You can come to Syria anytime.
As a Greek Citizen you can get a tourist visa at the Syrian Embassy near Beirut, Lebanon.
It usually takes 4 to 5 working days to get the visa (in any case the only way for you to fly to Syria is Athens to Beirut and from Beirut you can catch a bus or shared taxi to Damascus).

Nobody can fly directly from Athens to Damascus because Greece doesn't have diplomatic relations with Syria.
If you want to land in Damascus you can fly from Athens to Dubai or Kuwait and from there get on a flight to Damascus.

I met many Syrian people in Athens when I moved for a year, I tried their food, had some yummy black tea, learned a few words and all i can say these people don't deserve any of this happening to them and their land.. they're amazing people to hang out with and they usually are very willing to make new friends and talk and laugh at your jokes and share their culture and amazing mindset of being generous.

They come from many backgrounds and nationalities, and everyone says they are from Syria
It has become easy to say that you are from Syria in order for them to obtain asylum and I know that most of them are not Syrians.

This is the first time I've seen a travel vlog from Syria and it's so fascinating! The media usually shows Syria in a very different & negative way so I'm happy to see you documenting your travels there and showing the beautiful sides. It's hearthbreaking to see so many parts of the world, including Syria, being at war and people having to leave their homes. It would be super interesting to travel to this part of the world myself, really hope I'll be able to visit Syria and other countries in the region someday.

As a Syrian, this video has been so emotional to watch. I moved out 6 months before the war, and went only once in 2019. It has changed a lot, the people's faces have changed, the atmosphere. The country endured a terrific war, people were displaced and scattered to say the least. I hope one day we go back to our beautiful Syria and be able to reconstruct it.

I actually asked him just last week if it is safe to travel to Syria (I just want to see this amazing country, a colleague of mine used to teach English in Syria before the war, and he said it was one of his favorite countries and THE BEST and the most beautiful in the region ), I wanted to visit then, but the war started.....Now I can speak a little Syrian Arabic, I just can't wait to use/practice it in real life, and visit all the amazing sites and try the food. Thanks for the video, I will seriously consider taking the trip. I really hope the misery in Syria can be over soon, peace and prosperity come back to this ancient land.

Such important content. I spent 20 of my most formative years in Hong Kong and Singapore, at a time (late 60's to the late 80's) when South East Asia was considered nothing or for Vietnam. I have also traveled the world. It is such a shame that the people who need to watch your videos won't because more than anyone, they need to understand that we ARE all people who want the same for our families etc. Beyond the generalizations, thank you for showing us real life in a part of the world that is bursting at the seams with history, beauty and culture but one that has suffered so terribly (I will refrain from pointing fingers). This is the kind of content that should be mandatory watching for our kids so that they learn not to fear but rather embrace the world.

Very nostalgic to see it again - and to see how things have changed. 😥 We were basically free to move around on our own back then, no guides required - though I do remember a hairy run in with the police when we went on a day trip, but left our passports back at the hotel. All's well that ends well though. Interested to see the rest of the series! 👏👏👏

I'm just so saddened that the people in Syria have to live in an environment that's so obliterated by war. Was once a beautiful spot on the Mediterranean.

The adventures you both have makes me jealous. If I were in a different position with my other half I would do these fantastic things. Thank you for showing me what else is out there

Great video, just in awe at the beauty of the town, buildings and the people. There are few Syrian people in my town of Bakersfield, California and they are the nicest people you'll ever meet. The people in the video are amazing.
