441
      @socks2441 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      HP Reverb G2: 2160x2160 per eye
      Pimax 8k: 3840x2160 per eye (important to note this headset has a very wide field of view)

    It looks like it doesn't convey weight very well. When kayaking, the weight of pushing a paddle through water is quite large, but a good push can really build speed very quickly.

  • @happysmash27

    Oh, wow, that sound design is really good... At first I was like, "Wow, so realistic, amazing!" then watching the actual gameplay I realised... eh, maybe a little _too_ realistic? It looks tiring. I could just kayak in real life, and might enjoy it more in the Marina then here. It would be more dangerous to do that, though, as well as be harder to get to.

      @@sub23DaRkNeSS it's sad alright. Quality VR games have taken a backseat thanks to Quest marketshare dominance. And I don't see it getting any better any time soon. Quest 3 still won't be capable of running high poly, high lighting, high physics games. So it will continue the trend of low poly cartoon style graphics, limiting what devs can do with atmospheric world building for years to come. VR software has to suffer to try to gain mass adoption. Which it has. I'd love to see retention numbers from Quest users past their first year, but we know they'll never show those, just continue to tell us how good it's selling and how it's good for VR.

    • @RecenzjeHorrorowPrzemcio
      @RecenzjeHorrorowPrzemcio 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GameJunky513 you need to look at a bigger picture. Quest has something that no other headset has - it's cheap and easy to use. For "premium VR" you need a costly PC HMD and a costly PC, and some knowledge, time, determination and accomodation conditions, most of the players plays on low end/mid range machines barely capable of running VR (Steam HW survey has its covered for you), so they'd need to upgrade their PCs, buy an expensive VR and often upgrade their houses, cause not everyone has conditions to make a room scale setup with those cameras and other crap in their houses/rooms. That's why premium VR is a total niche and that's exactly why there's no more AAA games and most VR games are just tech demos - because making an AAA VR game is unprofitable - no one is making high budget games for pure fun.
      With Quest, the VR gaming has at least a chance to be something in the future, premium VR won't be mainstream until it won't be so demanding on the financial and technical side. That's why PSVR or Quests succeeds while other VRs fails, the next big VR chance is PSVR2, cause it will be probably easy to use like the first one and it's not going to cost so much, and the console is much cheaper (even bought from scalper) than PC with the same power. It's all about money, mate, most of the people can't afford such luxury and don't want to meddle with it, they just want to play, it's the same with consoles and PCs - since 2007, no one is making killer-graphics PC exclusive games, cause it's just unprofitable, the cheaper and simplier devices are trend setters, not complicated and expensive ones, like it or not.
