Glad you like this charger. I just ordered one but wasn't familiar with the brand. Seems to be one of the Top chargers on the market after doing some research.

Its designed here in Sweden but manufactured in another country. Ctek is the leader make for chargers here in Sweden.

Best cxhargers I have ever used. If that is a new battery, I would take it back under warranty - there is something very wrong with it. 10V it is trashed. The battery terminals and the corrosion, try smearing them with petroleum jelly before you reinstall, it will help prevent that oxidization. The motorcycle charge is not 6V, it is 12V but limited to something like 0.8Amps, this charger does not do 6Volt.

you should have tested to see if there was a fault that was draining the battery as this is a common problem with mr2, it is very often found to be the stereo that is draining the battery, this can be fixed by pulling the fuse which is in the fuse box in the frunk, i do this if leaving the car for long periods and it always starts now, but before it would go flat after about 2 weeks

    Has it finished charging ?

It was my understanding that people shouldn't charge while the battery is connected to the car, but I see the special connection that you showed on screen, so I guess it's safe? It won't damage the electronics?

Njoyed your video just as much as you enjoy Jack Daniels by how many bottles you've got in your garage dude 😂😂😂
Not driven my car much this last yr and constantly having to jump start it and the battery is only 3 1/2 yrs old, so I am looking to get one of these pretty soon 😃😃
    I have a '17 Fiesta ST.
I've read that you shouldn't recon the battery with it connected to your car in case you play havoc with the car's electronics, as it runs quite a high current 😲😲
Also, did you purchase the 2.5m extension lead to run it to your car from the garage, as that's what I'm going to need to do ??
    Thanks again, a worthwhile watch & v.informative 👍👍 😺😺

That's not all the JD bottles, been a long lockdown 😄 was keeping them for a project, then thought about filling them with used engine oil but may just recycle them now.
I would not personally, I would leave the battery in the car, just remove the + and - and should be fine (lock doors manually)
I picked up the 2.5m cable but only reaches with the car parked inwards, with the drivers door on the right in the UK, I like to reverse in so the passenger door is up against the wall, will order 2 x 2.5m cables in the future, seems you can link three together.
Glad you liked the video 😀

Thanks for the pin dude 😃😃
"You can link 3 together..." That's strange because I've asked 3 people about linking 2 together cos I need just over 5m and they've all said that you cannot link 2 together as it makes the charger too sensitive and it throws up an error ! Maybe you can delve further into this and let me know on this comment. Thanks again and keep up the good hard work 👍👍

    Current isn't measured in volts.

Is the cca going up after full charges ...

Useful video, but not sure that you checked Voltage of your battery after full charge cycle. Others may have already commented. But hey I'll buy one for my EV. They are tough on 12V batteries, and a very essential component!

You accidentally ripped the rubber feet out of the charger and left them in the cardboard those are the two little black pips that need to go back into the charger

Interesting video very well presented, I am thinking of getting a Ctek charger, but without seeing the instruction manual am in the dark about setting the mode to suit the car & battery, it's a modern car with some computer modules and the car uses a 12volt AGM type battery, do the instructions show if this charger is suitable for a set up using a AGM type battery.

clean the terminals ( deoxidise ) apply " battery terminal grease " to the lead terminals and the connectors, and you can forget about it.

I have one too.. the old first model 1049. With a snow flake as one mode. Can also so AGM on that mode.
But I think it's too slow charging for my liking though.

Brother, thank you ♥️ for the information, how long does the battery charge (how many hours) and is it useful in reviving the battery?? ➡️➡️➡️➡️

Why do you need to keep charging the battery, is it the alternator or a parasitic draw ?

    • @FIXitBUILDitGARAGE
      @FIXitBUILDitGARAGE  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Its on trickle charge, just keeps the battery topped up. If I was starting the car weekly I wouldn't, but wrapped up for winter now till March, keeps battery topped up 👍
