Watching you cooking in an RV makes me Jones for our RV. You're making a full meal for a family of 6. Thinking about the cleanup.... E-gads. Thats a labor of love. It warms my heart seeing your sons eat without complaint. I fed my oldest boy dinner tonight, no complaints, but then again he is....41!! 😳
That water slide in the beginning was so anti-climactic, hahah! It's good to see a father playing with his children. They will remember it forever! mmm, buuuttteeerrr!!! a must have! - Jonah
I've been in the Baton Rouge area for over 50 years, and while I knew potliquor was a thing, I didn't know the meaning (aside from it being the name of a local band in the 70's! 😉)
Y’all are so cute. Such a precious family. I am from Baton Rouge, la and I’ve lived here all my life and that’s how I cook beans and greens also. Have a blessed day. I still say Texas would be a great state to settle down in.
Hi. I've just started watching your channel because I saw you on Justin Rhodes channel. When we go camping we cook on 2 electric hot plates outside. Sure beats propane! I admire you guys for going on the road with a young family to find your new homestead. Many blessings to you!
One thing I like about our trailer is that by the door going outside there is a little sink and two burner stove that folds out. Handy for what you were doing. Yes I was told if making southern dishes you can never have too much butter. lol
don't know if you'll see old comments, but had to laugh over the butter. It is a showstopper when it happens, and you've got your tastebuds all set for biscuits. Once, in a desperate moment, I made biscuits using Ranch dressing to replace the fat & dairy... they were actually pretty darn good and I did it a couple of times just for a change in flavor. Not as flakey or 'just right' as normal biscuits, but they were biscuits when my milk had gone bad and I forgot to buy butter.
I so wish I were a fly on the wall, or better yet, there with you guys. I love the way you chat back and forth. I was thinking the entire time you were making the biscuits (without butter) that you are going to wish you had butter to slather on them, haha. I bet they were yummy and would have been especially good with honey on them. Maybe not with the meal you were having (that looked yummy too!). Ah, who am I trying to kid. Biscuits with honey (and butter) are delicious no matter what you are eating along with them! You are a gourmet cook compared to me, Meg. I've never even had collard greens, let alone know how to cook them in a yummy way. I've learned so much from you two already! xo Heather🇨🇦
It's still a biscuit yo! LOL. That was an awesome campground water park. I am also very happy to see that some form of rat made the journey with you all.
Baking is somewhat of an exact science. At least where using baking soda and baking powder is concerned. I make scratch made cinnamon rolls no recipe but I do measure my yeast.
Our Betty Crocker Cook Book is over 55 year old. My wife's mother gave it to her when she left home 55 years ago and it was used.
Oh wow, that’s amazing!!

I love how much you all clearly love each other. Seeing the way Meg looks at Ben warms my heart. And vice versa, of course.
I’ve never seen Meg look this happy or at peace.
It was a great day!

Saddest water slide ever lol! This trip has been so good for Ben, and the kids too. ~Meg
“A little dense, but it’s still a biscuit yo” 😂😂 EXACTLY! I could never do a no carb diet. Your vlogs make me smile so thank you for that ☺️
I don’t think I could go carb free either. That would be so hard!
Binge watching and I loved seeing you'all holding hands and saying prayer!
I look at a cook book and change the recipe to what ever feels good at the time. except of course biscuits and pie dough
Biscuits and pie dough have to stay the same. Although... sometimes I'll even get crazy with the biscuits and add cheese and herbs. 😉
Love grows best in a small home!
LOL. I'm from Louisiana and I know exactly what pot liquor is. It is good stuff. That was some cooking there. Great video.
Yay! I’m so glad someone else knows what it is!

I also live in Louisiana in the central part of the state!!
My kind of cooking, just throw it together until it’s right! I don’t have southern blood, but man that looked great & now I want beans & greens, yum!
That's the best way to cook. 😉
LOVE watching your family cook and have fun together! I would LOVE to see more family adventures, shopping trips, etc involving the kids. 💕

My mother was born in Baton Rouge! That’s just the right way to make beans and greens. 😉

Thank you! The hotplates are a great idea.
What a fun water park. Take me with you next time
You bet!!
What a beautiful day you and your family had.
It was wonderful!
Where did you say? That water slide was amazing free at a camp ground! Your dinner looked so Good.
It was the KOA in Colorado Springs. So much fun!

I do wish we had that little area. We have a propane valve on the outside so we could hook the stove up, but Ben would have to make a shelf thing.
Mustard greens are the bomb. Should have done some fried cornbread fritters. Love the videos!!

That sounds really tasty!!
Pot liquor and cornbread. Yum.
Yum.
Nice looks like a lot of fun !! I got some old timey Purple top collards ,fresh squash ,nothing like a good southern meal !! love video .God Bless
That sounds delicious! Southern food just feeds your soul.
There will never be enough storage wherever you are.. a shop is never big enough for all the equipment. Never
That is SO true. We keep saying we don’t really care what house we find, but if it has a nice shop we’re set haha!
I believe a lot of us young married ladies got a Betty Crocker Cookbook as a gift.

😂😂😂
I'm going to try to make your greens with bacon. did you add onions in too.
I usually do, but I ran out this time. They are so good with onions!
I've had my Betty Crocker Cookbook since 1975, before that I used my mothers
I love making my own homemade bread. To me homemade is better. At least I know what is in it.
Baking is somewhat of an exact science. At least where using baking soda and baking powder is concerned. I make scratch made cinnamon rolls no recipe but I do measure my yeast.
Amazing I’m so hungry now tfs xx
Haha right?!
looks so good! you cake use powered milk or just water in biscuits too.
Good idea, thank you!
Where in Oklahoma are you from?
Ben and I were born and raised in California, but his grandpa was from southern Oklahoma.
Yes, it is called pot likker! We’ll make a southern girl out of you yet!
Wife is always right.😛
😉😉
Kids are so weird....
